Opening a connection to integrated AP801 wireless device for performing wireless configuration tasks, the connection is established OK, authentication is passed OK using credentials from main configuration file, gaining level 15 privileges with enable command, but after that... no way to enter "Global Configuration mode" because there are no "configure" family commands present!!! Simply can't say "Conf t" because there is no such command!
I bought a Cisco Wireless AIR-CAP2602i-E-K9 and have some practice on Cisco routers, but can not log in "Global Configuration Mode", not existe the command "Configure". How active configuration?
I came across an interesting issue and thought I would see if anyone else has encountered it before contacting TAC.I have two Cisco Catalyst WS-4510R-E switches with a single Supervisor V module in each chassis. Both Sup cards are now running 12.2(54) SG1; ipbasek9 firmware; yes, I plan to move both switches to 15 code but that's another story. Anyways, prior to the upgrade the one switch was running 12.2 (33) code; I suspect the code was never upgraded; running ipbase non - K9 code. The other switch was running 12.2(44) with K9 prior to upgrade to 12.2(54).

Any issue creating a guest vlan to use the WIFI on an 891W router? The IOS is version 15.1. I have created discreet Vlan's and setup subinterfaces on both the WLAN_AP0 and GigaEthernet 0 interfaces with dot1q encapsulation. The client will receive an IP from the pool but cannot ping or connect beyond the default gateway.
The external interface is using Nat overload and all wired clients are successful in connecting to outside addresses. I have insert a permit any statement in the acl which affects the external port but still no success.
What I currently have is a Cisco 891W Router as well as two ISP's (both with dynamic IP's) in. I'm currently just running one of my modems into the 891 through the FE8 port and then if for some reason I have an internet failure switching the ISP modems. What I'm wondering is if there is a fairly simple way to configure (and attach) both modems to this router and then set it up to handle this failover automatically?
I just received a Cisco Aironet 1130 AG wi-fi router to configure and when I entered the router through console, I am not able to get into config mode. It says:
AP588d.09a7.93e4#conf t ^ % Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
Also,
AP588d.09a7.93e4#sh start startup-config is not present
Also, this is what I see in my flash:
AP588d.09a7.93e4#sh flash: Directory of flash:/ 3 -rwx 217 Mar 01 2002 00:07:10 +00:00 env_vars 4 drwx 128 Jan 01 1970 00:02:03 +00:00 c1130-rcvk9w8-mx.bin
I need to configure this device and set up for wi-fi access in my organisation network.
i have a home lab network that is connected to my internet. I basically have a linksys router connected to cable modem and in order for my families internet to not go down while testing and learning my CCNA I am trying to treat the Linksys as the ISP.
1. Plugged my 891W router via FASTETHERNET 8 (192.168.1.10) into LAN Switch port 1 of my Linksys E4200 home router(192.168.1.1).
2. I plugged my 891W Gigabit 0 (10.10.10.1) LAN side into my 2950 Catalyst Switch (10.10.10.5 - VLAN 1)
3. my 2950 Catalyst switch (10.10.10.5 - Vlan 1) is plugged into my 2600 series router via the routers FE port (10.10.10.2).
There is a few more routers connected behind r2 but I am not dealing with them right now and there is also a switch connected into s1 but its not being used for this.
891w is labled r1 2950 is labled s1 2600 is labeled r2

I can ping all over my homelab everything I can reach as long as I have a protocol up but I cannot reach the WAN IPs. I watched video by Jeremy Ciorara and I tried to follow the wan and nat part from a website [URL] And none of its working. I am not sure if this is a case where a private IP cannot function as a ISP and I am breaking some rule thats not mentioned in CCNA studies or if its something else. I tried these commands from Jeremy Video:
r1(config)#ip access-list standard "NAT_ADDRESSES" r1(config-std-nacl)#permit any r1(config)ip nat inside source list NAT_ADDRESSES interface fastEthernet 8 overload
However they did not work it was pretty close to whats in the basic website up there I listed as well. I think I went back to the basic configuration in the config file post above. Its really frustrating as I follow directions and they do not seem to work. I understand I am using my private 192.168.1.0 subnet as an ISP and maybe that has something to do with it but when yoru first learning and things dont work its kind of overwelming as you have problems seeing the big picture and dont yet trust in things you have learned as they are unfamiliar so its easy to get lost.
