I have cat4500 with subject module. There is strange behaviour over module installed in 3rd slot only, some ports are connected, UP & working fine. But If I am connecting new ports over same module, are not coming UP.Duplex/speed settings already checked & are fine. If i connect same machine to any other module, it perfectly comes up & operation is fine.

I want to be sure that these are the only needed comands and that they won t generate any disruption.
I have a problem with x4648-rj45V+E module, which is not forwarding frames/packets in my 4507E switch. I have done the diagnostic and the module test is passed. When i try to ping from one PC to another in the flat network, icmp is not forwarding. Even i cannot see the mac addresses in the mac address-table. But i can ping to my management port in the sup module?

View 2 Replies View RelatedA product I could have used a number of times is a expanded version of the C3KX-NM-1G device module. To include 2 or maybe 4 more SFP ports. From the layout behind the faceplate there is plenty of space which additional circuit boards could be placed, (which is used in the 2 port 10GB version). I don't need the 12 port fiber switch that Cisco has, because I need a few RJ45 connection at that location, which I would then have to buy additional Fiber to coper Gbics for a few connections where the switch is at. The reason I need something like this is I have a few locations which I get a main feed from the City fiber, then it gets sent out to a number of local buildings on my fiber. Maybe another option is to take the 12port switch, and have an option for 6 rj45 and 6 sfp connections.

And the 4500 is licensed for enterprise Services. I don't have access to the switch and am looking for configuration documentation and I am not finding the necessary configuration guides.
Just received a couple of new 4500e chassis with the 2800ACV power supplies installed. I have not seen the cables they come with standard, the plug ends are considerably thicker than normal, what is the deal, do we need an electrician to come out and rewire or purcahse new powerboards?
View 2 Replies View Related client originally connects to the 4500E, moves to the 2960s and then cannot connect back to the 4500E.My design is a 4500E (configured for routing) and a 2960s. The 2960s is trunked to the 4500E, no vlan pruning.
Tried;
- shut/no shut port on the 4500E doesn't work
- no result for sh ip arp | i (clients mac) or sh mac address | i (clients mac) on the 4500E
The only way I can get the user back online is removing the 2960s, not a desirable solution as other clients are on the 2960s.
I have some cisco 4500E with sup7l-e and I want config acces port(with non-cisco ip phone), that cos and dcsp mark does not change.

I noted that the Swicth set up automatically 'switchport mode trunk', so i put the command 'swicthport mode access' because i want to connect only a PC. But the status is the same, I can not achieve connectivity. i just want to know how connect a PC in the interface GigabitEthernet1/4 of the supervisor engine of my Switch.
Will there be some pause in traffic on formed ether channel interfaces (4500E switch), when i will change the default ether channel load balancing method to src-dst-port (or any other non-default method)?

If it's done on a 6500 with a WS-X6148-GE-TX linecard it effectivley can only reach 1gb throughput.
I am going to install new Nexus 7K. Installed SUP and one 32-Port 10Gb module. We have recently purchased 2 x 4900M switches with the following configuration:
2 x X2-10GB-SR installed in port te1/1, 1/2 (optical)
1 x 20 x 1GB RJ45 installed in the top left of chasis ge2/1 - 2/20
1 x WS-X4908-10G-RJ45 8 port 1/2 card in the top right of chassis te3/1 - 3/8
We have te1/1 connecting the 2 switches, and various vlan's and connections on the 1GB RJ45's with no problems.
However, we have a number of 10Gbps BaseT connections te3/1 - te3/5 which are causing us issues. On a reload of the switch or removal / re-install of the cable it can take anywhere up to an hour for the port to become active again. So when we reload the switch, we may get a connection come up after say 3 mins, but the port next to it may not come up for 15-60 min. The cabling is all the same (CAT6 and has been tested/verified) and all connections go to Broadcom 10Gb cards in Dell 820 servers running vmware. We have the following set on the ports:
switchport mode access
spanning-tree portfast
No speed or duplex can be set on these ports - these options are not available in the config.
Once a link is finally established, it will hold the link solid with no problems, but this is a problem for us, we can't have a reboot take an undetermined amount of time for the link to come back.
Is there a command that can be used to view what type of SFP module that is installed in Catalyst 3750 switch?

No status lights turn on at any point (e.g. syst, xps...). 10g network module is installed with a 10g LRM SFP. All lights on the module are amber. However, it passes according to POST. Switch passes traffic, obeys config, etc. Link lights on RJ45 ports work fine. This was brand new out of the box. Thinking about trying IOS reload..
