Cisco Wireless :: Possible To Configure 3602e AP With Autonomous Load Via GUI?
Mar 7, 2013
I have a 3602e access point which I need to configure. It has been loaded with an autonomous image (for survey work) and my only access currently is via a browser. Is it possible to http into this access point if its only been imaged and not configured.
We purchased some 3502e's and I was told we could set them up as automous ap's to do a site survey. however i haven't come across much online for instructions. i saw one post that mentioned downloading code for another ap model - i think a 1260, but we don't have rights for such a download.
I have 14 unit of Air-AP1142n. No controller. All unit were in a warehouse, each of the AP distance each other around 40mI would like to use only 4 SSID instead of 14 SSID.
when I try to configure my autonomous 1140, it does not work unless I use numbers. If I put in my phone number as my key, I can authenticate just fine. When I change it to some random letters and numbers.
I have configured my AP with MBSSID and it does work fine. now I need to take it to the next level and introduce the 2nd ssid to be my home guest network for friends and family that are visiting. What else should I include on this configuration to allow for a hot spot where the user logons and must authenticate themselves via a secure web browser before going out to the internet. Next question would be how to increase the security of the device and the AP.

We setup some new CAPWAP AP 3602E in the network and configure the DHCP server option 43 , but the WLCs still cannot detect the APs , Do you know if there any new way to troubleshooting?
How the full functionality of the Wireless Security and Spectrum Intelligence module is supported in autonomous mode for site survey use, or is a WSC required?
I'm wondering whether we need to invest in more survey/ spectrum analysis kit or could just use a 3602e with WSSI and the inbuilt Spectrum Expert?
Looking at the WSSI datasheet it mentions internal antenna- unlcealr if this is just with 3602i or 3602e as well.We plan to deploy 3602e in enclusures- hence the external antenna- so the WSSI would be shielded.
Does the WSSI only use it's own internal antenna or is there any option to use external?
My QA team needs to test number of special connectivity scenarios where their wireless connection has a limited bandwidth.Ideally, I would like to provide them number of SSIDs each of which has different bandwidth limitation. But so far I did not find a way to apply any bandwidth limitations to my 2504 Wireless controller and the 3602E AP.QoS has only 4 pre-defined modes which can't be set to a specific limit.
I have a problem with a WLC 2500 and 3602E the problem is the link speed between the AP and the client is weak and the client is close to the AP the version fo the WLC es 7.4 and don´t know if it is a bug with the version because if I use a autonomous AP the speed is good
i have cisco CAP 3602e series access point to work with 5500 series controller with code 7.0i did not find VCI option 60 for this type of APs to configure DHCP. How I can let these APs will join the controller, i mean through which process DNS discovery methode and what about if i need to configure option 60 and 43 in dhcp for ap joining process to controllers.
Have a new ASA 5510 connected to the laptop via console. I need to load the IOS and the configure from another ASA. I have tftp client on the laptop. Do I just need to set the inside IP to the same subnet as my laptop? Will I need a crossover cable?
We have two 100 MBPS P2P link from two different ISP and we have terminated both the link on our 6509 switch. Now we want to configure the load balancing between these two disfferent ISP 100 MBPS P2P link.
So, how to go and what all options we can try ? We are thinking for Ether Channel configuration. Need your expert opinions on the same and if etherchannel configuration is the option then what would be the configuration for the same ?
I plan to configure Static route load-balancing, which just assign different administraive distance to static routes. The route with lower distance is preferred. For example, if ISP A is our primary Internet provider the default route may be configured with a distance of 1 (all static routes are assigned this administrative distance) and the default route through ISP B may be configured with a distance of 100. In that case the default route through ISP B will be used if only the route through ISP A becomes unavailable.
But when I trying to configureWith Enhanced Object Tracking to do the route failover (a generic track object can monitor presence of an ip route, state of an SLA), I found my IOS not support such Track command. [code]
I've purchased a Linksys RV042 hoping I could connect my two ISP.Both of them are 1/1 Mb, first is DSL second PPPoE connection. The problem is that on system summary page it doesn't show me that second WAN is connected. Even when I trying to manually connect to Internet it doesn't work.