First time I have create SVI interface on C6500 and enable trunk on interface that connected to SW2960 and SW2960 assigned access vlan 100 on port connected to Notebook. Then I tried to ping from Notebook to C6500 on SVI100 which work fine.
Second time I tried to enable MST on C6500 and after that everything still working and I can ping from Notebook to SVI100 on C6500.
Third time I tried on turn on dot1ad in global configuration mode and from now I can't ping from Notebook to C6500.
Forth time I tried to disable dot1ad from global configuration by "no dot1ad" command and then I can ping.
My intention is I would like to do EVC which require dot1ad in global configuration but I stuck in third step and don't know what's does it mean for this command and how I can resolve this issue?

Recently we have configured new site where we are unable to ping global DNS from routers and switches.Checked in the firewall ICMP is allowed. The thing we did is we made Native vlan as vlan 10 (Data vlan ) instead of vlan1. Do this is the issue for not pinging.
Unable to enter global QoS commands on the 4500E chassis? We're using 12.2(53)SG. If I go to 'conf t', there is no 'qos' command. In the configuration manuals I've seen for the 4500, the following commands seem to be supported:
I am not able to connect to any webpages in normal mode, even after restarting i still have the same problem [However it works in safe mode with networking]. The network connections show that it is connected and the signal strength is excellent. I then have to keep restarting the laptop like 3 to 4 times and it works. Its kind of frustrating to keep doing this all the time and besides i am scared by restarting the laptop so many time can harm it.
I am having problems connecting an 891w to a WLC, is it possible to have to separate vlans, one for the Lan ports and another for the AP module.
I do not want the AP part of the 891w in autonomous mode. The WAN port of the router will be connected to a DSL type service.
Is there a guide or something to get a 891W to connect to the WLC?
I would like to have users on a data vlan (vlan1) connecting to the network like a normal router, then the AP module to connect to the WLC via a different IP probably vlan 2
On the WLC itself i do not see any attempts in the logging.
How can I enter into "interface configuration" on Aironet 1130AG, AIR-LAP1042N?When I put following commands in enable conf tinterface Dot11Radio1 but, it fails and I cannot enter into "interface configuration".How can I do this ?The reason why I enter into conf tinterface Dot11Radio1 because I want to disable cdp via CLI ( serial console).
how to configure an AIR-LAP521-G-E-K9 wireless access point in standalone mode? I've tried connecting it to a standard 1GB switch, feed it with IP address via DHCP it responds to PING but when it comes to detect it in CCA (3.1) it says unable to connect without even asking for username and/or password. Trying to connect to it through HTTP or HTTPS doesn't work either.
I have an 891W with the internal AP. I want to update the AP's software but can't find anywhere to get it on Cisco's site. If I go to Download All, Routers, 800 series, 891W all I can choose is IOS, IOS ROMMON and upgrade to LWAPP. If I go to Wireless Wireless integrated service routers, 800 series, 891W I get IOS and IOS ROMMON.
I have had trouble to verify the support wireless speed and band that CISCO891W-AGN-A-K9 supports. I saw on a vendor website that it supports a max wireless transmission speed of 54Mbps but this seems low for what is supposed to be the current model wireless router which is supports 802.11n. What the maximum supported wireless speed and whether 5Ghz is supported? Plus I am thinking about purchasing it for my home wireless network (upgrading from an 871W).
I just received a Cisco Aironet 1130 AG wi-fi router to configure and when I entered the router through console, I am not able to get into config mode. It says:

I was provided with a new wireless modem from our internet service provider (the old modem was antiquated and needed updating). After this, i have been unable to connect to the internet on my laptop on a wireless basis. I can search for the modem via the usual means and seemingly connect, but when i am connected it states that i have 'Local Access' only and i am unable to access the internet at all. I am also unable to connect to the internet on a wireless basis when in safe mode.I am however, able to connect using a Ethernet cable from the modem. My laptop is fairly old but it is fine for our needs and thus i do not really want to change it unless totally necessary. I just wonder if it is something relatively simple that i am overlooking? My son also has a more modern laptop, and he tells me that he can use the internet via our new modem without any problems. Which would suggest there is nothing wrong with the modem. The operating system is Windows Vista, if that makes any difference.
I'm using Linksys WAG200G Wireless modem and connection mode is "Bridge Mode Only", in this mode I'm not getting the 192.168.1.1 setup console and Wifi facility.
