I need to change my DCS-942L camera settings remotely when I am not connected to my home wireless network. When I am at home, I just type in the local IP address of the camera (192.168.0.100) into my browser to access the firmware. How can I do the same when I am away from home and obviously not connected to the local WiFi?
View 1 RepliesWhen I change a setup setting and click save settings, most of the time it gets stuck on the "saving..." notification window and eventually I get a "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page" notification. However I have found that if I repeatedly try it eventually it will accept the change. This never happens using the wizards only making manual changes. I am running the camera with a Wi-Fi connection. I am not sure this is a router or camera firmware bug (running V1.12)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a broadband connection and recently I bought a new D-Link wireless router for accessing internet on my Android phone via Wi-Fi. Router model no. is N 150 DIR-524.After configuring it was working fine for a week or so and then one fine day internet stopped working on my PC and router LED for internet was not glowing as well. So I called my ISP and they changed my ethernet card settings (nVidia).They changed the 'Speed/duplex settings' from 'Auto Negotiation' to '10 Mb Half Duplex' and then the internet started working. During this they had disconnected my router. Once they were gone, I reset the router and connected it back. Since then it ain't working Internet works fine when the cable is plugged directly in the ethernet card but doesn't work when plugged via router. Router does everything right from opening the '192.168.0.1' page to saving the settings. But there's no internet access.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm currently looking for a way to change all of our Laptop & Workstation (Approx 250+ machines) BIOS passwords using a remote tool if possible. The majority of laptops are Latitude and the workstations OptiPlex although most of the laptops have BitLocker activated. We also use Empirum software to push out software.
I have been looking around and into using the Dell Client Configuration Utility and also the OpenManage tool although I'm not too sure if they would work for us due to us using BitLocker.
I have my 942L set up for continuous recording. When I look at the files, the camera will record between 20 and 55 seconds, end that file and start another. The next file then starts between a few seconds and as much as 40 seconds later leaving a gap in the video recoding. The file sizes are all different and the amount of record time is different for each file.
Also, about 80% of the time, the time increments a few seconds on a playback and then stops updating even though the video is longer.
I just got the camera today, looks good, works good, at least so far.. BUT I was SURE this camera had a battery and charge function!? What's the point of having this camera if I can't place it say inside my car or in the garage (where it needs to be hidden, alas I can't use any cords!)?

If I can connect to this ASA remotely on the outside interface via ADSM, can I be sure I won't lose connectivity with the ASA while I'm changing the internal interfaces? If I can do this, it would save me a 2,000 mile flight and back Seems doable to me, but thought I'd ask.... I guess I could also engineer a remote access solution that connects to the Mgmt0 interface on the ASA, but that would take time and equipment.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI had a disaster occur on my "guest" OS within VMware-Player. I had to start over from scratch! I am back in business, except for having the virtual machine recognized by my existing wireless network. The other two computers still communicate.I went through the wireless setup routine for the new VM. A new "ID" was assigned. Obviously, this is different from the one currently in use on the network. I have the settings info on a flash drive. Can I simply insert the FD in the other two computers and have the new ID replace the existing one?

speed/duplex -> 100 mbps full
I tried setting it back to what it was before to no avail:
checksum offload -> Rx and Tx Enabled
Speed/Duplex -> Auto Negotiation
I'm still able to ping URLs and IPs, but cant get to any websites or even the modem page. I tried rebooting,power cycling...nothing works so far.
bought a second hand laptop but all previous owners details are still in. they must have been on a dial-up network want to change to broadband,how? also need to sort out wifi.

When I connect the internet directly into the computer, I get download speed up to 21.07 mbps and upload speed of 3.07. When I connect through the router download speed 1.31mbps and upload speed of 1.01.I have no clue how to make changes to the router.

Is there a program to do this?Or is this something that should go inside an init script where if it is weekend or weekday from 7 pm to 7 am, then consider it a home. If it is home, then use static IP.?
I am working on installing a new 2500 Controller with 2 AIR-LAP1242G's attached to it. I have both registered and on the controller but I am having trouble moving one of them to a new IPS AP group that I created. Furthermore, I noticed the default gateway is missing from the static ip settings and I am unable to add that as well. When I add the default gateway and hit apply, the controller does nothing. Same thing for when I try to change my WIPS device to monitor mode.
A couple other things that I noticed is that when I go to AP groups and try to remove the AP's from the default group, there is no remove button when you go inside the default group like I see when i go into my IPS group.The AP's are on software ver 12.4(23c)JA3 Boot ver 12.4.13.0 and the controller is at 7.0.22.0I have already power cycled the controller and both AP's.
I have 1.00 build 0522 and searching the support website I see no link. But reading here I see there is a later version.

