when I start the router , I can't enter the IOS , and it enther the ROMMON mode , the error display probably is : the flash is invalid.I want to import an new IOS into the flash, but it says the space is not enough.how I confirm the flash is broken?It's any other ways to solve this problem except to change the flash?

Should I take this to mean after the first time it won't prompt them again for a password? I was wondering If my roommate wants to use my internet account if she can use the guest account every time without a password or not. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an E2500 router. When I enter 192.168.1.1 as a web address I am asked for a User name and password. When I do not enter anything for user name and put “admin” in password the screen again asks me for the same two things and eventually goes to a 401 message.
When I enter admin in user name and my secure password to allow devises to connect to the network it lets me in. I thought the password to enter the system settings and the one to enter the network are usually separate. When I open the Cisco Connect program and go into the various menus there my “secure” password is written and visible for anyone who clicks it. Is this how it is supposed to work?Also, how do I occasionally change the password to enter into the network.
I'm trying to setup a Linksys wireless-g router model number WRT54G with my DSL connection. I followed the basic instructions that came with the router and towards the end of the process it says detecting network settings with a % bar. The bar fills to 100% and then asks for a password. I've tried the password my DSL company gave me along with various other things like admin etc. After I enter the password I hit enter and it just asks me for the password over and over again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe first time I tried to connect to a new secured wireless network, I was prompted to a WPA key but didn't have it to hand so clicked away. Now when I click on any secured network that is showing up as in range, I get an error message saying Windows cannot connect and the selected network may be out of range.
I can connect to an unsecured network and to the desired network via ethernet cable. Secured WiFi was working fine when I was at home but I'm now in a different country, don't know if that could affect it somehow.

In the past, I had a PPTP server running behind a NAT and I used Pass Through to get external clients (Macs) to connect to my local LAN. But now I would like to use the Cisco Router's VPN capabilities to set up VPN and shut down the PPTP server in my LAN.I have a couple of fixed IP addresses that end up on this router, wit ISP-based 'technical' domain names (e.g. foo.static.isp.com) with reverse lookup, so using those, I should be able to connect to my RV220W from the outside.

Those are no longer manufactured though, so I bought a Cisco WRVS4400N for our new office. The main office has a fixed IP but the branch office ha a dynamic one. Three computers, all running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, are members of a Homegroup that functioned perfectly for more than a year until Tuesday of this week. On Tuesday, I installed Windows updates and also updated from Norton 360 v5 to v6.Computer A and B don't have password protected logins to Windows; Computer C is password protected. Until Tuesday, A and B have never been required to enter a password to access shared files and folders on C. Computer A still communicates fine in both directions with B and C, without having to enter C's Windows login credentials. B can be accessed by C, but when B attempts to access the C libraries that are shared by C to the Homegroup, the appropriate shared folders are shown (Documents, Pictures, etc.), but instead of their usual icons, the icons look like this: url... and if I try to click on them, I am prompted for a Network Password like this: url... The name following "Enter your network password to connect to:" is the name of C, and the "Domain" shown below the password block is the name of B. (Domains aren't even possible with Home Premium, are they?)
If I enter C's username and password I can access C from B, but upon rebooting B it starts all over again, even if I click "Remember my credentials." Sometimes I don't get the prompt and instead am told that I don't have permission to view
I changed my router from Belkin F5D 7633-4 (G) to Belkin F5D 8636-4 v2 (N) on the 7633 I was able to set up virtual server page and access my CCTV cameras remotely with no problem but on the 8636 with the same info into virtual servers page I get "No 1 WAN address is invalid".The format of the page is slightly different the 7633 required "inbound Port" number to be put in twice in different boxes side by side and the same with "Private Port".The 8636 has only one box to enter the port number under each heading.

"username USER password 5 SOMEPASS role network-admin"
It consistently outputs: "String failed to match token pattern at '^' marker." - always the carat is at the first character in whatever password I input. I've ensured passwords I input meet the conditions of "password strength-check" and I have also disabled this feature and repeated with numerous passwords to no effect.
I tired to upgrade the flash memory on my 871. I have tired to send single break and removing the flash card to drop the 871 to rommon. but no luck, all i get is the below error. I have try restart button on the back and get the same results. How to get the router into rommon mode so i can place the IOS on the flash ?

When I go to the license page in the router, there is a link to renew, but that just takes me to the website to enter the new key code, then receive an activation code. There is not howver any link to enter the activation code. I assume that once the license actually expires, the activation link will then show up, but there must be a way to get to this page ahead of time.

I we manually replace "cisco6a19c4" with 1.1.1.1 it works as it should, the login page appears, we login and can access the internet.We have tested and disabled web-auth on the ssid an everything works, we can directly go out on the internet, DNS works without any problems. [code]Guest network (VLAN) is transfered from WLC via the trunk to the Cat4503 and then connected on a access-port to a separate broadband-router, then to the inetrnet.DHCP to guest-users from separate broadband-router which is def gwy and "DNS".On the virtual interfaces no hostname is configured.

I have a catalyst 3550 and will be using it to run my cisco 7940 and 7960 ip phones with POE. When I plug the phones into the switch they power up just fine but the phones will not dial out as they have little x's by the line. I have also tried going through the set up of the 3550 but get stuck in one place. When I go to the 10.0.0.0, the screen will not allow me to enter the telnet page or allow me to enter any information. In the manual it shows a pic of what the screen should look like when I go to 10.0.0.1, but I am getting an entirely different page.
What I need to do to get everything set up correctly?
