D-Link DIR-600 :: Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
Dec 7, 2010
i have my Nintendo DS. I've been trying a lot of times connecting to CWF. I Successfully connect. But when i try to play some games, (For example Mario Kart DS) when i'm starting a race, it just says someone disconnected. Is this a Router Firewall problem? Also i saw on Nintendo Site that i have to open: Also how to change from WPA to WPE? How do i open them in router? I did in firewall, but seems to don't work.

I have this Huawei E1552 (HSDPA USB Stick) and I can't figure out how to do two things: 1. I'd like to make it share it's internet connection wirelessly to other devices. I've managed to connect my PC and PS3 with ethernet cable to get connection and I believe some have managed to do it wirelessly, but I can't figure out how to get my Nintendo 3DS to find that connection. I've tried putting wireless connection in the sharing part of the connection, but it didn't seem to work.

I recently was able to obtain my son's Nintendo 3DS from him and now I can't figure out how to get on the internet browser with it!When I open up the internet on his 3DS and when I try to access anything it says communication error even though I have a full signal. It also says that the "error code is: 012-1018 Connection to proxy server failed. Please check that your proxy server settings are correct." I have went in and tried to change the proxy server settings and if I do I lose the internet connection despite the fact that the correct information is set in place. I even tried to reset the router (as my son did before) but I can't access it, even though he was able to!! I have done research on the Nintendo web site and everything that it says to do I have done and it shows that I have a full signal but after that no luck.

If the two are compatable, how exactly do I go about setting them up, without compromising my security settings? Whenever I search for a wireless signal on my DS, I come across the router but it's locked and when I attempt to sign on to wifi in my games, I recieve error code 20100.

E3000 uses WPA secutiry...Nintendo DS ONLY works with WEP security.
Can I change my E3000 to WEP? on a Nintendo support site per this issue, it says:
Routers using the Cisco Connect software default to WPA security, which is not compatible with online multiplayer with Nintendo DS Game Cards. To change your wireless security mode to WEP, you will need to use your router's web utility instead of Cisco Connect.
A) is that true
B) if so....HOW?
Bottom line, I NEED to be able to do this. If it's not possible, than I made a very bad purchase decision & will never do so again

I just bought a "DLink Xtreme N Gigabit Router DIR-655" I configured it correctly. It works well for the wireless connection but my Lan connection (wired connection) does not work. The Lan computer connects to the router but cannot access the internet. All of my machines work OK with a Netgear G router, including the Lan computer.

I purchased the D-link DWA-131 wireless adapter about 3 months ago. ever since I got it when using it, the connection will spike to 1000 ping (on any server/web address) about once every 2-3 minutes, I think it might be overheating, but i'm not sure What i've tried already: updating the drivers using both windows zero configuration and the utility that came with the d-link product my old adapter still works correctly (on the same pc, using Zero configuration, same USB port)

I've had it for a little over a year and its always been really good with internet connection, strength-wise and speed, never dropping below 95% and just a Megabyte or two off from my corded computer. I have a high end d-link network card in two other computers as well and they each experience the same problem. So something is up with the router. Frequently, when I connect this specific computer to the internet, it drops wireless signal completely and won't connect for any computer for a couple minutes. Then suddenly, out of the blue i'll regain connection. Also, i used to always get a strong 35 Mbps on wireless, which I still do on corded, but now i only do on rare occasion. Most of the time i'm stuck at 12 or 14 and even more often, it drops to 1 or 2. Very unstable. I have reset it it multiple times, along with my modem, still same old problem persists...

In Eastern WA I had Fiber Optic so my internet went straight into the router and I would get a 300 Mbps connection. Moving back to Western WA I had to get cable so my router is connected to a cable modem. Motorola SURFboard SB6121. Now I can only manage a 130 Mbps connection wirelessly to my laptop.

