Since we upgrade WLC in version 7.0.230 my PC with atheros card (version client 8.0.140 and driver 9.2.0.419) have brief interruption. In System events we have a lot of events ID 4201 and 1007. I try use Windows Wireless Client and we have not problem but the roaming is not fast. I don't find other client Utility for Atheros.

I've been getting warning messages from the event log of a 1300 series bridge, which is set as an Access Point in the network, states: 'Packet to client (mac address) reached max retries, removing the client'; I'm not sure why the client is removed. Does 'reached max retries' mean that the client has tried to many times to connect to the AP/Bridge?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a (single) client (it is a cisco IOS router) behind a wireless workgroup bridge (cisco1242).The client's IP address is obtained via DHCP from the wired network.Now, when roaming occurs, the Client will never have knowledge about this event,and hence will not renew its IP address until lease expiers. This is not a problem of course when Layer 2 roam occurs, but with Layer 3
roam it will interrupt the traffic.
The cisco's IP Mobile implementation does have this issue addressed in DCCoA scenario: the WGB is configured to send an SNMP trap on its dotradio state change;the cisco mobile router is configured with snmp-server manager to process this trap and start DHCP renew on the Down/Up event. Unfortunately, this works in Mobile IP scenario only because I cannot make it work without the mobile router registered with a home agent.

A customer has a wireless PTP bridge using a pair of 1410 bridges. The non-root bridge event log shows the RSSI polling information message indicating the link's signal strength; ie. -42 dBm. It updates every few seconds or so. The root bridge does not show this information in the event log. Both bridges have the event log configuration options set identically, all messages types are enabled. I can't find any reference to this in the documents. Is this by design? I thought that maybe a root bridge if it was set up as a multi-point might be overwhelmed if it was showing/scrolling RSSI from multiple non-roots.

My computer had a virus so I ran Avast virus scanner and repaired or removed any infected files. Now the program doesn't start automatically like it used to and when I try to open it i get an error message saying "Unable to locate files: C Program Files BelkinF5D7050v3rdcm2k.dll". I also have the disk for this but when I try to run it it says "An error occurred while defining the dialogue box." I also get this message when I try to uninstall or change it.

I was wondering what I need to do to get the Dell Wireless Utility to recognize my MPI350 as a wireless networking device that need to be controlled.
FYI...I do have the card working using the Cisco's Airnet Utility but my work requires us to use the Dell utility for security purposes.
Also, when I view the wireless utility it says No Adapters on the tab.
Running Vista and cannot connect to the internet through the Atheros AR5B91. Can connect via USB adapter and LAN cable plugged in to router. Network discovery was custom, for some reason, but turned it off. Everything else in the house works, iphones, xboxes and another laptop with the same Atheros adapter.

I know this is a common problem and I HAVE tried everysingle suggestion posted on this forum, including but not limited to: reinstalling drivers, making sure the adapter is configured for the appropriate gateway and even doing a full restore to factory defaults. NOTHING has worked.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using HP Pavillion dv3-2165ee Win7 32bit with Atheros A9285 WLAN adapter.problem is that my notebook is not detecting any wireless network.it is as if my adapter is turned off. when i switch it on, Bluetooth works but WLAN dont. I tried turning it on/off couple of times but it didnt work. I'm not sure if is just a timing, but it started when im on a cafe when i plugged in my friend's flash drive then after a while i lost all available wireless networks that time.At first i assumed it's because of virus, so i tried driver reinstall/reformatting/recovery disc but nothing solved the problem.
When I browse the net, i saw this Xirrius Wifi Inspector so i downloaded it with a cable connection then when i used it, it was able to detect the wireless network i have in my house but just for a couple of seconds, and the network disappeared.I tried other drivers, but i didn't work. As i've said earlier it is as if turned off.I've run this diagnostic test from Atheros driver and got this result with my WLAN switched on.While on this screeny, you can see in HP Wireless Assistant that my WLAN & is enabled, but at the same time Windows Mobility Center is indicating that my WLAN is not just turned off but it is like there is nothing there.
I've heard that AR5007 has troubles connecting to NetGear, but it's strange that I haven't had this problem until now. Maybe I've never needed to connect to a NetGear router before, but regardless.Wireless, it connects to the router but not to the internet. I've tried to follow what other threads have to say about this, but it's not really making sense or it's just not working.

