View 1 RepliesI have cable broadband internet. My internet modem is a Ubee D3.0. It is connected to my Netgear N600 Wifi router which have my computer and DirecTV hooked up to it via ethernet. My wifi went down the other day. Devices were connected, but were not getting any internet service. In troubleshooting, I attempted to dial in to the router using www.routerlogin.net as well as 192.168.0.1, and I could not get into the router. I assumed the router must have crashed, and I only purchased it a month ago, so I took it back to the store and exchanged it for a new one. I got home and plugged it in, still not working. I can't access it using the above mentioned methods, and the setup software does not detect a router present. I unplugged the router and hooked the computer up directly to the internet modem. Still no luck. The computer does show a network connection in the system tray, but with no internet. I plugged my laptop in to the internet modem, and I am able to get internet just fine from my laptop. I even did a system restore to a restore point last week when I know the internet was working. No luck.

i load windows 7 onto it and try to get into internet explorer to get google chrome and it says that i need to configure a network so i try and configure one but it says that no networks are connected to it.i had vista on it before windows 7(still couldn't connect)and it said that it was a realtak router but underneath the router it says that it's netgear i don't know which one it is.i have gotten into the router using its ip.also the model for the netgear part is b90-755044-15 it work just fine for this computer although it's on windows XP do i need a driver for the mother board,router,or what.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter a quick power surge forced my desktop to reboot, it can't connect to my wireless network, even though everything else can. It may have been applying windows updates at the time of the surge.
Earlier today I shut down my computer to apply some windows updates. A few minutes after it rebooted a power surge knocked it out for an instant and the computer rebooted again. I don't know if it was done applying the updates but for some reason it can no longer connect to a wireless network. It keeps saying "unknown reason" when it fails to connect. I think I had a static IP attached to it.
My iPhone and iPad can still connect to this network, but this one computer can't. It's a desktop running Windows Vista Home Premium with a broadcom adapter added to it. It's too far away to connect to any wired connection. My router is a Netgear WGT624 v4.
I don't think I can post any IPconfig information here because I'm forced to type this on an iPhone.

I have set up the server (which runs windows server 2008) with an account called "communications" I have named the computer "communications". I go to the system and security>system: computer name,domain, workgroup settings>change settings. I enter all the information correctly, and it tells me it cannont find the network path. The computer will say "Connected, No Internet Access" In order to fix it I have to unplug the router and then plug it back in. This happens to any computer that tries to get online from a cold start-up. The router must always be unplugged, then plugged back in, then it will have internet access (and will generally maintain it throughout the session and even if the computer is restarted, i.e. warm boot). I have downloaded the latest firmware uprade.

It doesn't matter what internet it's connected to or how it's connected to the modem itself. I have had DSL and Cable hooked up to it and I am currently using it as a secondary router behind my roommates old Wireless B router. He currently has all of his things hooked up via ethernet and wirelessly to his router. So, im download the xirrus wifi inspector thing. It doesn't matter the OS either. I've had XP sp3, vista, and 7 all hooked to it and it's the same all the way around and it doesn't matter the kind of wireless card either!

I can connect to the local network, but not the internet. The laptop worked before we got the new router, and it works on another network. Our new router is a Netgear WNR-1000 v3. I have DSL Sprint modem that works fine when directly wired to either laptop. A friend gave me an old Netgear Wrt54g wireless router he had laying around so I could connect both laptops to the internet. I cannot do this wired or wireless. When I try wired the internet doesn't work. When I try to do it via wireless the new Windows 7 laptop says it isn't compatible. Any way to get this to work either way on both? Or do I need to pick up a new router. Also, I would prefer a wired connection so any recommendations for a wired router that will work with this setup.

Took all filters off phone lines and only have phone jack with router hooked up to it, so no interference is there. View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Netgear CGD24G Wireless Gateway and a Gateway MA8 laptop with after-market Windows 7 (Vista got a virus, went ahead and upgraded.)Now, when I download 100 MB files on my Xbox 360 (Which is wired to the modem) it will be downloaded in a couple minutes, or less. The other computers in my house (There are plenty, and even more that come and go.) get a blazing internet connection, and most of them are wireless.Now this computer, which had an extremely quick connection as well all of a sudden dropped off, while the rest of the computers remain fast.I've gone to Speedtest.net before and after this occurred and my speed before was around 12 mb/s, and one time around 4 AM was even upward of 25 mb/s, all of these tests were performed multiple times on different server locations. I JUST did the speedtest, and it came back with .4 mb/s, and the UL speed was 2.0. I honestly can't remember what I averaged with it prior to the problem, but it was definitely higher as well
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 3 computers wired to a Netgear R6300. Two of those computers (both running XP SP 3) I added new LAN Gigabit Cards (Tenda TEL9901G) . One recognized the card right away and had no issue connecting to the Internet (using this computer now). The other shows a 1.0 Gbps connection but I can not get any web pages to come up. I can access other computers and devices on the network without an issue on the computer that doesn't connect to the Internet.
If I type in the web address it says "Server Not Found." If I type in the IP address it will come up with the name of the site in the address bar but it still says "Server Not Found." I've tried several times to unplug the router and modem (Motorola Surfboard) and restart everything but the problem was still there. Also, I tried other Ethernet cables and no change. The LAN card drivers are up to date but I don't think the card is the issue since I swapped the new cards (to see if the card was the problem) and it does show a 1.0 Gbps connection. Also, tried uninstall/reinstall, disable/enable the card many times.I didn't change any setting in the router after installing the cards.Here is the ipconfig output:

So, in my office i have a jack with a cat5e cable that goes to my router. The issue is that the router's internet light won't turn on.We're on our third router and second brand so I'm pretty sure the router's aren't the problem. If i connect my computer to the same cat5 cable I get the internet without an issue. But, when i put my router in there, it gets nothing. Not even a yellow light.

I have noticed that when I plug the Ethernet cable from the router to the computer the led on the back of the computer panel does not blink as it does when I route directly from he cable modem.
I have a HP pavilion p6736f-b. It has wireless capability. It has wireless lan 802.11b/g/n. I know personal it can connect to the internet because I have done it before. Now when i try to connect to the internet it shows that no networks are available. This problems goes away when I use my wireless adapter and it can find my network name fine and I can connect to the internet. I want to be able to use my computer wireless without any usbs since it goes faster and I also use plenty of usb so I dont have the ability to always use a usb for my wireless adapter. I think the problem might be connected to me connecting my xbox 360 manually setting the ip address default gateway etc.
