I want to connect to the internet with a wireless connection on a new computer. When I connect I am asked the security code that I do not know where to look.

I get this new router TL-WR841N from amazon.com, I get no signal/internet connection on my computer when I install/connect the router using the installation min CD (same procedure at listed here: url...The DSL connection is good, since I get internet connection when I connect my modem directly (without the router) to my computer. My modem is the old Siemens SpeedStream 4100 with IP Address of 192.168.0.1 from ATT.Is my router deficit ?
I bought this router a couple of months ago and it was working fine until this morning. I tried to use the internet and there was no connection at all (wired or wireless). I tried power cycling but that didn't work. I finally decided to call my DSL provider and we changed the setup from the router connecting to PPPOE to the modem connecting to PPPOE. Now, my two computers (wired) can access the internet but all my wireless devices (Android and BB) connect to the SSID (unique) but can't actually access the net.I called DLink but they decided to stop assisting me once I told them that my computers could connect but not the wireless devices. They said I need to call the manufacturers of my wireless devices - I really doubt that all 4 of my wireless devices are faulty.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have got a TP link wireless router connected by TP link power line ethernet adapters connected to my sky box, one to Samsung Smart TV, which both work fine the third I have connected to my computer. This shows up as as a local area connection but with no internet access. I have similar problems to other people with internet access dropping out after installing Windows * and had hoped an ethernet connection would be more stable. Any thoughts on why I can't connect to the internet via my powerline adapter.

My wifi is working with no problem but when I hook up my computer to 1 of the 4 Lan ports I can't seem to connect to the internet I can however log in my router no problem. But I don't get internet access... I wonder what could be the problem. I tried resetting my router and modem to see if just a bug or something but to no avail.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a new Dlink DIR-655 router. My motivation was a router with a USB port. I initially purchased a DIR-632. I have 1 desktop without a wireless card so it connects to router thru ethernet cable. I have 2 personal laptops with wireless cards and 1 work computer also with wireless card. With the DIR-632 all computers would connect to router, but my work computer (Dell) would connect but then intermittenly show no internet connection. All other computers had no issues connecting to internet ( wired and wireless) The Dell would connect and have internet connection if I used a wired connection. After talking to DLink Tech support they said that i had an issue with the Dell. I called Dell and they walked me thru several things. Nothing worked. They ultimately sent in a tech who replaced wireless adapter and did a diagnosis before leaving and the Dell was deemed to be in perfect working order. I tried connecting again after Dell's repairs and same issue. DlinK Tech support then said the issue was with router and suggested replacing router. Went back to place of purchase and obtained the DIR-655. Got home and exactly the same issue. Again on the horn with Tech support and issue was determined to be bad router. Went back to place of purchase and got another DIR-655. Got home tried new router same issue. Spent in excess of 4 hrs on the phone with level 3 tech support. We tried many, many possible fixes and it appeared as if we had the problem fixed, but within a hour of hanging up with tech support the issue was unchanged.
As the Dell is a work computer I use it a multiple locations, some with no issues connecting wirelessly and one location the same issue as at my home (interestingly enough this location uses a DIR-655). At this 1 work location it says I'm connected, it says there is internet access, but I cannot do anything on the internet.(I can connect without issue with an ethernet connection) At my home location I can connect to the DIR-655 wirelessly, it initially shows internet access and I might be able to access a single webpage, but then it states no internet connection, but it is still connected to the DIR-655.
My initial DIR-615 and the Dell works perfectly fine. However that defeats the purpose of me buying the DIR-655. Ideally I want only the DIR-655 with all computers connecting thru it.
The ISP is a satellite connection. The modem is a Hughes HN9000. By spending 4 hours online with tech support we have changed the channel used, specified specific DNS locations, IP addresses, renewed DHCP, you name we have probably tried it.
The Dell for some reason just does not like the DIR-655, as it connects to the DIR-615 and 1 other work location router, but it will not connect at my home or other work locations (both DIR-655 routers).
My D-Link won't allow my laptop to connect to the Internet through an Ethernet connection. I set up the router using a standard Ethernet patch cable and cloned the laptop's MAC address to connect through the Mediacom modem. I then decided to test out the wireless and got that all set up, works perfect. Now I cannot connect to the Internet using the Ethernet cable.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried everything I can think of but since purchasing my 615-N router from DLink, I haven't been able to get online via wireless internet from another computer in this apartment. The router seems to be working fine - I have a LAN connection through it to this computer I'm on now and the PS3 hooked up to the wireless signal just fine. It is the one desktop computer though. The only thing I can think of is that I am using an old g adapter. I didn't think this would matter because the N router can supposedly communicate with g and b devices.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm desperately trying to set up my old D-Link DI-524 on my parent's Toshiba laptop...I'm visiting and going thru withdrawals! I've installed it, run the wizard etc but it doesn't work...not even wired. I've tried various cable configurations and I get nothing. Both cables are good and work just fine connected to the modem. I've reset it a few times, upgraded the firmware and still nothing...I'd think I'd at least get it to work hard wired. My laptop can see the network I set up even...but no data transmission. I'm not a wireless expert, but I need to become one fast!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a HP pavilion p6736f-b. It has wireless capability. It has wireless lan 802.11b/g/n. I know personal it can connect to the internet because I have done it before. Now when i try to connect to the internet it shows that no networks are available. This problems goes away when I use my wireless adapter and it can find my network name fine and I can connect to the internet. I want to be able to use my computer wireless without any usbs since it goes faster and I also use plenty of usb so I dont have the ability to always use a usb for my wireless adapter. I think the problem might be connected to me connecting my xbox 360 manually setting the ip address default gateway etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my old dell computer cannot connect to wireless internet, so it is connected to a Netgear internet bridge box. The other bridge box is in the basement where it is connect to the modem. I believe the location of the other box is almost directly below were my computer stand (and bridge box) used to be.I recently I moved it to different corner of my house that is about 15 feet further than the previous location. Now the wired internet speed is almost unbearable and inconsistent. The wireless speed is the same, but wired is really bad. I believe it is because the bridge boxes are further away from each other.I've tried unplugging and replugging, resetting, and etc.I would really like to know how I can fix this without moving the computer back since the furniture is in a really nice place and the computer would ruin the look.