I have been working with the 871 router and configuring it for work at home users. Now we are purchasing and using the 881's instead. I noticed that after write erasing the router, I need to run the command in the global config "license boot module c880-data level advipservices" just have eigrp. However when I type show license, I get the following:
Index 1 Feature: advipservices Period left: 8 weeks 3 days Period Used: 2 hours 55 minutes License Type: EvalRightToUse
[URL]
There is more but I left it out. However it shows that the advipservices license has only 8 weeks and 3 days left. What is this? I thought that when I buy a brand new router, I should get everything, including IOS licenses. So I would like to know is this a new licensing scheme and how does it get register and how do I get it so that the advipservices license is permanent?
I've just received a Cisco 1801W router (pre-owned), which I'm going to be installing in our school, and I have been unable to figure out the details of the wireless configuration. The 1801W router is replacing an old basic Linksys WAP54G router. I'm hoping to configure the 1801 for basic DSL, with the WiFi configured with a single SSID, using WPA-PSK authentication with a hard-coded pre-shared key on the router. We do not have a radius server available at the school.
I think I have the router set up properly for DSL with NAT and DHCP for the internal network (192.168.1.x). The router's E0 interface uses 192.168.1.1, and the dialer0 interface will receive an IP from the service provider (ISP). The only thing I'm missing is the wireless configuration part.
On new 1841 Testing Router, I deleted the flash & did the reload. After reloading, instantly I entered into the Rommon mode. I have a backup of the flash in my TFTP Server, which is connected to the 1841 Router. how can I restore my flash file into my 1841 Router. I can not get myself out of Rommon mode. I also now even can not ping the TFTP Server as well. Do I have to configure in the Rommon mode ?
how to restore the flash image via TFTP Server on my 1841 Router.
In an IPSec port to DUT scenario, with Mode-Config set so as the DUT sends the IP address to the port, I get to a situation in which the DUT continuously enter the "Need config/address" state for the port, even if the port sends its ACK packet to every set IP address from the DUT.
The DUT is a Cisco 6500 Version 12.2 (33) SXI3, having Mode-Configuration configured to provide clients with IP addresses from a local pool. I enabled the "debug crypto isakmp" on Cisco, and below is an extract form the log file:
5d23h: ISAKMP:(80653):Need config/address /* My comments here: This is the first Address configuration message from Cisco to port */ 5d23h: ISAKMP: set new node 1768971286 to CONF_ADDR 5d23h: ISAKMP: Sending private address: 94.94.0.164 5d23h: ISAKMP:(80653): initiating peer config to 171.159.1.113. ID = 1768971286 5d23h: ISAKMP:(80653): sending packet to 171.159.1.113 my_port 500 peer_port 500 (R) CONF_ADDR 5d23h: ISAKMP:(80653):Input = IKE_MESG_INTERNAL, IKE_PHASE1_COMPLETE 5d23h: ISAKMP:(80653):Old State = IKE_P1_COMPLETE New State = IKE_CONFIG_MODE_SET_SENT
above debug messages that Cisco produces I can not realize why Cisco resends the IP adderss configuration message for remote peer. Any other methods to use so as to get the reason behind this behavior? Or any explanation to the above behavior?
I have a 2500 and I have successfully joined a 1600 AP to it; however I have noticed that I cannot enable CleanAir in the Global Parameters with just the 1602 AP joined. This feature was enable when I had my 2602 AP connected. So, is the problem that the 1602 doesn't fully support CleanAir? If that is the case, how do I enable CleanAir Express or is that something you can even enable thru the GUI?
I recently bought and installed a WAP4410N access point (using PoE) and it's running stable. I was able to access the web-based configuration by using the IP address of the AP (something like 192.168.0.184, coming from the DHCP of my router). However, I'm unable to access the web-based configuration using the host name of the device (mentioned next to the device name in the basic setup section of the web-based configuration). I changed the host name several times, but I can't connect to the device using the host name. Accessing the device by its IP address works, but I have to check the logging of my router to find out which IP address I have to use. Is there a way to access the device using the host name?
(I think my WAP4410N has firmware version 2.0.2.1 installed)
I have followed these guides for setting and have enabled this feature. Works great too. The only issue I have is the last step to in the deployment guide is to disable the controller based IDS signatures. I would like to be able to do this via a template in WCS. I have found where to do this via WCS controller webpage and also the controlller itself, but I'm looking for a way to push this change all at once. I have 26 wlcs so it would be nice to just do it once and apply to all of them. [URL]
