Im unable to access my newly configured 1841 via SSH or via CCP from the WAN side.
Is there anything I can do from the LAN side in CCP that will assure that this router is able to be managed from the WAN?
I am having some trouble configuring dual NAT on a Cisco 1841.
The 1841 has three interfaces.
Fa0/0 - LAN
Fa0/1- Different private network
Fa0/1/0 - Connection to DSL modem
NAT overloading is configured on Fa0/1 and we have traffic that must be router there. We would like to have all internet access go through the DSL modem. Currently internet access is obtained through fa0/1 but is not ideal. I have floating static routes configured if the DSL link goes down. (Which is currently unplugged) I do not have physical access to the router at this moment. We would like to keep the config a simple as possible. It seems like route-maps may be one of our only options.
I have configured Cisco 1841 router PAT buts its not worked, find the below configuration details,
In LAN interface

Similarly I have configured static and dynamic nat but its not works in my customer place.
I am testing rogue on wire using 5508 WLC and , I have a dedicated AP configured as rogue detector and configured the switch port where the Rogue detector is connected as trunk. I have plugged in an autonomous AP with open authentication to the same switch so that it can act as a rogue. On the WLC, I can see that Autonomous AP as rogue on Wire. But along with that I am seeing another AP as rogue on wire, even though i have plugged in only one Autonomous AP to the switch.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI need to Upgrade my NCS to version 1.1.0.58. Actually my NCS is in the version 1.0.1.4 and i have a lot of templates configured and 1500 Access Points applied.
I have 5 WLCs and will do too the upgrade in the WLCs to version 7.2.130.0.
Will I lose some configuration with these upgrades ? Because the version 1.1.0.58 has more features than version 1.0.1.4 in the NCS and the WLC was adjusted some bugs.
The configurations that i has in the NCS version 1.0.1.4 is H-REAP and in the version 1.1.0.58 will be the FlexConnect, theoretically is the same, but i don't know if the configuration is the same in the two versions.
Can i do a downgrade in the NCS from version 1.1.0.58 to 1.0.1.4 if i have problems ? I was looking for a document who show how can i do this, but i didn't find nothing about.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have received from a customer of us an WRT54GL box configured with a Coova software. This Wifi router was supposed to be a Wifi hotspot, but was not configured by us. This box is able, on startup, to get an IP by DHCP, to touch a remote Radius server, and so on (we "tcpdump" the Internet traffic, and we saw DNS requests, radius requests, ...)...
But, we are unable to connect to this box,by SSH or by HTTP, either by plug-in PC to the Internet RJ45 or the LAN RJ45. It has no IP as 192.168.1.1. Instead, it was configured to have 192.168.1.1 as gateway.
Of course, we have no doc on previous install, but only the admin/root password for SSH.We are afraid to lose the config (coova, ...) if we perform a hard reset.What is the best way for connecting on this box ?
I've got an existing Cisco 1841 connecting to a 10Mbps Internet Leased line. With my current setup I've configured PAT for internet access for my users, and we also have some servers on site which are assigned public ip addresses, these can be accessed from the internet. Now we have procured a Cisco 1921 ISR to replace the old 1841, when I connect the 1921 with an identical configuration in place of the old router, 2 things happen.
1) The users accessing the net via the nat are able to work without any inconvenience (good)
2) My servers which have public IP addresses are unable to reach the internet and subsequently I am unable to reach them via the internet (very bad)
I'm unable to connect to the internet?My university gave us student permission toset up a cisco lab. I hve an 1841 router and a 2950 catalyst switch in a single room. Fa0/1 is conncted to the switch using a 192.168.3.0 /24 network. DHCP is correctly assaigning ip addresses to the switch.
I connected the Fa0/0 port to the wall and used the following command to obtain an ip on the Fa0/0 port: ip adress dhcp. I used the following route command: ip route dhcp. That didn't work so I used the ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Fa0/0.When I run the sh cdp neighbors command I see a multilayer switch that show me connected to the Ga2/26 port with ip:192.168.179.254.I also see that the default vlan is 200 and the voice vlan is 800.
A linksys router is about to let us access the internet. I am able to ping the 192.168.179.254 address from the 1841 router.What am I missing to connect to the internet.I forgot to mention that I successfully receive an ip from the wall. The latest ip I received was 192.168.179.100 /24.
We have an autonomous AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9 AP with software release version 12.4(25d)JA1. The access point is configured and an SSID is broadcasted. However when users are trying to connect to the AP, authentication seems to be accepted but users are not connected. I suspected the issue in DHCP but even on static IP the user is not connected.I dont believe any LAN issue is there cause I connected a PC to the same interface where the AP is connected and it took an IP from the required VLAN (1234) [code]

