View 5 RepliesI have installed WiSM2 with ver 7.4 and Bonjour works great with instruction provided, But…… 2 problems. I cant get it to work on the same subnet. (odd since the whole problem was not able to work across subnets), More important the new Code function / password function on the airplay wont work. I get the code on the projector, but the ipad never pop up the login box it just errors out.

Is the OfficeExtended (or OEAP) supported on the 1140 APs?. If so where can I get a guide to configure this?.

I just bought an Aironet 600 OfficeExtend AP and hooked it up to my WLC 5500 but I can't configure it.
I've got 10 AP running just fine but the Aironet 600 shows operational status as "UP" (normal is "REG") and "Admin status", "AP Mode" and "AP Sub Mode" are all grayed out.
I installed the newest firmware on the WLC (ver 7.2.110.0) and it has upgraded the Aironet 600 as well.
I've read to through the installation manuals and from everything I can see I should be able to configure the Aironet 600 as soon as it contact WLC
What I am trying to do is I have one switch with say a 10.1.9.1 sub-net I need to have one of the ports to be trucked with two vlans one for DSL and the other for a local connection with the sub-net of 10.1.5.1 both of the sub-nets are configured in the core as 9 and 5 so I have port 0 set up as a trunk and it is set up as ge-0/0/0.0 vlan_5, vlan_192 on the 10.1.9.1 subnet switch. The DSL is working but the local is not pulling a 10.1.5.1 IP and has no connectivity. Everything looks as if it is configured correctly but still the DSl is working but not the Local connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a cisco 877w and ive setup two ssids on it each with different vlans (I intend to use the zone based firewall to lock down the guest zone later)
Ive made a quick diagram of my network its a single server with 2 NIC's one for the internal lan and another for the external network (direct connection to the router) The server hosts 3 virtualized servers with the ecternal nic only shared with the tmg 2010 server.
So my problem is that when I connect to the 10.0.1.1 network as 10.0.1.2 I can only ping the internal network however the internal network is incapable of responding (pinging back) giving destination host unreachable. I know I need some kind of routing but im not sure where to apply it on the TMG server with the next hop as 10.0.0.10 or on the router.
The guest wifi is intended to bypass the network firewall and not allow access to the internal network. I've enabled ip routing on the cisco router and attached the config below.

I have a office network that was setup before I started. We have a 172. subnet and a 10.2 subnet. When users on Wifi get a 10.2 address ( ran out of 172 address ) they are not able to get out to the internet. But if the laptop is connected to a LAN port and get a 10.2 address they are able to get to the Internet. Not sure if its the Aps I need to configure or the Pix seeing that if they get a LAN address of 10.2 everything works. This is becoming a bigger issue now that the company has out grown its main subnet (172.)

View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have recently aquired a remote location which has a pre-existing flat network (172.16.X.X/16). Before we are able to convert them over to our new IP scheme, they have a need to have wireless connectivity on site. We have 4 1142's which I need to configure for them. I have experience configuring WLC's and autonomous AP's for networks with multiple vlans but have never configured AP's for a flat, single subnet network. I need to configure them for either guest access (internet only) or corporate access to network resources with radius authentication. Do I configure a native vlan as I would for a typical multi vlan network? Do I configure the switch port as an access port as opposed to a trunk beacause of the lack of layer 3? I basically need a sample configuration for this situation.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe following picture is from a network in a hotel:
- Cisco 3825 is managed by AT&T. No access to this.
- There is no Layer 3 device in this network.
- Access Gateway at 100.1 operates at Layer 2. It receives tagged traffic in order to keep track of billings and user accounts so we can't add a Router in internal network. (Please verify)
- WLC's Management Interface lives in VLAN 100 at 100.2 with Default Gateway of 100.1
- Another WLC with Management Interface different VLAN than above, will be connected to the "Core Switch" to have Mobility.
- With Mobility Groups, IP connectivity must exist between the management interfaces of all controllers.
- Routing between VLANs need a Layer 3 device.
Any possible solutions to establish IP connectivity about the following:
- Changing Management Interface VLAN on one side and match it with the other side to eliminate Routing Requirements and having Inter-Controller Roaming instead of Inter-Subnet Roaming. (Reboot required?)
- Adding a NAT device between two WLCs and use Proxy ARP. (Haven't done this before, does this work?)
- Do you have better solution(s) in mind?
I have an 871 set up at home with 2 VLANs, both of these vlans present a strange behavior where an user is unable to ping/contact another user on the same subnet, however if users are on different subnet it seems to work [code]
According to the troubleshooting that I have done, the issue seems to be with the broadcast traffic, ARP request/reply do not reach another host on the same subnet (wireless to wireless or wired to wireless) however if the wireless device iniciates the connection to wired, it works fine.
I have tried to enable proxy arp on the different VLANs and BVI and different combinations but no sucess in order to get traffic across 2 wireless devices on the same subnet or a connection that is iniciated for a wired client to a wireless one.
I tried enabling and disabling dot11 arp-cache but no luck.
I was assigned a static block over PPPoE from the ISP. I can connect to the internet using the gateway address but I need to route the other static IPs to my servers. I might say that I accomplished it on a couple of older routers - E1200 & WRT120N, but I cannot get it to work on my new EA3500. I have 5 usable IPs plus the gateway IP that is assigned with the PPPoE connection on the WAN port.
View 8 Replies View RelatedDue to the way I have my DSL and VOIP TA configured I need to be able to set the subnet mask in the Internet connection. I am currently using the Static IP, putting in an IP of 192.168.1.x with the subnet of 255.255.0.0 when I try to do this it gives me an error saying that 192.168.33.1/255 is reserved for the guest network. I am not using the 33 at all ANYWHERE. If I change the subnet to 255.255.255.0 it will save but I can't connect to the internet with it. My router I just bought today is the E2500 I have an old Linksys WRT model that worked fine with this exact setup for several years before it crashed on me.