It works well for the wireless connection but my Lan connection (wired connection) does not work. The Lan computer connects to the router but cannot access the internet. All of my machines work OK with a Netgear G router, including the Lan computer.

Ever since upgrading my firmware from 120426 to the latest(121225), one of my computer(windows xp, TP-link Nano) is frequently losing internet connectivity.I purchased the router a month ago and firmware 120426 was the version that came installed. The router would stop working about 3-4 times a week, requiring me to reboot it. Because of this I did some research online and found out about version 121225 which supposedly should improve performance and stability. After the firmware upgrade today I noticed that one of my computer is having a lot of trouble maintaining internet connectivity for more than 30 minutes. When checking wireless connectivity it would say that I am connected and that the signal strength is excellent. I'm also able to ping 8.8.8.8 but not www.google.com(I've tried ipconfig /flushdns and it doesn't solve the problem). I also have trouble accessing or pinging the router(192.168.0.1) with this computer.
I am unable to connect to the internet with my XP computer. I am running Apple Air Port as my router. The wireless network has an iMac, an IBM Think Pad(XP SP2)and a Dell XPS 410 (XP SP2). I am using WPA security and the Dell will not connect while the other two computers always connect. My wireless network is broadcasting, but when I try to connect after entering the proper key, it attempts to connect but appears to time out and displays the available wireless network. I tried reinstalling the drivers, but no success. Device Manager says the card is working and enabled.

The computer will say "Connected, No Internet Access" In order to fix it I have to unplug the router and then plug it back in. This happens to any computer that tries to get online from a cold start-up. The router must always be unplugged, then plugged back in, then it will have internet access (and will generally maintain it throughout the session and even if the computer is restarted, i.e. warm boot). I have downloaded the latest firmware uprade.

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo i have the Dir-615 and two laptops. Both laptops have windows 7, one with 32 bit and the other with 64 bit. I have had my network setup for months. The 32 bit laptop and my 360 are on the network; the 360 is on a wired connection. I recently purchased the 64 bit laptop and am having problems getting it to connect to the Internet. If I hard wire it in through the modem it will connect. If I try to connect to an unsecured network in my area, I can connect. But for some reason I'm unable to connect through my router. Weather I try and connect wireless or through a cable on the ports on the back. If I try and run the network connection wizard it won't fix the problem. I've tried to unplug the router, reconnect and nothing works. The weird part is that i can connect to the router, but can't access either the settings for the router or the Internet. The graphic that is shown in the network setup wizard shows my router but then shows an X in between the router and the Internet. I have tried everything that I can think of.

I have another computer plugged into my netgear box and it works perfectly fine. I checked and made sure everything was plugged in right and restarted my netgear thing but it did not work. There is no packets coming in or out of it connection but it recognizes that I at least have something plugged in.

I enabled it and set up the schedule but it does not cut off the internet. I went through create a new schedule and did that but again it still connects. View 1 Replies View RelatedWe currently have 1 PC and my laptop connected to the internet with 0 hassle. My father brought in his work computer last night and asked me if I could set it up. Only problem is I cannot for the life of me have it connect to the internet.
He has a PC with Win7, and when I search for a network it says there's no connections available. The PC is inches away from the modem. Also, our other two computers had no problem picking out the connection after a quick scan.
I started to lose hope when I ran an ethernet cable into the PC to see if I could get it to recognize the connection.
No luck. This is not a brand new computer, it's his work computer that before the move was operating just fine.
