Cisco WAN :: ASR1004 / Show Ip Cache Flow Is Slow And Stalls?
Jun 30, 2012
Ever since we switched to ASR1004 running XE15.1(2)S1, we have seen that the output of "show ip cache flow" stalls and is super slow to complete. We have a few interfaces with "ip flow ingress" defined. What can be causing this slowness? Any recommendations of commands to speed up the output?
On my 1841 when i enter the "ip flow-cache timeout active 2" command it accepts this command with no errors. But when i look at my running-config this does not list.I did the same thing on my 2811's and 3745 and it shows up in the running-config. Should I assume if it doesnt' show up in my config file than it is not applied? How can I verify that it is or isn't?
I have a Cisco 2621XM router with two ethernet interfaces that sits before a vendor supplied VPN router. I need to see the IP traffic incoming to my router from the WAN side (fasteth0/1 below). I setup ip cef, and ip flow ingress on the interface. However -- it seems that what I see when I use "ip cache flow" command doesn't have a very long history or life. What commands am I missing so that I can see a summary of the stats over say the last 5, 10 or 15 minutes? Is this the best config that can be used for this, or can I create a more summarized report just using the router HW and IOS? Basic current configuration:version 12.3service timestamps debug uptimeservice timestamps log uptimeservice password-encryption!hostname Littleboy!ip subnet-zeroip cef table event-log size 1024ip cefip cef accounting per-prefix non-recursive prefix-lengthip cef traffic-statistics load-interval 180!ip flow-cache entries 2048ip flow-cache timeout inactive 60!interface FastEthernet0/1 description Littleboy to vpn-wan ip address 10.1.0.1 255.255.255.252 ip flow ingress?
I want to see net flow data.I have configured this command on the c6500.but I can to see data only below...How can I configration ip cache flow on the C6500? what is the problem?

I have 2 computers in my room which between them i very frequently share files between. Wirelessly they were both connected to my home's router until recently the router was removed, but will be back soon. The problem though, was that with using the router, file sharing between those computers was slow, and with the router gone, I was lost because there was no movement of data between the computers whatsoever, I had no crossover cable, but plenty of regular ethernet cable. Than I remembered something about gigabit lan not needing crossovers(both of the computers being gigabit) and I connected them, and marveled at the new way to share files. And more by the exponential boost in speed(800kb/s to a grand 12mb/s{though I still think that is slow for gigabit.}). Obviously I've overcome a problem, but that's not where this story ends, it comes with another problem. When the router is reconnected to these computers, will the files still transfer through there new found direct connection? or will it attempt to go through the router, only allowing me to get the speeds I want when one of these computers isn't connected to the router?
I've got a problem with an ASR1004 running "asr1000rp2-adventerprisek9.03.02.00.S.151-1.S.bin".
When I'm performing extended ping tests using a tclsh script i'm geting this error message:
ASR_X1A2#ping 172.27.1.250
% Authorization failed.
When i'm pinging 12 diffrent destinations this happens to about 3 of them.
Checking the logs I found this:
Apr 24 19:42:56.071: %SSH-4-SSH2_UNEXPECTED_MSG: Unexpected message type has arrived. Terminating the connection
In my entire backbone this is happening only in this equipment, I've checked the connection between my ASR and the TACACS and it's OK, no packet loss. CPU and MEM are OK too.
I have just got a ASR1004 and try to upgrade it, but, I can not find the instruction, I guess it may just same as other production by copy. but, it is good to see in writing.
My home network uses a Cisco router connected to a cable modem. The router has a WAP and a second WAP is connected with power over Ethernet connection. Both WAP have strong signals. We have PC's, a Mac and several Iphones connected wirelessly. When using the Internet, the computers and phones seem to stall when moving from one web page to another. This happens with one or several devices in use, so it does not appear to be related to volume. Re-booting the modem and router usually corrects the problem, but not always.
I have a couple of Droid Incredibles, and when I use them connected to my Wi-Fi (even tho I have unlimited data, the cell signal strength is not that high in my home -- I'd rather use the Wi-Fi) they'll run for 10-15 minutes, then hit a brick wall. Internet traffic stops, for all devices conected. ROuter has to be re-booted.url...but I also read some where in this forum that simply disabling AES would work.