Win 7 32bit pro WLC 6.0.196.0 and AP 1142 , associated in 802.11G or N WPA 2 preshared key.
WLC Roaming parameter : minimum RRSI -80dbm, roaming hysteresis 2dB, adaptive scan threshold -70dBm, transition time 5sec.
The laptops are supposed to be compatible with CCXv5 program, but in WLC (and two controllers CT-5508) the client is not seen as CCX client compatible !
So roaming is bad. Even with a very good and dense wifi coverage (no coverage hole detected), because the laptop still stay associated with a far AP (until -90dbm), instead of roaming with the nearests APs (-40dbm !!)
Is it possible to get the result in th event list in the form of graph, ie. like delay,throughput in the form of graph

I thought that it might be possible to use existing error messages generated by the ios sip application to trigger an EEM applet.Is there a reference that lists all SYSLOG messages that SIP can generates, and their error levels? Can you show me how to turn on syslog messages, so that I can cause a SIP registration expiration on my GW and then see what SYSLOG messages are produced?
I think I understand how to write an applet and its event trigger from a SYSLOG message pattern, but I am having trouble seeing any SIP error messages at all, except if I turn on Debug, which usually produces way too many messages and may impact performance.

In the event primary firewall fails, there is no direct WAN/internet connection to failover firewall. I beleived that to mitigate the issue, I needed to add a layer 3 switch , and have each circuit (MPLS/Internet) or (modems/routers) connect to a L3 switch. L3 switch will do the vlan based routing based on the state of firewall. ? am i correct? The client want automatic failover to secondary firewall in the event the actual firewall failed without impacting the day to day business.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI currently have a Toshiba Satellite L750-04K, which has an Atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless card.It's specs say it's a 802.11b/g/n, but it only offers 1 stream N and max's out at 150Mbps. While the card incorporates Bluetooth, it's a very basic wireless card.While I had a 'G' series router, the laptop connectivity was great and never dropped me off the network, however when I upgraded my router to a new 'N' series, my laptop would constantly drop off my network, requiring a constant resetting of my wireless adapter to get me back online. Other devices were fine on the same router.Thinking my laptop was faulty, I sent it back to Toshiba under warranty and while it tested ok, they replaced the wireless card as a precaution. When I got it home, it was exactly the same, constantly disconnecting.I've tried every troubleshooting measure available and I've come to the opinion I need to put a much better wireless adapter in my machine, especially if I want to utilize 'N' routers.

And of course, the Atheros AR928X Wireless Network Adaptor.It seems that no matter what I do wireless capability cannot be enabled. I tried turning the wireless capability button on and off but to no avail. Then I pressed FN+F2 and it didn't fix it. In both those situations a box which displays the status of the wireless LAN connection comes up, however, it reads "OFF" regardless of me performing the above two "fixes." According to my computer the card is enabled and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device driver but nothing changed.
There are a ton of posts about this issue, and I have tried everything. I have an ASUS Eee 1040 PC with an Atheros AR5700EG wireless network adapter running on Windows XP. I've had the computer for a couple years and it has worked fine, until recently. Using inSSIDer, I can view all wireless networks within range, but using Windows, I cannot connect to any wireless networks. It gives me the message that "No wireless networks were found in range." I had a few hotspots that I would regularly use and they are not showing up in the list of preferred networks. I know for certain that some of the hotspots that are within range are indeed broadcasting their ssid. I can only connect if I manually add a hotspot as a preferred network and configure it with the correct security settings. Even then, viewing available wireless networks gives nothing, and Windows doesn't remember the hotspot. What else can I do short of reinstalling windows?
I cannot stay connected to the internet with my Asus. When I troubleshoot, it says the wifi was not on, turns it on, but I lose connection again and then can't get it back. Brand new. No hardware button.