I've had my DIR-615 since December 2009, and have never had an issue to date. I've used my XBOX, Nintendo DS, iPod touch, and my laptop with it with no issues. Well, yesterday, my mom decided to switch ISP's from Qwest DSL to Xfinity and I thought that if I plugged it right in, it would work since the setting's hadn't changed. Well, that didn't work. I can access the internet with the modem plugged straight to the computer but I still need to be able to access wireless to keep the home free of war, So thinking that I needed to look at the settings by going to 192.168.1.0, I tried. And tried, and tried again. And it says the same thing every time: that the page is not available. In the past, I've done it to change the settings for my DS but sometimes it took me to the Qwest page for it

It seems like those two don't play well together on Windows 7 Pro x64... I haven't been able to find out if they are supposed to be 'compatible' - maybe I shouldn't have made that assumption...The problem is that I cannot connect at all using the DGE-530. Win 7 tells me it's an Unidentified Network' and that the connection doesn't have a valid IP Configuration. Over the past few days I've tried the numerous suggestions that are posted on the Windows Forums, but no luck. Cables have been tested and are OK (CAT6), and I swapped to a different DGE-530, also no luck. I can connect just fine using my onboard NVIDIA NIC, and there's no problem with Wireless. I'm thinking of getting a small Gigabit switch.

My DIR-655 has worked for 2 years, but can no longer access the internet. My ISP is (Rockbridge Global Village -sub of Ntelos) and my modem is a Zhone. My connection type is DHCP, QoS is set to active, and the IP address boxes are not being filled in. The cables check out ok and there is no problem connecting to the internet if I bypass the DIR-655 and connect direct to the modem. Hardware is A4 with firmware 1.21
Nothing has changed in the house with regards to new cordless phones or wireless devices and I am using the same Zhone modem. I have tried returning to factory defaults and reconfiguring.

So I have been trying to resolve this issue I have to no avail. Right now I am considering downgrading to a DIR-615 but having issues there and that is another story.
My computers speed test at 15+ megs no problems. I can stream Netflix on Xbox no problem as well as my BD player hooked wireless. All no issues, I have no disconnect issues with the router at all. In fact, it has run flawless since purchase and it has current 2.05NA firmware. Anyway, the problem I have is the PS3. I speed test the PS3 and I am getting 4 megs download at best. Up load is around 1. My friend, who is with the IP as me, Comcast, same internet package and we both have dedicated internet. His will speed test at 12 + and averages about 8 on a Saturday night.
I have had disconnects on the PS3 and I am sure it is due to this low bandwidth. I have messed with the DMZ with no success. I am about to try reserving the static IP I will create as soon as PSN is back up. My firends router is a DIR-615. Why would my (supposedly) uber router cut my broadband like this on the PS3?
Yes, I hooked PS3 up to modem direct and tested at 12.5megs dwn and 3-4 up I think Type1 NAT. Which tells me I am direct to a modem. Put my expensive router in the mix and it drops back to 4. All in all I am happy with this router, just this one issue. No I do not have it in QoS and see no reason to put it in there honestly. Plus, I doubt it would make it better being that I can get the 12 with it being connected to modem.

I have bought a new router to my parents these days, it a DIR-615 HW H1 firmware version 8. We have a ZyXEL Prestige 2000 series DLS modem.
There is no problems with connection to the DIR-615 router, but the strange problem occurs when I plugs in the internet cable. At the beginning the internet start to work fine but after some time the internet does not work anymore. What may cause the problem? The internet works if I plug the internet cable in my computer and it also work with the old router.

I recently purchased a DIR-815 and am currently trying to use the 2.4 GHz Wireless mode so I can connect a remote WiFI product to it (approx 30 feet separation) to get access to the internet for sending email and to FTP data from the remote WiFi product over the internet. It is imperative that this connectivitiy be reliable and continuously accessible. The PC host and the WiFI product are unattended and require 24/7 use and conneciton reliability.
My problem is that for no apparent reason the connectivity to the DIR-815 by the PC host (wired to DIR-815 by ethernet) is not reliable....and even though the connection is obviously lost, my PC thinks it is still connected according to the Network status info shown in Windows. I then have to do a Network Repair on the PC to get the connection back. Whenever this is happening during the loss of connectivity by the PC to the DIR-815, the WiFi connection from my remote WiFi product is also lost which we cannot tolerate.
PC host is connected to DIR-815 via ethernet cable. DIR-815 is connected to a ViaSat Surf Beam Satellite modem (model SM2100) that is accessing Big Blue sattelite service as the ISP. I have the DIR-815 using 2.4 Ghz channel set to WEP2 TPIK-AES security. When connected everything works fine. We just need it to stay coonnected without having to be rebooted all the time.
Is there any way to resolve this problem and improve the connection reliability of the DIR-815?? I wish there were some way to send a WiFI command from our remote application to the DIR-815 to reboot it, which we could program into the remote product, but when wireless connectivity is lost, obviously that is not possible.