We faced with problem after upgrade ASR from 12(2) 33 XNE2. I know that this is an old XE release but our Radius deny authization from ASR with more new XE version. Here is our radius attribute configuretion:
! radius-server attribute 44 include-in-access-req radius-server attribute nas-port format d radius-server host x.x.x.x auth-port 1812 acct-port 1813 non-standard
[Code]....
How can I add in my configuration that ASR send necesserry NAS-Port-Type - VPDN
I couldn't found out any info ((( for radius-server attribute 61 extended
First few attempts to load a web page after a reboot are okay, then it begins to stall with no error, or sometimes an "empty response" error message. I simply cannot load web pages. Checking mail sometimes stalls. When this happens, the Thunderbird process hangs around after I've exited the application using 50% cpu. I didn't discover this until just recently. Even when connecting to my own router 1 hop away, the admin web page timed out. Other things like downloading software updates and online help seem to be unaffected. FTP connection sometimes stalls. SSH takes forever (~10 seconds) to get a login prompt. Connecting directly to the cable modem has no effect. No other PC in my home has any problem getting online. I've tried changing DNS servers with no luck. Same problems with Ubuntu running in a virtual box in Windows. I can get online in Safe Mode. During the malware detection there was a question about my proxy settings, which showed up in a system scan, slowing me down. I didn't think that was contributing to the problem, but I've since deleted them and still no improvement. I just completed a round of malware detection in the other forum and my system appears clean, so I decided to come here and give it a shot.

Started a upgrade of my firmware to Ver.2.0.03 (Build 10) for the E1200 H/W v2 and at 98% it stalled this was over wired connection and via http not https.
I'm really disappointed which this router because in all honesty its been one of the slowest I have ever bought whereas the Wireless-N doesn't truly work with N speeds being like 3-9Mbps where if I disable WMM and switch to B/G Only then my speeds jump to 20-30Mbps.
This issue started about 6 months ago. I have noticed the following issues:
1. I cannot download large files. It starts downloading then it stalls.
2. I cannot download videos on Youtube and other video site to stream the video. In [URL] the test shows 100% complete but the test keeps on running and upload speed goes down.while running the upload speed test on [URL] sometimes it cannot connect to server to upload the file. When it connects to the server I get error saying that it cannot read the file it uploaded.Had Comcast come out to take a look at the cable and they claim that it was the PC's fault and not the cables's fault. I have the cable coming out of the modem to a linksys router ( WRT54G), then to my PC. I connected the cable directly from the modem to the PC and still had the same proble.

I have the Dlink DIR-655, Rev-A, HW 1.35NA Wireless Router Before you ask, I have reset the router to factory defaults, and reinstalled the latest firmware twice, most recently after trying everything else I could think of.I have Cable internet, ALWAYS using wireless, NEVER using wired except for the router installs, which worked just fine until I switched from my old D-Link router to this 655 one a few weeks ago. Now, very frequently, I will open ANY webpage, and the internet will lag, 5, sometimes 10 or 15 seconds and then suddenly it will work properly for a while... only to happen again a little while later - completely randomly it seems.I wired the router to the computer to check to see if the lagging still happened, and everything was fine.I am using a 1-year old Dell laptop, using Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 Bit, and the Network Adapter is Intel WIFI Link 5300 AGN with the most up to date driver confirmed. Under the Advanced Tab for the Laptop's Network Adapter, the settings are as follows:
802.11n CHannel Width for band 2.4 - Value: 20MHz Only 802.11n CHannel Width for band 2.4 - Value: Auto 802.11n Mode - Value: Enabled
There are a number of other settings which I am confident are not relevant, but happy to provide The last setting is: Wireless Mode - Value: 6. 802.11a/b/g In the DLink Configuration, the relevant settings are:
802.11 Mode: Mixed 802.11N and 802.11G Wireless Channel is on 10, so as not to use the most common "11" Channel Width Auto 20/40MHz DNS Relay Enabled DHCP Server Enabled Range: 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199

Under WAN, the Primary DNS Server numbers are showing and the Secondary DNS Server numbers are showing as 0.0.0.0 McAffee Anti-Virus is up to date and shows no viruses, nor to the Dlink Logs - McAffee Firewall is turned off, Enable SPI in Dlink Settings is turned on.this problem only occurred when I switched routers recently, the old DlInk router I had never had this issue. And I am using a completely different network name with this new router to avoid any conflicts there. And this problem does NOT occur when hardwiring the laptop to the router directly, it only happens via wireless.Storage of the router is fine, it is in the same spot as the old router was, not to hot, not too cold, it didn't eat any metal for breakfast and there are no MRI machines within 10 miles.
