View 4 Replies View RelatedI have old interface hardware with Static IP 10.2.2.200 and on the same switch I have computers with IPs of 10.4.1.0 If I change subnet to 255.0.0.0 old hardware with 10.2.2.200 will be accessible. The problem is that I would like to have 255.255.255.0 as subnet but it should still be possible to access 10.2.2.200. Can I add Static route for oldhardware in XP without adding gateway settings? The most simple would be to put all on same subnet but it is not possible due to a various reasons. The computers are running Windows XP

This time I took the RV042G, hoping that the higher age of this product comes with a more mature firmware.So far the functions I need, work satisfying. There is only one issue: The subnet-mask is only configurable using a dropdown-menu. I've read the posts from the Cisco-Support staff saying, that this is because it is only a SMB Router. So, we are a small business and we use the 172.20.x.y net for several reasons. One of it is to distinguish and group several network devices using the third block of the IP. Eg. our printers IPs start with 172.20.5.x and so on.
My question is: Is it really impossible to change the subnet-mask dropdown-menu to a simple text-field in the frontend? Because it is possible to change the subnet to whatever one needs by a little cURL-magic: [code] This sets the new subnet-mask permanently (even survives a reboot and is displayed correctly on the system-status page) and I have not discovered any problems.The only thing is, if you change settings on the setup -> network page, the netmask is reset and you have to rerun this script.
Have a problem with a laptop connecting to a Wireless Router. The laptop was working fine on the last router which was on an ADSL Network.. (not that that matters),When the new router (Virgin Media / Cable) was installed all other laptops where connecting to it without any probs, but not this one.The laptop in question still receives an IP address, Subnet mask and Gateway from the router - Vista says Local only, no internet access. It cannot ping anything else on the network either. When I do ping it comes back destination host unreachable.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I plug in the power cord to my EA6500 all the LED's on the back, and the white Cisco on the front come on solid, then the lights on the back go out and the white Cisco light starts blinking faster than every second. I can't get it to stop blinking no matter what I've tried so far.
It won't let me connect to it at all. I've tried everything I can think of, and have tried almost everything I could find in Troubleshooting in Cisco Community. The Linksys Smart Wi Fi Router setup says "We could not find your router."
I've also tried using the red Reset button and the light never stops flashing. I've tried pushing the button quickly, holding it down for ten seconds, and holding it down for more than 30 seconds, but the light continues to blink. I've also unplugged it and waited more than 10 seconds, but nothing seems to work.
I am using a BEFSR41 for my network. My internal netmask is 255.255.0.0. The only options permitted in the dropdown list on the BEFSR41 is 255.255.255.0. How to change the netmask?

I tried setting TiVo up manually but it won't accept the password/key for the 5g band. I gave up and used the "push button" method, but I have a feeling that puts it on the 2.4g band.I do have two different SSIDs and two different passwords.

I changed my E1000 router name successfully, and then went into the Administration section to change my password. After changing the password and clicking on Save a small screen pops up asking me to verify my router's username and password. When I enter the exact same user name and password it does not accept them. When I try to enter the old user name and password it does not accept them either. I then try combinations of the two and it still will not accept the input. I have reset my router 4 times now and this keeps occurring. I am completely baffled.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI need to put a FWSM and a line card WS-X6148A-GE-TX to a router 7606. The FWSM version is 3.2(13). The router is running IOS 12.1(18)SXD3. The Cisco document here says the required IOS for router 7606 is 12.2(18)SXF or higher. I have downloaded the IOS 12.2(33)SRD4 and loaded it to the flash card. When I turn the router on, it doesn't load the new IOS and goes to rommon. Which IOS I should use to make the router 7606 work and accept the FWSM.