Now everyone on 192.168.1.0 network is able to access and print but none on 10.1.1.0 I did put a static route on the RV082 to direct the requests for the printer to be redirected to 10.1.1.82 but no success.
The E4200 is setup by default out of the box I had just to set the static IP, Gateway and DNS and of course the wireless security key nothing else. the NAT is enabled on the E4200 and RIP is disabled, I tested the connection by disabling NAT and enabling RIP, at which I was able to connect to the printer but the Internet went down for All Wireless users (192.168.1.0 network)
I’m having issues with enabling Apple’s AirPlay services on a relatively simple network consisting of a Cisco 881 (Advanced IP Services) and an autonomous Cisco 1142 AP. I’ve attached a diagram explaining the connectivity. I believe I have to enable IP Multicast at the router, but I’m not really sure the best/right way to do it. Also I’m not sure what/if any commands would be needed at the AP.All of the wireless clients are confirmed to be in the same subnet, so no real routing is happening etc. Also regular Internet connectivity/routing from the wireless clients is fine.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently installed a couple of Cisco Aironet 3600 Series Wireless Access Points at a remote site. While I was at the site everything seemed OK, The clients were able to get connected to the access points, the guest network worked fine, I could SSH into the access points, and I could ping them. The problem is when I went back to my home site I tried to SSH into the access points through an ASA IPSec VPN Tunnel and it couldn’t find it. When I try to ping the access points they “time out”. I can ping and connect all other addresses (via RDP, HTTP, etc..) on the same subnet which should rule out an access list problem. A couple of notes to be aware of:
The WAP’s have the Autonomous IOS installed (Version 15.2(2)JB) The WAP’s are connected to Dell PowerConnect 5724 (Not by choice.. We are a Cisco shop, these were already there and have plans this year to replace)
I can ping and SSH with Putty to the WAP’s from the local subnet I cannot ping or SSH from a remote subnet to the WAP’s. I can access all other IP’s and Computers from a remote subnet.
I switched from Time Capsule with AirPort to E2000 and have a problem with configuration.I use the same IPs as in AirPort and E2000 gives me an error:"The WAN IP address cannot be the same subnet as the Guest Network IP address" and I can't save configuration. But in my opinion they are different.I use "Static IP" option and I have IPs from my ISP: [code] So WAN IP is different subnet as LAN and I don't know what to do now. It worked with these settings in AirPort and here I can't proceed.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this is a possible config, but I have an ASA that I need to be able to SSL VPN to, and get an IP Address that is on the same subnet as my internal interface. The reason is, the person connecting in has a utility that does a broadcast on the internal network to discover the devices he is trying to connect to. Therefore, connecting over VPN and getting put on a different subnet wont work. In this case, I am going to start the ASA configuration from scratch. If its possible to do the above, what are the correct commands to configure it? I was planning to use 10.50.0.1/24 for the internal interface, and then hand out IP Addresses on that subnet to both the lan, and the vpn, This is an ASA 5505. Its on IOS 8.4.
