I just purchased a Dlink DSL-2750U today which I am using with my ADSL connection. I have three wired computers using this connection and no wireless systems at the moment. I would like to know if it's possible to share the bandwidth evenly amongst these three computers? The other two computers are hogging on the bandwidth leaving me with barely anything to work with.

1- We have 800+ network device to monitor , can we install by range of address instead of instlling one by one in device host database ?
2- Do We have to install all 800 device first on Primary and then again on backup or Primary will replicate to backup server?
3- We do not have real IP address yet, so if we built with dummy address and make them pair and all the database sync, then when we change their IP address, will the distributed primary pair will have any issue with backup ACS server?
I was looking to 6500 series switches. I saw DFC4 module (WS-F6K-DFC4-A, WS-F6K-DFC4-AXL) and (WS-F6K-DFC4-E, WS-F6K-DFC4-EXL). Data sheet for supervisor engine 2T wrote that for maximum performance you should DFC4. I'm a bit confused. I didn't any useful information about it:
1. DFC4 is a separate module(consumes 1 slot)? Does it have any ports on it?
2. Is it a daughter card? If yes, should it be installed on supervisor or it should be installed on line cards?

2 Microsoft TMG servers (could be any W2K8 R2 based server, e.g. UAG, Exchange etc.) configured for Unicast NLB. The servers are connected to separate L2 switches which are connected to a highly available central L3 switch (see attached drawing).
Unicast NLB works in such a way that it uses a shared virtual IP and a virtual MAC addres which is not used as Source MAC address when the TMG servers are respondign to requests.Basically it relies onto the fact that the switch does not learn the virtual MAC address and floods all packets destined to the virtual MAC on all ports. The L3 switch would learn the MAC through ARP. The question now is, what the L3 switch would do, if it receives a packet destined for the NLB VIP. It should do an ARP request in order to receive the virtual MAC. How would he decide on which port(s) to forward the packet as he does not know on which port the MAC is found. Can he make a decision based on Layer 3 (IP/VLAN based) therefore he knows that the VLAN for the TMGs is connected on those two uplink ports?
I am struggling in some areas to work out my firewall rules for a distributed deployment. The referenced documentation is not entirely clear in my opinion. In some instances it is easy to work out what ports need to be opened eg Admin node TCP 22,80,443 for management from administrator hosts/ranges. In other instances it difficult to work out eg TCP 1521 Database listener and AQ is this for ISE nodes only or for access devices aswell
My question is whether there is a better document that details these requirements. What rules are meant to be ISE node - ISE node communications and which rules are for access device - ISE, or ISE - access device. One of the rules I am pretty confused about is the PSN CoA ports. SHould the rule be WLC - PSN on 1700 and 3799 or is it the otherway round or unidirectional?
I am pretty sure that the ports are meant to be ISE-ISE in most instances barring the PSN for Radius and CoA.

Sis asked if there is a way to give her laptop bandwith priority over the kids devices. As is, they are all sharing limited DSL bandwidth. Reading the manual, I see the QOS feature for specific types of traffic, and other limiters and schedules to shut out certain MAC addresses entirely. But wondering if this throttling feature exists in the router also.

Ideally, I'd like to keep a locked primary WiFi for high-speed usage (I know, nothing it really ever secure) and an open guest zone for low-speed usage to whomever wants it. As far as I can tell, the DIR-655 doesn't support this kind of configuration.
i just increased my band width from my provider to 50 down ..3 up ..I can get almost the 3 up while connected to my d link but only about 2.5 down ..when i bypass my d link i get mid 40's down and 2.8 up .. for some reason my d link is slowing down my speed . View 5 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a 100M fiber line to go with a brand new D-Link DIR-655 router. Before plugging in the router, I tested on my laptop directly from the modem and had great result speeds of 98M/97M. I connected the router, then plugged my laptop to find I was only getting speeds of about 10M/6M. This was true for both wired and wireless connections.
I took a look at the router settings. I turned off QoS, but that didn't work. One thing I did see was the WAN was set to auto. I attempted to change that to 100mbps or to 1000mpbs. However, when I did that my modem light that shows a 100M connection is active turned off and I couldn't get internet. I was only able to get a connection if I left that on auto. Is there a setting somewhere that is limiting my bandwidth from the router?I reset the router twice and checked to find I had the latest firmware. Is there something that I am missing? I have always been a Linksys fan, but wanted to see how D-Link is.
This has finally become a BIG problem. Any time I have iTunes running and downloading podcasts, it hogs all the bandwidth for the Internet (but not the local network). This is not only slowing down access from the machine running iTunes and the downloads but for every other device trying to web browse.I'm running two Macs and one Windows/Dell PC on the network. All are hard-wired (Ethernet) to the DIR-655. How to throttle iTunes? I did some research and found that I am apparently not the only one having this issue.I'm about to bail on iTunes entirely and try to get used to Miro, which does allow bandwidth control.

