May 7, 2013i have a air-lap01131-ag-e-k9 that was originally in lightweight mode and configured with a controller, but i am in the process of wanting to convert to autonomous mode, i am having issues with connectivity to the AP from my laptop.
i have followed numerous guides on this forum, i have successfully
downloaded correct firmware
renamed the firmware to .default
placed this in root of tftp server folder
connected laptop via console to view output
connected laptop via Ethernet to Ethernet port of AP
changed static ip on laptop to 10.0.0.2 set subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, default gateway to 10.0.0.1
held reset button on AP when applying power and waiting for radio light to flash red
AP gets a IP address then of 10.0.0.1
But even though both laptop and AP are in the same subnet, i am unable to ping the AP from my laptop and it doesn't start the tftp process
I have disabled firewall etc, and tried with both crossover and straight through cable, it seems there is something missing at this last stage, i even tried on a second laptop but that would not ping either, am i missing something.

I want to convert this AP to lightway to use with this controller.
I download de Version of IOS (c1140-rcvk9w8-tar.124-21a.JA2.tar) from cisco and the upgrade tool. but when I start the process in the upgrade tool the result is "this version is not supported by the upgrade tool", it pass all the requested information but show this error at the end.

Apr 15, 2012Apparently converting autonomous 1142N to lightweight is not supported by ether WCS 7.0 or the Upgrade tool. The option is to do it manually with CLI, but there is about 200+ AP's that need converting. We can't do them all at the same time. We have to do it building per building.

Configurations for 1811 router, ap1121g root access point, ap1121g wgb.
Referring to the attached network diagram, I cannot communicate past the ap1121g-wgb in either direction. Also attached is a result table of ping attempts through the ap1121wgb from each side. I don't have a problem with the wireless connections. The ap1121g's associate ok. Based on the ping results the problem appears to be in the ap1121g-wgb configuration. Oct 4, 2011In CLI we have users log in at priv 1 and use "enable" to increase privilege and do configurations. This allows "accounting" of command history. On the AIR-AP1121G-A-K9 (12.3(8)JED1) I cannot duplicate this for http login.
I can log in as a user at priv 1. When I try to go to a privileged link like "Security" I get prompted for a second login/pw. Nothing works here unless I have a second user defined at priv 15 and enter that login/pw. The problem is - that login/pw can be used to log in via http in the first place which bypasses accounting of the actual user. It also allows login to the CLI at priv 15 which I cannot permit.

May 28, 2013i`m facing a problem configuring the mentioned access point to act as stand alone access point with multiple SSID assigned to differnet VLANs the problem is that
1) i`m not able to broadcast the both SSIDs in the same time from the Access point
2) i need to make the radius server to manage the SSID access for the wireless clients (trying to find a way in which the aceess point sends a log for the radius server containing the VLAN id /IP address of the the SSID) you may find the below info about the IOS ver. & the configuration?

I thought knew how to do this but having a problem.The problem I am having is that after I finish step 2 the router reboots with the browser trying to access it at the new ip address. But the browser will not connect.I am doing this on a laptop that is disconnected from my network while I am working on the E3200. It is connected by an ethernet cable. May 27, 2013I have an issue, of two parts. The first part I believe I have figured out, just the second part I am unsure of. I have an ASA 5510, currently, there is a mailserver that is static NAT'ed to one of my ISP routed IPs (not the IP of my main Dynamic PAT/Outside interface). I need to convert this over to PAT for ports 25,80,443, etc (standard ports). I know I need to remove the static NAT statement and add in the PAT statements, but I need traffic from that machine to continue to go out the IP assigned to it by the static NAT.
E.G.
1.1.1.1 <- main public IP on outside interface, everything gets internet through this IP
1.1.1.2 <-> 10.10.10.10 static NAT to mailserver, secured with ACLs
I need to enable the mailserver to continue to appear to the world as living on 1.1.1.2, due to MX records and rDNS settings, etc...
The terminology for this setup escapes me at the moment.