I am unable to return my cameras to staples and Im out the money for the memory cards I opened. It says you can record with MAC clearly on the box!!!! Bad business practice for STAPLES and DLINK.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed an IP camera, and had to change my E1000 router settings to a static IP address. Now I can't access the router settings. 192.168.1.1 is still the default gateway, but it won't open in any browser.
I'm reluctant to do a reset because it took me quite a while to figure out how to get the IP camera and port forwarding working (it does!), and I'd hate to do it all again and come to the same place. I'm not very good at this stuff, and it's a small miracle that I did it once.

Works great on my android phone and connects fairly quick. When I try to see the camera image on my PC with windows 7 64 bit, I log into my d-link and it shows the camera name on left side of screen, then says Java run time environment not installed.I uninstalled java 5 times and re installed both 32 and 64 bit but keeps coming back as not installed. Camera is set up wirelessly through a Belkin router, so far no EZ config
Is there such a possibility in the firmware or through telnet?

I just bought new 942L (HW Rev3, 1.12 FW) and the only profile which is used to stream to iPhone or Web browser in mydlink is profile 3 which is limited to JPEG. Is there some way how to change the profile to be used for streams or is there a way how to make to profile 3 something else then JPEG?

The DCS942 (which is right near but facing the other direction) is about 2 meters away from one of the 932's but the 942 keeps going offline - it comes back on and off probably 4-5 time during a 24hr period.
This is most frustrating - it would look like Wifi signal strength could be the issue but the other 932 right near it doesn't have this issue?
I initially set it up for static IP, which was a mistake for reasons I probably don't need to go into here. Having recognized my mistake, I've been trying to hard reset it so I can convince it to acquire its IP address by DHCP, but each time I reset it and return to the "First, select your camera" screen in the setup wizard, I'm faced with a single choice: the device as I first set it up for static IP. I don't seem to be able to convince it to give up that erroneous static IP address.I have read the FAQ section on hard reset. I've held down the reset button for a lot longer than 6 seconds while the cam was connected to power and ethernet, and I've watched it go through the sequence of flashing blue reset and WPS lights until it settles down, but this doesn't change the situation, evidently.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Dlink DCS-942Ls had been updated to the latest firmware both 1.12.1608WW and 1.12.1628EU. (I grouped them into two firmware devices). They are all H/W version A1, agent version 2.0.15-b11. If I setup time to automatic time configuration and sync with NTP servers ( all from drop down list and Thailand NTP server time1.nimt.or.th) , they did not work and I must set time manually every times I power off and on these IP cameras. I knew that this issues has been raised for long times and still exist in the current firmware.Simple way to eliminate this problem is specifying NTP server into IP number. ping your national NTP server URL and then get the IP address , e.g. time1.nimt.or.th has IP 203.185.69.60 , or ntp1.dlink.com has IP 61.67.210.241. I have tested many ways and the results can be comfirmed that URL NTP letter cannot sync time but IP number can do. I also has a DAP-1360 Repeater mode and test with its "System Check" ping test, the result are success either URL NTP server name and IP number. NTP protocol is different to ping test. I'm not sure that which parties (ISP, DNS, Router, IP camera device) should fix this error. I decided to specify NTP server with IP number to all network devices from D-Link. Minor risk may occur if a national NTP server change its IP number.

Would have been nice to know that before I did it. Since the upgrade from 1.02 1030 I get this note:The throughput of the SD Card on your camera is not currently enough for recording. We suggest you to reformat the SD Card or replace it with a higher class one.

I have the DCS-942L which allows me to set the date/time zone but when I try to add motion detection settings the page always times out during the save. I tried using CaT-5 CABLE instead of wifi for settings (camera on same router and desktop pc) but after the "saving" message appears, it eventually times out and I have to click the Back arrow to return only to find none of my settings saved. I also want to note that each time I log in I see a broken certificate error message. Using Win8 with IE10. Also tried on Win7 with IE9 and XP Pro with IE8.

I also have done the dyndns service also. I will note if I change the http port in the camera settings to say 82 I get a black screen and cannot view my camera till I switch back to port 80. Reason why I want to do this is I need to view my camera for more then 60 seconds.
