D-Link DIR-615 :: IPv6 Marked Connected But Can't Have Real Connection

Oct 14, 2011

I have a d link dir 615 "ipv6 ready". My internet provider give tome a native ipv6 /48. I configure the router with my ipv6 /48 address the internal propagation of the address is good.

On the status ipv6 page all seems OK marked "connected" but I can't have an ipv6real connection and my provider say to me that i am not connected.

Is there a known problem of connection between an public /48 and the internal /64 and if so could it be corrected.

DNS Not Working IPV4 IPV6 Not Connected?

Jan 11, 2013

has quite frankly gotten me absolutely annoyed . I've tried just about everything, from using the netsh commands to changing the dns to 8.8.8.8 or that other one or the other. Nothing is working, I unplugged the router, problem persists, I disabled IPV6 problem persists, I restore, problem persists. The only clue I have is my router, and mysteriously, there are TWO of my computer on it. It might be nothing but most certainly has caught my attention. Also, it gives me this info about my media being disconnected

ICS Dependency Service Does Not Exist Or Has Been Marked For Deletion

Jan 16, 2012

Let me try to give as much info as I can to start. Running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate have all updates as of 01-16-2012. Recently had some malware that I removed not sure if there is a correlation. I am trying to connect my wireless connection on my pc to a router to run xbox and BD player. So I connect to my wireless network have my network card plugged into my router, connected to both networks. I go to properties on wireless connection click sharing tab check allow other network users to connect to the internet through this computer connection, also checked allow other network users to control or disable the shared internet connection. I click ok and get a error window that says in the title bar Network Connections the body of the window says, "An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion. I looked through services and device manager in non pnp drivers everything looks right to me... I am not super familiar with networking issues so I may have missed or overlooked something easily.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 6500 QoS COS Egress Not Marked

Feb 15, 2012

Problem: My traffic coming inbound appears to be marked but is not marked when egressing.

Setup:
Ingress from encoder G3/9->> Egress G8/1Default DSCP/COS map table (DSCP 24 is COS3)
Cos-dscp map:
cos:   0  1  2  3  4  5  6  7
------------------------------------
dscp:   0  8 16 24 32 40 48 56

1. Any reason COS 3 is not marked outbound on this traffic? I'm determining this by doing a wireshark off of interface g8/1. The traffic appears to be marked on the ingress correctly but does not maintain its mark on the egress. I can confirm this with equipment on other Ethernet links in produciton as well as my test port listed in the config below with wireshark.

FYI: Unfortunately with my cards in the 6509 I cannot port mirror and see outbound multicast (determined through a TAC case). Because the STB does not understand tagged traffic I setup the native vlan for it to function. To see the multicast with tags I temporarily remove the native command and do the wireshark to see the multicast. It still shows a COS setting of 0. I will try to attach a capture of a multicast packet.

interface GigabitEthernet3/9 description Mulicast Encoder

switchport access vlan 962
switchport mode access

D-Link DIR-655 :: FW 2.30NA - Way To Configure IPv6?

I'm still using 2.00NA.It seems that whenever I connect to a particular www3 webpage, my modem and router end up rebooting shortly thereafter.  This has happened a few times.  The modem's log shows in this order1. No Ranging Response received ,2. Unicast Ranging Received Abort Respone ,3. MIMO Event.I've tried to figure this out.  My search on the MIMO event revealed one post about IPv4 and IPv6.  This indicates to me that I should probably be upgrading the firmware and configuring its use for IPv6 compatibility.If I upgrade to FW 2.30NA, how should I configure the IPv6, i.e., which parameters should I use?

Cisco WAN :: 2911 - Large Uploads Incorrectly Marked As EDonkey Traffic

Feb 17, 2011

I ran into this recently with a client of mine.  When uploading files (either via FTP or through a shared drive in terminal services) from the site any files larger than 200MB or so would hang in the middle of the upload as the TCP session timed out because the traffic was cut off.  I started pulling apart the config on the 2911 edge router to determine what the issue was.

I trace the issue down to this particular policy which was created by CCP: sdmappfwp2p_CCP_LOW (When this policy was removed from the wan interface the issue vanished).  The default config of this policy was as follows:

policy-map sdmappfwp2p_CCP_LOW
class sdm_p2p_edonkey
drop
class sdm_p2p_gnutella
  drop
class sdm_p2p_kazaa
  drop
class sdm_p2p_bittorrent
  drop

I first removed the highlighted drop command from the edonkey class and reapplied the inspection policy to the WAN port and the issue remained resolved!

While this fixed the issue and I was able to block eDonkey traffic with just a simple outgoing ACL to block tcp port 4662 I find it very strange that a eDonkey inspection policy would cause such problems for eDonkey traffic.  I know for sure this is the only change made on the router and I'm just scratching my head at what I've found. Is it a bug with NBAR?  Mostly I'm just curious as the issue is already resolved.

D-Link DIR-615 :: Disable IPv6 Stateless Advertisement?

Sep 19, 2010

I've had my DIR-615 up for several months, and it's been faultless except for one thing. I have router in front of it and only use the 615 as a switch and AP. My main router provides IPv6 access through a 6to4, using radvd to broadcast to the rest of the network.

