We've just purchased the a VM Version of MSE (L-MSE-C3-W25) installed on vSphere.Have followed the guide, gone to add this to WSE and it wont connect.Looking at the console it says to type /init.d/msed.start, I get -bash: /init.d/msed: No such file or directory Then type getserverinfo returns Health Monitor is not running.
View 2 RepliesHave a Linksys E-3000 router and a WAP-4410N which I wish to configure as a repeater to extend network coverage. E-3000 IP has been changed to 10.10.1.1. How do I do it ? What do I connect to what in order to configure the WAP-4410N to new settings? It will of course be located remotely from the router. At this time network consists of a main PC and 2 wireless laptops. I have read the manual and it doesn't answer the above described situation.

I have an interesting job where i am having to fit a wifi network through a large property. I was advised to use the Cisco 2504 WLC and 9 x Cisco AIR-AP1142N access points.I know that out of the box the AP's (in standalone versions) have the GUI enabled. Not being completley up with CLI etc, is the WLC GUI enabled straight out of the box? if not, is it complicated to get it up and running?

I have been tasked to installe 5508 with conjestion of 4402. I have make the software version on both of them as below
AIR-CT5500-K9-7-0-235-3.aes
AIR-WLC4400-K9-7-0-235-3.aes
To match the same IOS version on both the controller. I have following challenges with me.
- 5508 will registered 25 AP while .. 4408 will continue with 48 AP.
- 5508 is going to be in DC and it will be directly connected to firewall as default gateway for guest SSID. 4402 is going to be on another building.
- How can I make sure that Users connected to AP registered with 4402 will have the same deafult gateway as 5508. Thre is no layer 2 connectivity between this two controllers.
- There is no romaing going to happen between this two controller as both are two different locations and user will leave one location will disconnect and it joines bak when it reach to another controller.
- Is there any way to configure 5508 as master and 4402 as slave kind of connections?
I have returnd my laptop (Fujitsu Siemens Amilo 2727) to factory setting, increased the memory and installed Windows 7. Wireless was working fine until I installed Windows 7. Everything works fine on the Ethernet cable, the usual way of turning on the wireless connection using Fn+F1 is not working.

This mean that so coherent fault lies as follows on Layer 1&2 . The switch port light does not go green either. We have used both xover and straight but no luck

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy hard drive recently failed, and I installed a new hdd in my Studio XPS 1647. Everything seems to be working like a charm... except the wireless. I'm running Windows 7 64Bit, for your reference. I went to the Dell driver site, and ignorant, originally downloaded everything that seemed to be relevant concerning the networking drivers. When that didn't work, I came upon an article that gave the correct order of driver installations. I re-installed in that order, albeit using the download manager. No luck. I've run Dell Diagnostics, and the only problem it sees is USB status (but USB is working great... I've printed and access my external hd without problem)... no problems showing with networking. Under the device manager, Base System Device (2), Intel Centrino Advanced-N WiMax6250 and Network Controller all have (!) marks. I actually un-installed all of those, and re-installed the network drives for a 3rd time. Still no go.

I currently have an E1000 router set up on a 2006 Dell PC as main hub of a network that includes kids' 2003 Dell PC (with a Cisco Connect USB receiver plugged in because it has no wireless capabilities) and wife's Dell laptop. We're about to change main desktop computer to an iMac (2011 refurb, won't be running Lion which I know there's issues with as far as Cisco Connect), give the 2006 Dell to kids and get rid of the old 2003 box. I cannot locate my installation CD, I'm sure it's somewhere in our rather cluttered computer area, although I understand I can download what I need. This probably is a dufus question, and I apologize in advance, it's just not clicking in my mind, but basically am I going to have to go back to step one, just like the first day I set up the router, as far as setting up our network?

It's been awhile since I installed the old router and I remember something about not using the CD as it says before plugging in the new router because it messes everything up. All of my computers are running XP Pro SP3 with 2 of them being wired.
I remember something about just plugging the router in and typing in 192.168.1.1 in my browser and then setting everything up that way. Am I correct in doing this or am I forgetting something?
Oh, I am also running Network Magic so would I also have to reinstall it?
I am having trouble installing the wusb100 adapter on a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit machine. I have downloaded the updated files and when I go to install the software, I get to the section that says, "plug in the adapter." At that point, it says it can see the adapter and it sits for 3 minutes trying to complete the install. The I get error 211 which says the adapter is plugged in wrong and to try again. I notice that the adapter is set up with drivers in the Hardward Management area of Windows, however, I cannot access the adapter to set it up. Thoughts? I have also tried to manually install the drivers but they are installed. The trouble is I can't see the adapter.

I cant access 192.168.1.1. I tried through google chrome and internet explorer but neither will recognize it. View 9 Replies View RelatedI just installed windows 7 on my wifes new com and the device couldn't detect any connections using the default drivers (windows called it an nvidia wireless network card). I downloaded the drivers put them on her hd via flash drive and attempted to update the device drivers through the device manager but it says the drivers are already up to date. I uninstalled the device and windows called the device MCF-J415W and when I tried to update the drivers again it said the drivers were not correct. I'm not sure what is going on here and why linksys doesn't just have a .exe driver installer. I've had the same issue with my wife's computer when it had win xp except it didn't have any generic drivers to install. Also I tried selecting the driver from the list of pre-loaded drivers and found one for the exact device but it would not install those either.

I configure on HREAP AP, Native VLAN set to 1 and the WLAN and Vlan mapping for the current wlan is set to 1 too. WLC version is 7.0.230.0 and AP version is 12.4(23c)JA4
on my cisco switch (WS-C3560-24PS with 12.2(55)SE1), the port configuration is as below:

AP receives a DHCP IP in Vlan 45 and users connected in vlan 45 too. I would like to undestand why the AP is working properly because normally vlan 1 is not configured as allowed vlan on my switch and the native vlan is dedicated only to untagged ethernet packet.
After popping in the installation CD, the screen says hook everything up, which I do. Then click next, where it says "Searching Networks", then quickly changes to "Connecting to Network", and then it says it "Cannot Find Router.". Err. Check setup, etc.If I hook up directly to new router VIA internet cable. Also, this is strange: When I just open up a web browser and try to log into the router 192.168.1.1, using no user name, administration as the password, it won't let me in to the router. Even after I have reset the router with a pen.
