i have a air-lap01131-ag-e-k9 that was originally in lightweight mode and configured with a controller, but i am in the process of wanting to convert to autonomous mode, i am having issues with connectivity to the AP from my laptop.
i have followed numerous guides on this forum, i have successfully
downloaded correct firmware
renamed the firmware to .default
placed this in root of tftp server folder
connected laptop via console to view output
connected laptop via Ethernet to Ethernet port of AP
changed static ip on laptop to 10.0.0.2 set subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, default gateway to 10.0.0.1
held reset button on AP when applying power and waiting for radio light to flash red
AP gets a IP address then of 10.0.0.1
But even though both laptop and AP are in the same subnet, i am unable to ping the AP from my laptop and it doesn't start the tftp process
I have disabled firewall etc, and tried with both crossover and straight through cable, it seems there is something missing at this last stage, i even tried on a second laptop but that would not ping either, am i missing something.

Apparently converting autonomous 1142N to lightweight is not supported by ether WCS 7.0 or the Upgrade tool. The option is to do it manually with CLI, but there is about 200+ AP's that need converting. We can't do them all at the same time. We have to do it building per building.

Cisco Small Business Switch POE ESW-520-24P with a Wireless Access Point Cisco Aironet AP1141. Both the devices are upgraded to the latest firmware.
Connected to the ESW-520-24P is a Windows 2008 SBS 2011 with DCHP and Domain Controller. Along with the server I have a number of wired computers connected to the switch which do not have any issues and connect to the DHCP server without any problems.
When connecting two wireless devices to the AP1141, they get the IP address and DHCP from the server; but when connecting other devices apart the first two they will fail to connect to the DHCP server and do not get any IP Address. They manage to connect to the Wireless access point but they cannot contact the DHCP server.

This is my first time trying to configure a WAP for out network. I have an AP1141 connecting to an SG300-28 switch. The subnet for my WAPs is 10.10. 40.0/ 24. The rest of my internal network is 10.10.10.0/24. There are four other WAPs on the 10.10.40.0/24 network that I did not configure. When I assign an IP address - 10.10.40.7 to my WAP with the gateway as 10.10.40.100 (router), I cannot ping anything. If I assign the WAP an IP address - 10.10.10.192 with the gateway 10.10.10.100 (router), I can ping everything.

I have an ADSL router like the one showed below & internet from the provider via a RJ45 cable.
I need to share the incoming internet from the RJ45 cable to the remaining three RJ45s & over the wireless. How to configure the router to get this working?
Also the internet provider needs me to authenticate via their default webpage before I can access the internet & I can say it doesn't have any MAC binding.

How do I convert my wireless router to a wireless AP (Access Point)? While connected to the main router go Start then Run in XP - (Windows key plus R in Vista and Windows 7), then type in the following, including all the spaces:- cmd /k ipconfig /all -- then press Enter and from the black form that shows up, take a note of the numeric code beside the word "gateway" -- usually something like 192.168.0.1. Type exit to close the black form. Now connect the router to be converted only to a computer via network cable and log in Setup the wireless security Disable the DHCP and change the LAN IP to match the gateway IP but ending in something like .253 Finally connect one of the four LAN ports of the AP to the main router, do NOT use the WAN port.

Now I'm trying to write software that get information from Syslog message, but I'm facing with the problem about getting statistic of client de-authenticated in a WLC (Software Version: 7.0.98.0), because I cannot find any log about this information on WLC except only this SNMP trap:
Tue Aug 23 09:52:28 2011Client Deauthenticated: MACAddress:00:xx:77:2c:06:db Base Radio MAC:00:xx:5d:0c:fc:30 Slot: 0 User Name: unknown Ip Address: 10.2xx.47.15 Reason:Unspecified ReasonCode: 1
So, is there any way that I can configure WLC to convert this SNMP trap to send to Syslog server as a normal Syslog message?

I have a Belkin f5d7234-4 lying around at home. I also have a Panasonic TV which requires a proprietary wifi donge to get a wireless signal, so my question is, can I use the router to recieve my house Wifi (broadcast by my new NetGear Router) and send it out through its Ethernet port to the TV?
I checked, the router doesn't have ddwrt support, I'm new to hacking around with routers and networks, so I don't know how to do this, I see how it is logically possible