Whatever setting I set the 615 to for IPv6, it always sends out a default route. On rare occasion, it'll interfere with the correct route from my main router (whose router preference is set to high, instead of medium). Even in local-only mode, the 615 sends out a default route. It's an E1 with the 5.00NA firmware, which I believe is the latest.

I'd really like to disable the advertisements from the 615 altogether, while keeping L2 IPv6 support on the wireless and all. I picked this router explicitly because many routers don't work with IPv6 over WiFi, but it'd be nice to get it working perfectly. If there aren't any ways to do this, is there a place that I can download the source for the firmware?

D-Link DIR-615 :: Unable To Change IPv6 LAN Address To An IP

Jun 23, 2012

I am having a problem which I can't seem to find a way around.  I have a DIR-615 E3 that I'm unable to get IPv6 to work properly on.I'm connecting to IPv6 over PPPoE, and I'm unable to change the 'IPv6 LAN Address' to an IP my provider has given me.  They've provided a native address in the 2607:: range, however on the router it's stuck at a 6to4 IP which is NOT what they've given me (2002:CEF8:8B79:: IP).

I'm thinking of buying a new router that either has better IPv6 support, or one that supports OpenWRT and working my way through that.

Cisco Wireless :: WLC 2100 Ipv6 Ready Connection

Apr 30, 2012

We have a 2100 cisco Wireless LAN Controller which manages 3 APs and  assign IP address to clients which connects via wifi.  Currently, we are  deploying dual stack IPv6 and our consultant stated that our current  controller does not support IPv6.

This is rather odd statement because there is an option to enable IPv6  in the advance tab of WLAN.  And sometimes clients (win7 and Mac OS X)  are getting v6 addresses, able to ping v6 sites, and reach v6 sites  successfully.   And other times, clients do not..or getting the v6  address for 10-15minutes, then unable to ping/reach v6 sites.

Our consultant is sticking by his words saying it does not support.   If  this is true, then clients should not be able to get v6 at all....not  sometimes and not other times; very inconsistent.

And what is ipv6 pass through? What is ipv6 bridging?

D-Link DIR-825 :: IpV4 Versus IpV6 Implementation For Remote Access And VPN?

May 16, 2013

 I currently have ipV4 as the setting on my DIR-825.   Other posts seem to want ipV6 which is more secure but is not possible with a DIR-825 Rev A1.  I have two routers, a primary router (DIR-825 Rev B1) capable of ipV6 and a secondary router (DIR-825 Rev A1).  If I implement ipV6 on the Rev B1 router but keep ipV4 on the secondary router, will this improve the security, or will it just mess things up so nothing works?Certain devices (cell phones and most Tablets) don't deal with ipV6 very well at all.   The ones I have tested flat don't connect to the wireless network if the router is set at ipV6. Is ipV4 adequate for a Home/Small Business Network when trying to implement Remote Access and VPN?

D-Link DIR-825 :: Firmware 2.05NA - How To Get IPv6 In IPv4 Tunnel Working

Jun 9, 2011

I have a Dlink DIR-825 B1 with firmware 2.05NA.  I recently reset it to factory defaults to make sure I didn't misconfigure something.

I have been struggling to get a IPv6 in IPv4 tunnel working with tunnelbroker.net.  I think the issue is a problem with the router itself and i'm not sure how to get it fixed.

All of my machines were getting IPv6 addresses (both windows, mac, linux) but none of them seemed to work.  All I was able to do was ping the gateway itself using the local lan address.  In each case they were missing a default IPv6 route.  If I added a default route then it would work.

I started looking at the packets using a network sniffer and the Router Advertisements all had a Router lifetime value of "0" which is RFC4816 speak for "don't use this router as the default router".  So Windows/Linux is exactly right by not setting a default route.

The strange thing was that when I reboot the router I would briefly get a router advertisement with a lifetime of 1800s, the corrert prefix and dns server but then another router advertisement would come along 5 seconds later with a router advertisement of 0.

I have TCP' Other observations

... using 6to4 I would get working IPv6 address.  The difference again seemed to be the Router Lifetime.  But I want to use a permanent tunnel.  I have found 6to4 unreliable.

... the router never responds to router solicitations.  It only sends a router advertisement when it wants to.

... the router never responds to DHCPv6 when that is configured.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA4500 Prefix Delegation For Establishing An IPv6 Connection

Aug 30, 2012

My ISP (OTEnet, Greece) offers IPv6 connectivity in the form of dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 with the requirement that the router supports DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation for establishing an IPv6 connection.Using other routers (Cisco 887W, DrayTek Vigor2130n), I have established an IPv4/IPv6 connection but I am unable to do so with the EA4500. As a matter of fact, when I have the "IPv6 - Automatic" option enabled the router not only cannot obtain an IPv6 prefix from the ISP but it gets stuck in the connection attempt and never obtains an IPv4 or an IPv6 address. I have to disable the IPv6 option in order to simply establish an IPv4-only connection without problems.So, my questions are:

1. Does the latest (2.1.38.38880) firmware support dual-stack IPv6 and DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation?

2. If the router cannot negotiate an IPv6 connection why is it not establishing an IPv4 connection only but gets stuck in the process?
