Mar 31, 2013I have two servers running behind my D-Link DIR-655 NAT router. Obviously, I cannot allow outside access to both of them simultaneously without putting them on different external ports, which I don't want to do. (DNS can only redirect to the common external IP of my router, not the unique internal IPs of my servers.) The easiest solution I can think of to this is simply to put one of the servers completely outside of the router so that it grabs its own IP address from Comcast (and thus allows me to change my DNS records so that the destination IPs are different.) Is this possible, and if it is, how do I do it?
P.S. I've already tried putting one server into the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) on my router to no avail.

I can give internet connectivity to Head Office Users by giving access in ASA 5520 with following lines: nat (inside) 1 192.168.2.13 255.255.255.255.
I have added line for internet access for Branch Users in following manner in ASA 5520: nat (inside) 1 173.16.33.4 255.255.255.255. My Head Office user can access internet but my branch office user cant access internet. how can i give internet access to my branch office users?
Cisco Firewall :: 5510 QoS Policing Giving More Bandwidth
May 5, 2011I'm working in my lab trying to do proof of concept for traffic policing on the ASA 5510 running 8.0(4). I have two laptops running Ubuntu one on the outside and one on the inside. Both laptops have 100Mbps interfaces. My tests consists of downloading a file from one laptop using HTTP. Without any QoS I can see speeds close to 100Mbps which I would expect. On a side note, try using XP and you won't come close to those speeds. Anyhow, I implement policing using the config below and expect to see the max rate on the laptops during the transfer max out close to the CIR. However, I see speeds much higher on the laptops.
When I set the CIR to 10000 bps with bc at 1500 bytes I get speeds that range from 300Kbps to 700Kbps. I would expect to see speeds max out at the CIR which would be 10Kbps.I'm having a hard time understanding why my numbers don't match.

Jan 14, 2012I have recently bought a new XPS 15Z Currently when I surf the internet I am unable to use the browsers ( IE9 or firefox ). I am able to use non-broswer related internet applications like STEAM, MSN or QQ with no issues in terms of speed or stability. But when I use my browsers to surf, I can have periodic moments when I cannot surf the internet, such as IE9 which says that I cannot connect to the internet due to some unknown error. But when I run diagnostics, it says that I do not have any errors. My adapter for my wired is the Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20). I have already contacted my ISP provider who have worked for with all the troubleshooting methods they can over the phone, and I trust that they are doing their best. But now it seems to me that the problem lies in my computer hardware or software and not in my router.

May 3, 2012My ASA 5505 has stopped giving out DHCP address to my machines.Everything was working fine and nothing has changed in the network. I've reloaded the firewall and clear all DHCP on the firewall I've even re-entered the cmd on the ASA.
I'm able to staticlly assigned address to the clients and all is way. When I do a DHCP debug on the ASA I don't see any events relating to the DHCP service apart from checking for lease expiry.
I've also tried to plug a machine straight into the ASA and no result. I finally did a packet capture and I am seeing the client machine sending out a DHCP discover packet and nothing else is responding.
My ASA config is:
dhcpd address 192.168.3.10-192.168.3.33 inside
dhcpd dns 8.8.4.4 interface inside
dhcpd option 3 ip 192.168.3.1 interface inside
dhcpd enable inside

May 22, 2012I need to connect from an inside host to a host located in the DMZ zone for DNS queries. The host in the DMZ zone has a static NAT to the outside. The point now is that I would like to connect from inside to the NATed outside address, means to the public Internet address.
Inside host: 10.0.0.1 -> PAT for 10.0.0.0/8 to 20.0.0.254 (Outside Interface)
DMZ host: 192.168.1.1 -> NAT to outside to 20.0.0.1
The traffic should be 10.0.0.1 udp>1024 to 20.0.0.1 udp=53. The source IP address on the outside interface now is 20.0.0.254 (according to the PAT), the destination IP address 20.0.0.1. The DNS reply from 20.0.0.1 should go back now to 20.0.0.254 and then to the inside host 10.0.0.1.
I know that on the PIX it was not possible, to have outgoing traffic on the outside interface which immediately enters again the same interface. Can I realize this scenario with the ASA 8.4(3) release now?

This is occurring for several different URLs and not just the one above and for multiple web browsers.The ACE load balances to servers running Tomcat 7 with Apache HTTP server v. 2.2.14. A recent ACE software upgrade to A5(2.1) has not fixed the problem.

The problem I am having is that it just isn't working, and I cannot figure out why- When I started here, there was an address configured to work this way, and it still works- I just cannot find what is different between what I am doing and what the person who configured it did.
