View 4 RepliesBasically I have a group of static public IPs and I need one of them to point to an internal server IP address. This is for the RVS4000 router.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAny example, tested on 3750-24/48TS and 3750G-24TS to remove the fan to make the switch more silent. I'm not interested in replies telling that is risky, I'm interested to know how is the switch acting. Has shutdown at overheating? I will use the switches only for my CCIE studies, a couple of hours per day, no heavy load.
I tested with 2950 switches are there were absolutely no problems, the devices were even in production.
No Matter what I use-admin/new user or group I assign... CAN NOT login from the outside IP!I can see it/map it and access it all day from my network, no problem. I get at 530 login error everytime I try to come in from the outer world. I have a static IP and cannot get in. It will prompt me for user name and password so I know it is responding to my query. I need to get this fixed ASAP!
View 8 Replies View RelatedI already have a DIR-855 and was considering using a DAP-1522 in conjunction to bridge my 5GHz N to my living room to feed HD media to my PVR box and also feed wired-only clients like my TV and BR player. But, in my new flat I find that the walls are pretty thick and my wifi signal is dropping off pretty quick, so I was wondering if you can configure the DAP-1522 to simultaneously be a wifi bridge to feed my media clients, and an AP to feed any laptops that might be in use in the living room?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe DIR-655 has a square button on the side of it. It looks like a refresh button. I don't know what it does, but I have pressed that button before, thinking it does something good. Nothing bad has happened after I pressed it , but I have no clue about what is does.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen can we have an upgrade to include 'Lookback' function for Virtual Server ? I understand both Build-120802 and Build-120926 does not support this Loopback feature. Without the loopback feature, we won't be able to test out Dynamic DNS URL is working or otherwise on local PC.

I'm can't connect to the router print server using my Linux OS (tested on Ubuntu and openSUSE). I'm try connect by using upnp at port 1900. There are no official (native) application and any tech specification, that I'm can use. how to connect to the print server. Under Windows print server works correctly.
I found intermittent link down(20~40 seconds average) occurred about 1~10 times every month. SAP reported a lot of active connections are disconnected and I used a batch to ping and found "requested time out" about 30 seconds.And Windows, SQL server, Nexus 5010 do not show any errors. We run cluster and cluster does not fail over.And I don't know which cables or nics cause this issue. When it happened, almost all servers are unreachable. For example, SQL server 1 -> SQL server 2, IBM HS22-1 -> SQL server 1. However, some connections are not dropped sometimes. It varies each time.PS: I run this topology last year without any problems but it started intermittent link down from 2011/1/7. Because there is no errors in Nexus 5010, it is difficult to troubleshoot. Cisco TAC recommended us to implement virtual port channel yesterday. Could I use "errdisable detect cause" to detect what caused the intermittent link down? Is there any error logs or switch parameters/status can use to troubleshoot?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a client that is using a DIR-655 router. He uses Cisco VPN to access his work PC. At first, the only way we could get this to work was by skipping the router and plugging directly in to the modem. This is not ideal - so after receiving no response here to this question - I did the following - I put his PC (by IP) in a DMZ. This has done the trick - but will only work until the next time his IP address changes.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have set up DHCP reservations to assigned IP addresses based on MAC address. I have to block my kids access at times, and when I do this they simply change their IP address and they circumvent the blocking.Other than punishing the kids (which hasn't worked - and they need computers and Internet for homework), is there anyway to lock a computer to MAC address to IP address so if they change it they won't get network/internet access?I also tried to set up network filtering and I put in all the PCs and devices I wanted to provide access for, including the router, but when I save changes I can no longer access the internet or the router. I have to do factory reset to get back into router config.Also, I'm on 1.30WW. I know 1.34 exists, which I tried on a previous router which died and was replaced by RMA; but this didn't solve any problems.

