After changing these NIC settings I am no longer able to connect to the internet:
checksum offload -> disabled
speed/duplex -> 100 mbps full
I tried setting it back to what it was before to no avail:
checksum offload -> Rx and Tx Enabled
Speed/Duplex -> Auto Negotiation
I'm still able to ping URLs and IPs, but cant get to any websites or even the modem page. I tried rebooting,power cycling...nothing works so far.
Every so often (random amounts of time) my internet setting either on the router or pc change and then I it comes up with an error that my settings aren't the same as my router... I use a Orange Live box and windows 7. also when I want to sign into games for windows that sometime crashes the internet and on DOW2 and minecraft.

I am back in business, except for having the virtual machine recognized by my existing wireless network. The other two computers still communicate.I went through the wireless setup routine for the new VM. A new "ID" was assigned. Obviously, this is different from the one currently in use on the network. I have the settings info on a flash drive. Can I simply insert the FD in the other two computers and have the new ID replace the existing one?

When I connect the internet directly into the computer, I get download speed up to 21.07 mbps and upload speed of 3.07. When I connect through the router download speed 1.31mbps and upload speed of 1.01.I have no clue how to make changes to the router.

Is there a program to do this?Or is this something that should go inside an init script where if it is weekend or weekday from 7 pm to 7 am, then consider it a home. If it is home, then use static IP.?
When I change a setup setting and click save settings, most of the time it gets stuck on the "saving..." notification window and eventually I get a "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page" notification. However I have found that if I repeatedly try it eventually it will accept the change. This never happens using the wizards only making manual changes. I am running the camera with a Wi-Fi connection. I am not sure this is a router or camera firmware bug (running V1.12)

I have a broadband connection and recently I bought a new D-Link wireless router for accessing internet on my Android phone via Wi-Fi. Router model no. is N 150 DIR-524.After configuring it was working fine for a week or so and then one fine day internet stopped working on my PC and router LED for internet was not glowing as well. So I called my ISP and they changed my ethernet card settings (nVidia).They changed the 'Speed/duplex settings' from 'Auto Negotiation' to '10 Mb Half Duplex' and then the internet started working. During this they had disconnected my router. Once they were gone, I reset the router and connected it back. Since then it ain't working Internet works fine when the cable is plugged directly in the ethernet card but doesn't work when plugged via router. Router does everything right from opening the '192.168.0.1' page to saving the settings. But there's no internet access.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am working on installing a new 2500 Controller with 2 AIR-LAP1242G's attached to it. I have both registered and on the controller but I am having trouble moving one of them to a new IPS AP group that I created. Furthermore, I noticed the default gateway is missing from the static ip settings and I am unable to add that as well. When I add the default gateway and hit apply, the controller does nothing. Same thing for when I try to change my WIPS device to monitor mode.
A couple other things that I noticed is that when I go to AP groups and try to remove the AP's from the default group, there is no remove button when you go inside the default group like I see when i go into my IPS group.The AP's are on software ver 12.4(23c)JA3 Boot ver 12.4.13.0 and the controller is at 7.0.22.0I have already power cycled the controller and both AP's.
I just restored my computer (Windows XP) to factory settings and it won't connect to the internet. I'm running an ethernet connection. I tried to look up a solution online but nothing has worked. Also, Im sure its not an issue with the modem, because all the other computers in the office are connecting to the internet just fine. It's only this one computer?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed an IP camera, and had to change my E1000 router settings to a static IP address. Now I can't access the router settings. 192.168.1.1 is still the default gateway, but it won't open in any browser.
I'm reluctant to do a reset because it took me quite a while to figure out how to get the IP camera and port forwarding working (it does!), and I'd hate to do it all again and come to the same place. I'm not very good at this stuff, and it's a small miracle that I did it once.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI tried changing the WEP to WPA because I recently found out our neighbors were stealing internet from us. However after doing all this changing around I used 192.168... And all that and was able to change the ssid and the passphrase but after doing so the Internet stopped working. We are able to connect but it says there's no service or limited connectivity so no web pages or anything loads. Now I can't get back to the router page by typing that 192.168. stuff because there's no Internet. Don't know what to do. This is my fathers ISP and it's not the greatest considering the location. I've tried unplugging the router and whatnot but that's not working either. I think we need to get back on the router page and fix something but it's not allowing us to since there's no Internet. Am I going to have to change back to a WEP.. I dont really want too. The router may need to be upgraded too because it's pretty ancient.
View 4 Replies View RelatedA router restart. I changed the wpa to wen so I could connect my ds to wifi.So far what I have done was restart the modem, it's a Cisco wag120n. This is a wireless so the moment I changed to wen, I lost connection. I then used a cable to connect to the modem and managed to change the settings in the router page 192.168.1.1 back to wpa but with no success connecting to the Internet. I then tried ressetting the modem and computer with no luck. I cut the power to the modem router and turned off computer for 5 minutes. I then turned the modem back til it was stable and then the computer, again with no luck. I then factory reset via the button manually and via the modem page but both ended up with the unable to connect to primary DNS server.

I set up the wireless router last week and got my laptop to work on the wireless connection. Now I am unable to get my boyfriend's computer to connect to it, when it never had this issue before with the previous wireless. The first day I had it set up, it said it connected, with an "excellent" connection strength, but then the status was 'unable to connect.' I was on the phone with the Verizon guy, who after doing a screen share, said it was my IP address.
So I tried resetting my IP through the CMD, with no luck. Now it doesn't even let me connect to the wireless at all. I've tried both the Intel PROSet/Wireless and the Microsoft client to connect (this is running Windows XP) and when I click 'repair' on the Microsoft client, it tells me it couldn't be corrected because it could not renew the IP address. The firewall is currently off and I removed the defunct McAfee that was never renewed anyway[CODE]

The router is upstairs, next to TV(same location as the BT router). I dont know why the wireless Internet signal has become very weak. The only way I can use the Internet if I sit a few feet from the router. Even then, streaming videos on youtube still takes a while compared to BT. This affects all devices using wireless connection - even my Iphone is useless when used downstairs.
Signal interferance/ hacking? Router? Wireless adapter is up to date.

I successfully changed my graphics card (i think...) i can run all the games that i couldnt run before but.. I am having trouble connecting to the internet after changing the card. it seems like my computer isnt recognizing the inernet network. i know the network is fine because im writing this w/ my itouch which is connected to the network wifi. When i right click the red X icon w/ two computers and click "connect to a network" , it says "windows cannot find any networks" and i have no network options to choose from. Is it because i uninstalled drivers related to the network connection..?

View 13 Replies View RelatedA few months back, my computer stopped connecting to networks. Through some process or another, I ended up "fixing" it by manually inserting the ipv4 settings. Apparently that only allows it to connect to my router though, as public wi fi won't work for it. If I leave the ipv4 settings set to automatically obtain information, the computer won't connect to the network. It will stay on the "identifying network" part indefinitely. In addition, I can't connect through the modem directly either, manual settings or not.
