View 14 Replies i am trying to get my ASA 5505 with 2 internal VLANs (voice and data) and external internet VLAN to run in router as a stick, and route between VLANS.
I cant get it working though:
[code]...
I have configured HSRP with InterVlan routing. All communication is flowing properly between the vlan's on Router A but when I test failover to Router B I cant ping ANYWHERE. I cannot ping any of the VLANS.
Also, From the primary router I cannot ping any of the interfaces on the secondary router.
I have 2 Cisco 1921 Routers configured for HSRP. Both the G0/1 ports plug into a Cisco 2960S 48 port POE switch (STACKED) (port 1 and port 2 which are trunked and allowing all vlans to pass through. And both of the G0/0 ports are plugged into a Cisco ASA5510.
I have attached a diagram of the setup and the interface configs of the routers.
last week I installed a new router (2911) in my network. We had to create two different VLANs for the new setup to work as wanted.I have a Windows 2008 R2 which is a Domain Controller for Active Directory on the ip address 192.168.0.195.That server (HP DL180 G6) has two NICs. One has the above IP address and the other one has 192.168.0.199.
On the other VLAN, I have a server, running the same OS, that I want to re-join, as it formerly was, the AD on the first server (192.168.0.195). This server has the new IP address 192.168.10.194.All these are connected to a Cisco switch SG 200-50 Gigabit Smart Switch. That one is connected to a Cisco 2911 router.
The problem is that, once the old 192.168.0.194 got to be 192.168.10.194, the 192.168.0.195 can't ping it anymore... At least not all the time... Sometime it works, sometimes not... Neither can't the 10.194 ping the 0.195 all the time. When one way works the other one doesn't... When one pings the other one successfully, the other one can't...
I have problem with IPV6 connectivity, i have two Cisco 3550 switch and they are connected over a trunk link. The ios is c3550- ipservicesk9-mz. 122- 44.SE6 , I have configured vlans on both switches and i numbered one vlan to vlan 91 ,they can ping each other when i configure ipv4 on both vlans so trunk link is functional, but when i m using IPV6 they can't ping each other!! they can only ping their own ip address not each other. View 11 Replies View RelatedI am at a client that I upgrade from running a single 4507 to two Nexus 5548UP switches with two Nexus 2224 fex's connected. The other access layer switches are 2960S switches. I implemented hsrp on the nexus 5k's for redudancy. The issue they are having is that some networks cannot communicate with each other. All user vlans can communicate with the server vlan, but it is not running hsrp on the vlan interface (there is a reason for that, but it not relavent for this issue). The phone vlan, which is running hsrp, can communicate with all networks.
When I am connected to either 5k, they can communicate with all devices on all networks. However, I am on vlan 10, which is a user vlan. I can communicate fine with the server vlan (vlan 101 - not running hsrp) and the phone vlan (vlan 60 - running hsrp). I cannot communicate with vlan 30 or 40, which are both running hsrp. This makes absolutely no sense at all to me. I checked out trunk ports to be sure that vlans are allowed across the networks as well. There are no firewalls between the vlans or ACL's.
WE have to deploy ASA5585 in between User vlans & server vlans. we have to find all the ports that needs to be opened on firewall. any tools to do same.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new 3560G to set up a small network for a remote site. I configured the vlan and an SVI as the gateway. The switch is also the DHCP server for the LAN. I configured Gi0/2 as L3 port, connecting to the nearest neighbor. My network runs EIGRP so i advertised the routes into the EIGRP process. The switch forms EIGRP neighbors and learns all routes in the enterprise network. The problems I'm having now are: 1. The switch learns all routes in my enterprise LAN and can ping devices in the enterprise LAN, but I can’t ping any interface on the switch from the enterprise LAN. 2.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI set this up and I can ping all the gateways but never the hosts. I was hoping I could make these links between 6500's a mix of L2 and L3. Check it out. They are connected in a linear fashion R1--->R2--->R3. I can ping from R1 to R3's SVI4 gateway but I can never ping a host on that SVI4. I was hoping that I could use the port-channels between 6500's as routed links or as trunk links depending on the type of traffic....thought it would ease the migration. I suppose I could always get rid of the port-channels and just make separate L2 and L3 links between the 6500's.

So now today I noticed that I can no longer find my desktop through the XBox. I have adjusted my firewall settings on the modem itself, even completely disabling it. UPnP is enabled for the 360 and the device is showing under my device table. At first I wasn't able to ping any network devices but after creating an ICMPv4 Firewall rule it worked fine. I've confirmed the XBox IP Address through Network Map, the Device Table on the modem and through Network Settings on the XBox. I've diabled my modem firewall as well as Windows Firewall, completely and I still can't ping my XBox or set it up as an Extender.
I have the XBox connected wirelessly using WPA2-Personal and it's operating in 802.11g/n mode.
I have a strange issue on my ASA 5510 (8.4). I can't ping or connect to the VPN clients but the VPN clients can ping/connect to any inside resources. I have checked all the NAT extemtion entries.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a 3 building client currently on a single LAN/subnet/VLAN1. The client wants to install two public APs in their other buildings. I have selected the Cisco WAP4410n for a few reasons, Price, as budget is a factor for them, the 4410n can have up to 4 SSIDs, and can accommodate different VLANs, and it is PoE.
The public side is to have no access to the LAN, just the internet.According to the documents I have read on the 4410, I am to create two SSIDs, one not broadcasted (VLAN1) and one that is broadcasted and public (VLAN2) Both SSIDs would be Isolated from each other.
I assign the switch port attached to the AP to VLAN2, but cannot access the internet. I believe that the two VLANs need to be bridged in either a L3 switch or a router, is this correct? Is that the only way I will be able to get internet access in this situation?A while back someone posted a link to a Cisco workshop. It was set in a spaceship, and the student, me, had to get internet access to different parts of the ship by installing different APs and antennas. Also had to give the people and aliens on the ship different levels of access.
if I want to bridge between 2 VLANs ,can I use IRB like I would use in a router for bridging to ethernet interfaces for example?
Config example:
bridge irb
interface vlan 10
ip address 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.0
bridge-group 1

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a question about QoS and how, or if, it functions between a layer 2 switch and a router. My question is, can a frame's COS sent from a layer 2 switch to a router be recognized and converted (mapped) to a DSCP setting without the use of a vlan (not the native vlan1), and can the reverse be done from a router to a layer 2 switch? Can QoS be preserved as it passes through the different devices? I know, pretty basic, but I have to start somewhere.