Does it dynamically load balances the internet connection? Sometimes while I'm playing online games on my PC and a few others are using the internet for browsing or Youtube, I lag A LOT. Latency shoots up from 10 to 200. QoS goes to ****. And I only need 0.50-1Mbps to keep a steady online play. This was the problem with my 2Wire. How to controller wireless bandwidth in WE941ND.
I have playon and the online bandwidth is showing slow. I did speedtest and it shows 20mbps, but the playon says below 2. No windows (7) security is enabled and avast is turned off. i rebooted and get the same results.I also cannot do any updates for my windows 7. I try and it says that it cannot do the update. I check the logs and all of the updates were done fine up to when I installed the 655; now it doesn't work.
Playon support says check network, which I have done, and the only thing left is the 655.

I have a TD-W8970. In settings "Bandwidth Manager" there is an option to put a value between 1 and 8, but does not specify which is better (1 or 8). What the value to give more priority to a computer to another?
My younger brother uses IDM to download files and it slows my Internet down to a crawl. I've tried reasoning with him but its not getting through to him. Is there any way I can use my router (bcz only I have access to it) to limit IDM?

After lot of troubleshooting and efforts I figured out there seems to be BUG with routers firmware 0.6.0 1.1 v0005.0 Build 120926 Rel.27100n.When you enable Bandwidth control, FTP stops working from Internet. However, it does work from local network. When you disable Bandwidth control, FTP starts working from internet as well as local network.

hardware version is WR841N v8.wireless works just fine. i use it for my smartphone and an old laptop. i use ethernet cable to connect to main computer where all is ok until i start using my bit torrent client. as soon as i build up traffic above 1MB the ethernet portion of the router freezes and needs a reboot. when frozen, wireless is still working and i still have access on the lan to the router via my browser. i got this router so i could have wifi for my phone. my old router (asus rx3041) worked just fine and i accessed my isp at the maximum speeds it would allow on a 60 gigabit connection.

Just had my line upgraded to 50mbit down, and 10mbit up. Whenever the router is between the PC and the modem, my speeds drop to 30mbit. If i plug directly into the modem, I get the full 50Mbit. Upload speeds are always 10mbit.I've tried power cycling devices, and even replaced all cables with cat6 (which I know isn't the issue, but i'm just trying to eliminate everything)

Looking at the manual for this router in regards to bandwidth restrictions.When you set up the Rules under Bandwidth Control does this setting shared by the IP range or does each IP in the range get that amount of bandwidth?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI show up at this business. They have about 40-50 systems. They have a 2003 AD server with a router, and 4 switches. There is also a dvr system on the network for cameras. Each switch is daisy chained together. Everything is working correctly except for the fact that the network drops about 5 times a day. Before they called us, they would just unhook one switch and plug it back in and it would work. At first, we took that switch and exchanged it with another switch in a computer lab to see if just the computer lab goes down. If it did, then that switch was bad. That wasn't the case, the whole network still went down. We had already left, but when we go back, our first choice will to see if there is a loop anywhere within the switch that will flood the network. Then, we were going to see if there was a switch that was getting a lot of traffic on the network to try to track it down. How can u monitor the bandwidth on the switches? They are 24 port switches. The switch is fs750/24 switch.