We have purchased a 2901 router with permenant licenses for ipbase, security and uc. The router came shipped with c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.150-1.M3.bin but there are newer releases available. I understand that our licenses will cover us to upgrade to the latest version, c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-4.M.bin, but when I attempt to download I am denied.
How do I go about downloading and upgrading?
RARP (Reverse Address Resolution Protocol) is a protocol by which a physical machine in a local area network can request to learn its IP address from a gateway server's Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) table or cache. A network administrator creates a table in a local area network's gateway router that maps the physical machine (or Media Access Control - MAC address) addresses to corresponding Internet Protocol addresses.When a new machine is set up, its RARP client program requests from the RARP server on the router to be sent its IP address. I haven't done anything yet, as i haven't received the modem in the mail yet, but i want to be prepared and knowledgeable when it all arrives. Here are my questions I've heard that running this router/modem setup on the N band at 5Ghz provides the best signal strength. How do i configure this? The main goal is to take advantage of as much of the 50mb/s as i can (i know this number is not practical due to overhead estimations etc).My newly built desktop has one free PCI-E slot (the other is occupied by my EVGA GTX 670) and 1 or 2 PCI slots. What's the best option to give my desktop wifi capabilities (pci card or usb adapter) in order to maximize signal strength? I know the modem is working properly since my laptop and itouch can connect to the internet wireless. The desktop can recognize the modem and it says it's connected to the modem but it says the modem isn't connected to the internet. I dunno what to do I've got the LAN drive installed all the neccesary requirements for the desktop but it just won't connect

Totally bizarre, right?I just built a new computer with a fresh install of Windows 7. I set it up directly connected to the router, where I applied all windows updates. I then moved it to where my old computer is, which uses a wall port to connect to the router in another room, where this new computer then fails to connect to the internet or to the router's setup. The new computer's Ethernet LEDs will light up, and the computer will automatically obtain an IP address, but will not connect to the internet or even the router setup.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a WMP54GS Installed in a SONY VAIO with a Pentium 4 2.6 ghz processor, 2 gb of DDR Ram, and Just over 60 GB of Hard Drive space. I've run this setup for over two years at this point, all on an XP operating System, from sp1 all the way up to sp3 with no issues. A week ago I ended up with a trojan on my system, and had to do a full recovery. This time I used an XP Pro copy that came with sp2. Not the same copy of XP that had been running previously. Needless to say when I had the OS finally installed and running, it didn't recognise my wireless adapter. I figured I needed to run through the same process as I had when I first purchased the adapter, and took the card out, ran the intsallation disc, followed the intructions, powered off, and reinserted the card. When I booted back up, there was simply a gray box in the lower left showing "disabled". I clicked on it, and it showed that there were no networks in range, when there should have been several. The only tab on the screen that I was able to click was "exit". I wasn't able to perform manual setup, and when I clicked the "xp setup" option, nothing happened. I was unable to find the device in the device manager (though it may be in the "other devices" list with a question mark, but I can't tell. Would it be something like "network controller" or "ethernet device"?) It doesn't appear in my network connections either. The LED on the card itself is dormant. Nothing happening. I figured at this point that it must not be fastened adequatly to the PCI slot. So I opened the case, took the card out, and fastened it back in nice in tight. No more give, and in the same slot it had always been in when operating properly. Still the same issue. I've done this a couple more times now, and with the same results. I just don't get it. I've followed the intrsuctions to the letter, and no results. Do I perhaps need to skip the cd and try to install the latest drivers for the card instead? Will that allow my PC to recognise it? I have another machine in my home, and can download a driver and transfer it by disc or flash drive to the other machine if need be.

is there a command that prevents the router from sending the syslog to the server?
I am just setting up a simple scenario with a 1841. Server @ 172.31.1.1 cannot ping 172.31.0.254 or 172.31.0.105. It can ping 172.31.1.250. The router can, on the other hand, ping devices on both networks. This is just for testing routing theory so I don't know why hosts on either side of the network cannot ping each other.
I am only using the FastEthernet interfaces on Router 1841.
I am trying to configure a newly installed HWIC-4ESW on a 2811 router to bridge to the FE 0/0 interface. Currently, I have a cheap switch connected to FE 0/0 which in turn connects to all the phones, however now I just want to connect all the phones to the HWIC and have it internally bridge to FE0/0 for the connectivity to CME, etc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have new DIA Internet service coming in and unlike the last vendor who provided a router, I am configuring my own. This is my first full Cisco config - I've been looking at this for 3 days now. I have SIP signalling, rtp and default traffic on a (3) t1 multilink (4.5mb). My lan and firewall uses dscp tags and passes them to the 1841 for outbound. The ISP only prioritizes by destination address so I just need the 1841 to respect the tags internally. Inbound, I have only port numbers to go by to differentiate voice traffic and I want to tag EF and CS3 accordingly for use by the 1841 and the rest of my network.
Below is part of my proposed config. I have read tons of Cisco docs and looked at all the queuing methods and this one I understand the best. I am getting the error: "CBWFQ : Can be enabled as an output feature only", so I presume that something is wrong on an input definition somewhere. For now all the firewall functions are done at the actual firewall (Sonicwall NSA) so other than limiting ports to the PBX everything else is just pass-through. Any changes required. IOS is 12.4(4)T1.

I was able to configure the cisco to accept VPN connections from clients. But when i am connected i can not access the VPN LAN. My cisco VPN client shows all the time Packet Decrypted: 0 when connected. I tried the split tunneling configuration based on the example on cisco.com for split tunneling.
I include config for better understanding. The outside interface is fa0/1 with ip 10.0.0.2 w LAN 10.0.0.0 Inside interface fa0/0 with ip 192.168.10.9 w LAN is 192.168.10.0
IP for VPN clients 192.168.20.100 - 105
I have a branch office connected to the Head Office through a VPN Tunnel in cisco 1841 Router. If i enable Internet for any pc in Branch Office through cisco router i cannot access it remotely from Head Office. [code]