When this connection is in Load balance Mode, internet is very slow, sometimes it's even disconnected.
My question is:How to configure Load Balance properly?I've tried this page:
configure a router 1812 as failover, I walk with fixed ip internet link in Fe0 (need to determine the mac) and a dynamic ip link in FE1, other ports with a single vlan dhcp 172.20.16.1
I managed to do DHCP, connect to internet, to make nat vlan. But I could not do failover and load balance neither.
now i have some problem on Cisco Switch 3750 and ASA 5510, i would like to do loandbalancing on Cisco Switch 3750 and Active/Standby on ASA 5510.
which topology that we can use on this diagram, i mean which protocol connect 3750(2unit) to ASA 5510(2unit) and ASA 5510 to 3750, which protocol 3750.
We have a couple of autonomous 1262's that I'd like to get configured. I would like to put the Ethernet interface out on our Internet subnet and have the clients get a RFC 1918 address from the radio's. Our little Linksys is setup this way and the clients are PAT'ing off the Ethernet interface when they go to the Internet.
Is this possible with these guys or do I have to put the AP ethernet interface into the same subnet with the DHCP scope? I don't have enough Internet IP's to hand out to every wireless client.
i need to change the IOS in a Ligthwiegth Access point and make it work as an Autonomus AP 1242. I have got the image but im not realy clear about the process. I got to enter the Ligthwiegth Access point true the console port but i dont know how is the upgrading process.
I am not having much luck getting it converted via normal ways.
It times outs on TFTP server when you hold the mode button (a 3500 is working fine doing the same thing).
I try the old school way of archive download-sw but it isn't fast enough before it re-dhcp's because it can't find a controller. "*Mar 1 01:17:51.123: %CAPWAP-3-DHCP_RENEW: Could not discover WLC using DHCP IP. Renewing DHCP IP..' Even if I set a static IP address.
Is there way to disable the join process while I upgrade the software? I guess fire up a controller for it to join. I hope I don't have to have a controller to convert these.
I have an AIR-LAP1142 that I'm trying to load the autonomous software onto. I reset the AP with the mode button held down as per instructions. When I release, it attempts to download c1140-k9w7-tar.default from my pc running tftpd62. Several connections are made and then it eventually times out. I tried another machine (also win7 x64) and it fails there too exactly the same.
TFTP logs show:
Connection received from 10.0.0.1 on port 1024 [18/05 17:22:04.269] Read request for file <c1140-k9w7-tar.default>. Mode octet [18/05 17:22:04.270] Using local port 51686 [18/05 17:22:04.270]
how to convert a 3502 access point from Autonomous to Lightweight ? 3502 has a new IOS released back in Dec 2012 to work as staandalone mode. I need to convert this back to Lightweight mode.
I have been searching on web but have had no luck so far with anything. Tried converting it to lightweight in the same way as putting it on Autonomous IOS but errored out.
I'm trying to configure a 2602i and I know there is a way to access the web GUI to accomplish this but I'm unsure if I have to access CLI to assign the AP and IP or if it already has a default IP?If it has an default IP
i'm trying to enable WDS with authentication on a Cisco 1042 AP. The unit itself will be the WDS master and Radius server as well it will serve clients (not that many). The AP is running version 12.4(25d).After multiple tries of configurating, I keep getting the same issue: as soon as I connect to the SSID, I can enter the username and password but authentication fails - hence the message in my console:
%DOT11-7-AUTH_FAILED: Station xxxx.xxxx.xxxx Authentication failed. Every configuration I made was started from factory defaults of the AP.My current tests are with one AP only and if tests go successfully, I will add more infrastructure AP's to the setup.

I've tried the configuration from the Cisco config guide as well but without any luck [URL]
I have an 1142 running capwap c1140-k9w8-tar.124-23c.JA4 that I am wanting to convert to an Autonomous AP.However, the AP does not seem to have an archive exec command to tftp downoad an new IOS.Is there another procedure that should be used ?