I have configured a vlan interface on a 3750 switch. there is aprox 4Mb active traffic flowing through the interface, but when I do a "show interface vlan (vlanid)" the output show zero bits in and zero bits out. Its a typical L3 config with one IP on the vllan interface acting as the gateway for the VLAN devices. Is this a normal behaviur ? and if so is there any way to get the traffic in/out stats. The end PC/devices are connected to this switch via an L2 TRUNK and I dont have access to the L2 switch on which the actual devices connect. so cant get the real time stats of those interfaces.
Facing issue with 2960G switch , where its do not display "logging trap informational " in show running and show startup .where its showing all other levels from 0 to 5 and 7 after configuration and save commands. [code] after config getting saved , it do not shows in show runn or in show startup while for all other levels it do show the config lines .I tried the same on 12.55.SE release also but its same results . Is this a limitaion of this platform, is there any doc explaining the same for reference. [code]
I develop websites, and we moved a site from one server to another, and now I get the message the site has moved. I ran the cmd to clear the dns cache, but that didn't solve the issue. I tried stopping and restarting the client, that didn't work. It was already set to automatic. I am logged in to my laptop as an administrator. I tried to be the user Administrator, but it doesn't appear as a choice, but when I try to change my name, I get the message it is already in use. I am using XP Pro, SP3?
I have to do ipconfig /flushdns from my Laptop to access my PC, on my local network, for some reason when the Laptop is booted up.After that all works like it should. I made a batch file to do that command during Windows start up. Is there any reason why I have to do this or is it just something quirky with Windows? Both computers have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Both use the same DNS servers.
If we have the following setup:Host A (IP :192.168.1.1, Prefix/length : 24, GW : 192.168.1.254) connected to the Router A on int Fa0/1 (IP : 192.168.1.254), Router A is connected to Router B, Host B (IP :192.168.2.1, Prefix/length : 24, GW : 192.168.2.254),connected to Router B on int Fa0/1 (IP : 192.168.2.254).Using the mentioned setup, after Host A pings Host B successfully, which entry will be in the ARP cache of Host A to support the transmission ?.
How do I clear my router DNS cache on my ZyXEL P-660 router?I already cleared it on my PC with "ipconfig /flushDNS" in the command line but everyone sees my online IP camera, except me my online IP camera on LIVEwhen I try to access the camera URL i go to the router default/settings/home page
Every 2 minutes, I want to clear it, because some machines will be turned off. Currently, they will stay on on the left hand side of my host's window explorer.
I've successfully integrated ACS 5.3 with Active Directory for 802.1x implementation. Now i want to cache Active Directory users in ACS so that the user request from ACS does not go to AD every time.
After a certain time period the ACS database gets sync with AD.
We have an ASR1006 and I'm just discovering net flow aggregation cache.
I tried prefix aggregation and worked fine. But i cant get any information when checking AS aggregation. All I get is 0 in source and destionation AS. [code]
I have a 510a Cache engine and the IDE hard drive failed. I installed a new blank hard drive, but I can't get it to boot off of the new hard drive. Currently, I moved the original to Disk 1. I switched the boot up disk to disk 1. I was then able to setup the new hard drive (in disk 0). Everything is functioning, but I don't want to keep the dead hard drive in there. How do I setup a boot sector on the new hard drive?