My internet has never had many issues, but since 2 days ago it has been frequently dropping the connection every so often (maybe every 10-30 minutes). The speed jumps all over the place, reaching as high as 2mb/s and then dumping down to 0.14 kbps while going up and down. I am not sure what the issue is. I am running wirelessly on my desktop using a D-Link DWA-130 adapter.

Yesterday, my linksys router broke down suddenly. I went to the store and bought a new one, a d-link DIR-615. After plugging it in and setting it up, i tried loading web pages and it worked ok. It wasn't as fast as my linksys router but it was fine. When i tried loading youtube videos, that wasn't the same story. The videos didn't load. It started playing but then stopped after a couple of seconds. When i connected my computer directly to the modem, the videos loaded fast. There seems to be something wrong with the video streaming.

I've been beating my head up over this issue for the last couple days. I have a DLink DGE-530T Gigabit NIC in my computer, which runs through a DGS-2205 Gigabit Switch and the switch is then connected to a DIR-655 Gigabit router. The basic issue is this:
whenever I set the speed of the NIC to "Auto-Negotiate" or "1000Mbps" it will start connecting and disconnecting every few seconds. After a little while on my Windows Server 2003 computer, it will blue screen and say there was a memory parity error and to contact the vendor. On my Windows XP machine with the same NIC, it will just sit there connecting and disconnecting.

My DIR 651 randomly drops connection, is not set for IP fragments (error on PS3 even though I set MTU), and has a flashing green globe compared to my other DLink router which has a solid green globe (replaced with DIR 651). I have BHN Road Runner Turbo (Speeds of 30mb/2mb) and my modem (supplied by ISP) is a Motorola SB5100.

I already mention on another topic that I have problems with my Nokia 500 wireless connection with the router. From time to time (in some cases after few seconds since the connection was made) it's loosing the connectivity with the router. Normally it's loosing the connectivity when the connection it's not used by any phone application. Is this normal? I want to mention that the power saving function of the phone it's disabled so the problem can be from the router.I already tried TPIK only but no success.
The router has the following setings:
- Enable Auto Channel Selection - checked
-Transmission Rate : automatic
- WMM Enable: checked for QoS
- Cipher Type : auto
- PSK / EAP : PSK
Advanced wireless:
- Beacon interval : 100
- RTS Threshold : 2346
- Fragmentation : 2346
- DTIM interval : 1
- Preamble Type : Short
- CTS Mode : Auto
- Wireless Mode : n/g/b
- Band Width : Auto

I recently bought a dlink 825 and it seems right out of the box the wired internet connection seems very poor. Wireless works fine but it on wired the router refuses to download any files larger than 300kb. Images won't load, files won't downloads, etc. I've swapped cables, tried two different computers, hard reset, loaded the 3.01 firmware and nothing seems to work. I went back to my old router and it works fine. I am able to transfer from computer to computer okay with the 825,The cable modem is a SA dpc2100.

Here is my configuration. My new DIR-601 router is connected this way. Wan port to Isp modem, LanP1 to a Win7 Pc1, LanP2 to a Linksys router, DHCP diisable using the 4 LAN ports as a switch in wich 2 Pc are connected 1) Win Xp PC2 and 2) Ubuntu 10.04 PC3.
The problem is , I can not access internet behind the telesyn switch, PC2 and PC3 have no access to Html servers on the Wan, except if I define PC2 or PC3 , only 1 allowed at a time, as DMZ. If I plug PC2 or PC3 directly in DIR-601 port everything is ok.
Why DIR601 port connected to a switch does not work the same way than conected to a PC. Any solution to give Internet access to PC behind a switch ?
NB: This work if I replace DIR601 with DIR620 router.

I have seen several posts regarding internet connection dropping. Mine does the same. I have a cable modem in front of the router. The router is setup with two SSID's (one 2.4GHz, and the other 5GHz). So often the connectivity to ENET drops, forcing me to power cycle the router. Other then the two SSID's, the router setup is factory default. I need to debug this. I have noriced that the DNS IP addresses do not show up under setup. Where do I start?
