Any trouble with IOS XR licenses dissapearing after a power off ?I was able to add them correctly, but after the power off "show licenses" gives and empty message, but the logs states the licenses are already there.I'm working with a CRS-3 with IOS XR version 4.0.1.
View 1 RepliesI had lost power to my apartment and when everything came back on everything was working as normal...until about an hour later when my internet connection was sporadic at best. I called the ISP and they confirmed that the modem is fine. My other computers can connect to it via ethernet cable and wifi so it doesn't appear to be the router.
When I try to ping anything it seems to time out randomly.. (ran "ping Yahoo! -t1" and let it go for a while..times out every 10 requests or so).
I swapped out the ethernet cable but the LEDs on the NIC are Orange(Amber) for both cables. The wifi on the computer works fine. I reinstalled the driver for the NIC.

recently bought a new Linksys EA3500 that is connected to my SB5120 cable modem. For two weeks it's been running smoothly but when my cable modem is in need of a power cycle.I power cycle both the router and modem but my connection is lost. it's after countless hours of messing with the two I'll get the connection back but I'm afraid it'll lose connection again, that and I fear I may have enabled bad options.

Looking as my asa 5510 in my main office it appears that the connections to the other offices is not working..So could this be from the power outage.I don't know how or why it would change no setting have been changed..
But staff at remote offices cannot connect to the server..The error they see is the primary dns is not responding.
I am new to this and have ran into some problems. I butilt up my router I was able from the rom> prompt to get my router to boot from SLOT0:xxxxx
Then I did the copy command copy slot0:xxxxxxx bootflash:xxxxxxxMy router starts up fine. I did all my configurations and did my copy run start when I was done. As this is what I do on my 3750s.
My router lost power and rebooted and I lost everything it did not boot up to my last configuration.How do I save my configurations when I am done ? How do I get it to boot from that configuration every time?
I lost my power adapter for the WRT54G router. I have a 12V / 1000 mA brick adapter.

We have a 5520 ASA with a 100 user ssl license. We need to increase this but 250 is overkill. Is there an option to just add 50 more licenses or do we have to go up to 250?

We are looking at buying an ASR1001 but I'm confused by the Licenses and I've struggled to find the information in the cisco data sheets. The router will need to run IPSEC on gre tunnels and I figure that I need the IPSEC license (FLSASR1-IPSEC) do I also require the Advanced IP Services license? or is all that is required the IPSEC license? Is there some sort of list that shows the feature set of each license, they cost the same amount so I'm not sure which license fits what we require best or if we need both.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe've been upgrading our WLCs to 7.0.230.0 but I've notifced after they have been upgraded they no longer appear in the controller section in License Center on the WCS. They still exist in the WCS and the audit the configuration jobs are working. I've also tried manually triggering the Controller License Status background tasks and this runs without reporting any errors.I thought it may be because the WCS was at a lower version but I've now upgraded this to 7.0.230.0 also but the WLCs are still missing.

I have a Cisco ASA 5505 which is setup as an EasyVPN client to e remote VPN concentrator.The Cisco ASA has the 50 internal user license with 10 VPN peers.We just upgraded the license from the base 10 internal user to 50 user license but it has not resolved the problem and only 10 internal users still work, the 11th fails. Does each EasyVPN client on the inside network take up 1 of the 10 VPN peer licences? This seems to be the issue from what I can see, just need confirmation.

I realise now this comes with 10 internal users, 2 ssl and no anyconnect mobility. All these can be purchased as additional licenses.
Its my understanding that to support unlimmited Internal/Inside hosts - I need to purchase the L-ASA5505-SEC-PL (Security Plus License)
1) What is the model I should go for if I want to support unlimmited interneal. Can a 5505 be purchased with with security plus?

After stacking two 3750X switches, with four equal power-supply's, with StackWise and PowerStack , still got the next message every few hours %PLATFORM_ENV-1-FRU_PS_ACCESS: FRU Power Supply is not responding (gn4m-rt1p08-04-2)( note that the message revers to the second switch in the stack ) although the stackwise and powerstack on the switches is oke and are working correctly. !
Config : Stack-power in power-sharing mode/strict With CLI on the switch : All the power supply's and stack-power details, prio look OK.
Only: LMS prime /inventory/cisco-view/configure/power supply status result : some power supply's are marked as disabled.with the command > power supply 2 slot a off/on I manage to get the status back to "normal", but after a few hours some power supply's are again marked as "disabled".
Looks like SNMP en IOS difference from opinion.

I keep getting alerts from our WCS stating that our 1252s are drawing low power. Now I am aware that they require enhanced PoE (up to 20W) but as we only have standard PoE in that building we purchased the 1252 series power injectors to go with them.
However, even with the correct power injectors the WCS still reports the draws low power error.
Is this a bug? Running WCS 7.0.172 at the moment.
Forgot to say we are using the PWR-INJ4 and the injector status is enabled and you see the injector MAC address when you drill in to the AP status.
We have two switches of the same model (WS-C3560-48PS-S) that are not providing PoE. I'm trying to remotely determine what the cause of the issue is.

I have a 6500 chassis with 2 power supplies. At the moment I am using the default configuration:
power-redudancy mode redundant
The problem is that an inserted module is in "power deny" state due too insufficient power.
I know, that It's not a good idea to change into combined mode (loss of redundancy), but my customers requested this anyway.
So I will change to combined mode. So here's the 1 million dollar question: "Which modules will go into power deny, if one of my power supplies fails?"
The 6500 config guide states:
"Power supply is removed withredundancy disabled
• System log and syslog messages are generated.
• System power is decreased to the power capability of one supply.
• If there is not enough power for all previously powered-up modules, some modulesare powered down and marked as power-deny in the show power oper state field."
Well, do you know if there's any way to configure some kind of priority? E.g. I definetly don't want by 10Gig Module or WiSM module to be in power deny. Can i statically make sure, those module will be powered on for sure? Like: "power enable module slot_number" How is this calculated? Or is random?
In a stand alone 3750x switch configuration, can the secondary power supply only act as a redundant power supply (active/standby), or can it become a "pool" of power similar to power sharing mode for StackPower (somewhat active/active)? I understand there is no stack involved here but I'm curious if this functionality is possible.

1 . AIR-CAS-1KC-K9 - Context Aware License For 1K Clients and Tags (RSSI based)
2. AIR-CAS-1KT-K9 - Context Aware License For 1K Tags(RSSI, Chokeponts and TDOA)
For a regular network without any devices with tags such as RFID, I understand I do not need to get the .2, only .1, even though the .1 also is shared with clients at 1K of each. Also, the .2 does not say clients, only tags and advanced features as TDOA. Going through the Q&A it does not clearly says the difference, when to use one or the other.
Is there a maximum number of licenses for connections to a 877?The reason I ask is that our routers are managed by a datacentre and when I asked for the login details I was told that I couldnt have them due to licensing reasons with no other explanation.
