View 1 RepliesI found this "VWIC2-2MFT-G703 1841 - 3845 tied to platform slot density" from Cisco web site, does it mean if Cisco 1841 have two wic slots I can put two VWIC2-2MFT-G703 in this chassis.

We have 2 x C6506E and 2 x C3560-48's, they are all interconnected via port channels at 2Gb per channel. The 6506's are running CEF but the 3560's are not (The 3560's carry all our server traffic). When I do a show CEF on the 3560's it says %IPv4 CEF not running. There does not appear to be a global command to enable CEF on these switches. Is this an IOS version option or is not supported on the hardware platform?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was contacted by a customer today who is trying to configure QoS on a 4500E with Sup7-E. They are running:
cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.02.00.SG.150-2.SG.bin
And the 4500 is licensed for enterprise Services. I don't have access to the switch and am looking for configuration documentation and I am not finding the necessary configuration guides.
Just received a couple of new 4500e chassis with the 2800ACV power supplies installed. I have not seen the cables they come with standard, the plug ends are considerably thicker than normal, what is the deal, do we need an electrician to come out and rewire or purcahse new powerboards?
View 2 Replies View Related client originally connects to the 4500E, moves to the 2960s and then cannot connect back to the 4500E.My design is a 4500E (configured for routing) and a 2960s. The 2960s is trunked to the 4500E, no vlan pruning.
Tried;
- shut/no shut port on the 4500E doesn't work
- no result for sh ip arp | i (clients mac) or sh mac address | i (clients mac) on the 4500E
The only way I can get the user back online is removing the 2960s, not a desirable solution as other clients are on the 2960s.
Is there any sup for 4500E with DECnet routing support?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe DHCP/DNS server is on ip address 10.1.100.103 with an alt on .102 I'm attempting to integrate a 4510R+E into an existing network and use existing DHCP/DNS windows 2008 server to push out IP addresses to connected computers.
I want to assign a VLAN to every port for management purposes and then I put an IP helper address on every VLAN.
I've attached a the 4500E partial config. I'm attempting to get Gi1/44 to a state where I can plug a computer into it an resolve an ip address and gain internet access like all the devices on the existing network can do.
I've created a new scope in DHCP with the ip subnet of 10.60.211.0 255.255.255.0 It leases addresses from .1 to .253
The computer will not resolve ip addresses with this config.
I have cat4500 with subject module. There is strange behaviour over module installed in 3rd slot only, some ports are connected, UP & working fine. But If I am connecting new ports over same module, are not coming UP.Duplex/speed settings already checked & are fine. If i connect same machine to any other module, it perfectly comes up & operation is fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem connecting a PC in a TwinGig Convertors (GLC-LH-SM). I want to connect a PC with a fiber cable on the supervisor WS-X45-SUP6L-E of my Switch 4500E.
The default configuration mode is X2. As I want to deploy Gigabit interfaces (that is, use TwinGig Convertors), then I configured the associated port-group:
Switch(config)#hw-module module 1 port-group 2 select gigabitethernet
*Feb 24 06:18:37.125: Port Te1/2: TwinGig Converter inserted: vendor: CISCO
Switch(config)#do sh int status mod 1
Port Name Status Vlan Duplex Speed Type
[code]....
I noted that the Swicth set up automatically 'switchport mode trunk', so i put the command 'swicthport mode access' because i want to connect only a PC. But the status is the same, I can not achieve connectivity. i just want to know how connect a PC in the interface GigabitEthernet1/4 of the supervisor engine of my Switch.
can i use a cat 5 cable to extend a 9 pin serial cable to connect my PC to my home audio controller? I have a serial to USB converter but my PC is upstairs and my audio component is downstairs?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working with a Cisco Unified CM 7.0There are sevral ip phones in the place.ach phone has a 3 digit extension tied to it. no matter where on the network that phone is plugged in that phone has the same extension. This is a problem because one phone (extension 134) is damaged and was swapped out with a phone that has extension 102. I want that phone that has extension 102 to have the extension 134 instead. So that is my problem. I must say I am merely a CCNA and I have no idea about this voip stuff. I thought it was a simple log in to the server and make a single change. boy was I wrong. I clicked on call routing, then I clicked on Directory number and I got a list of all the DNs. I then click on extension 102 and 134. I noticed the MAC of the respective phones was in a field titled associated devices. I then dissociated both phones thinking I could just associate the appropriate phones next. as soon as I hit save that entire section disappeared. Now those extension aren't tied to any phone and once more those phones now have no extensions. I am freaking out because I can't undo this. I've clicked on literally every single option inside this server. I am in way over my head. I will include a picture to illestrate what I am talking about.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've recently obtained a Cisco Aironet 1242AG WAP. I do realize this is not a standalone router. I would like to use it as an extension of my current router. So right now, the status light is alternating colors. If I understand this correctly, it cannot find the controller. I cannot telnet into it, or use the web broswer interface. They both say the connection is not available. However, when I check my DHCP table from my router, I see that an IP has been assigned to the MAC for the WAP. I've tried doing a factory reset by holding MODE before I plug in the power, and waiting until it turns amber. After a few minutes and going through a few LED changes, it goes back to continuosly alternating colors.

But, you can read in another sentence: " Beginning with Cisco IOS Release 12.2(25)SG, you could simultaneously deploy the dual 10-Gigabit.Ethernet ports and the four Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports on the Catalyst 4503, Catalyst 4506, and Catalyst 4507R chassis." Is it posible deploy simultaneously both type of ports?

now the extension does power the adapter, but the cpu doesnt seem to recognize the adapter is plugged in, but if i plug the adapter straight into the computer then it all works fine.
other people seem to have no problem at all doing this to achieve better signal.

I have been rolling out new IP Phones that use extension mobility and the biggest issue Im finding is the need to log-in every day, People t like change and they hate the fact that they have to login every day.I have been to the people at the top and gave them the options of remembering the last user logged so users just need to enter their pin or have EM not log users out at all… both got rejected.

In CUCME if you do not configure any translation rules and leave the system mainly at default, when a call is routed to the PSTN the CUCME system sends the true calling party ID which would be a users extension number. Is it correct to assume that a CUCM server based system, when too left at the majority of default (without translation rules or stripping etc) that it will send the true calling ID to the gateway?