I'm a court reporter trying to set up a connection between my laptop and my court reporting machine, which has built in wifi capabilities. My court house has public wifi but there is always some interference which causes transmission between my laptop and machine to freeze. I was told I could create my "own wifi" between my machine and laptop if i bought a router. is this possible with this hardware?I don't need the internet or want an internet connection. I have the internal modem in my laptop. I just want to provide a connection between my laptop and writing machine wirelessly. That is, data being sent back and forth between the two. (Like your headset and smartphone connected with Buetooth). I can use the Bluetooth method to connect the two, but I opted for wireless connection because Bluetooth still can have some interference when attorneys come in the courthouse building with a Blackberry smartphone. I heard this router will provide a secured, private wifi connection between my laptop and machine.It doesn't say anywhere in the instructions that how to do this or I just don't know which method to use this router for what I want to do. Is it WISP, AP or BRIDGE, etc...?
i just happened to have a spare DIR 601 and I already installed DDWRT on it. Now my question is can make this as a wireless bridge or repeater? with only using the signal of my DIR 655 router upstairs?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy router just dropped the internet. I checked with ISP and confirmed that their modem is fine - I can connect direct into that - but the DIR-655 won't connect externally. I've tried wireless and wired and can connect fine to the router, but it is like the firewall has reset itself or something. at the moment I'm surviving because of a 30m long ethernet cable to the modem going out the window and round the house!

I am trying to make my computer support incoming VPN connections. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium on the computer I want to make the connection on.I am also using Verizon FioS internet (comes with default router/modem combo) to which I have the DIR-655 router connected. I am able to connect to both WiFi's fine and they work correctly.I think the Verizon router is set to block incoming VPN connections and I think this is why I cannot get anyone to be able to access my computer / internet via VPN. How I can perhaps forward ports and which settings I would need to specifically change in both routers admin settings so that I can get VPN connections to forward to my computer and be accepted.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just had to get rid of a bad DIR-825 that I replaced a trusty old DIR-655 with and now I'm back. Anyhow, I can't seem to make the DDNS setting stick in the router. View 8 Replies View RelatedHave a Rev. B1 w/207NA on Time Warner with a Moto Surfboard SB5150.Working with TiVo's, we've been through hell and back trying to resolve why Multi Room Viewing doesn't seem to want to work - but only one way! The newest TiVo's their Premiere model with HD and all the bells and whistles, it sees the other TiVo and all the other software that can send programs back and forth with it.
I brought on a Series 2, which is an older model that's non HD and has some older software in it. While the Premiere and the other PC's/Software around the building's network can 'see' the Series 2 and it can 'see' the other shared PC's, etc. the thing can't 'see' the Premiere.This has been going on for awhile, I've worked with TiVo Support also to unlock ports, IP addresses and anything else we could think of. Still no luck. Then we had a strange occurance!
The DIR-655 seemed to 'lock up' or disconnect from the Net. One day I was surfing the Now Playing menu in the Series 2 and the other TiVo wasn't showing as usual. I checked it again during a commercial for something totally different and suddenly noticed there it was!! I thought it was weird, so I went out front to check with the person using the main TiVo if they had made any changes or done anything - they hadn't, but did mention their Net connection was gone.
I turned around and looked at the 655's status lights and noticed while all the rest were fine - the WAN/Net status light was totally out. Not a single blink. And then I looked at the Moto cable modem and noticed it's 'activity' light was also totally dormant. I twisted the Moto to get a better look at it and things started working again, I tightened the cable modem cable on the rear and that was it.
From that point on - once again, the front TiVo won't show on the back TiVo! Does every other way, but not that. In our discussions on TiVo we thought it could've been the cable modem firewall or something, but I retested it and this time it had NO effect. Tried not only taking out the cable-cable but the Ethernet cable as well to ensure all were tested. Still didn't now up. What I thought was going on was the 655 had turned into a giant 'Hub', which would've caused the TiVo's to use their old-fashioned Beacon software to 'find' each other. When the 655 software kicked back in from that glitch, the hub setup would've obviously stopped and the 655's software settings would've kicked back in.
I have a complete list of the ports internally that need to be open for those two TiVo's to communicate, but I can't find anything in the 2.07NA GUI (or Help manuals) that tell me how to write a rule to open those ports internally. I wouldn't think there's any internal blocking or firewalling going on (I have it set to allow communications between clients on the internal Net) but there's so many settings in this GUI it makes your head spin!
unable to open 192.168.1.1 in google chrome but can access other net work.

Is there any chance to make work HUAWEI E303C with MR3040?I know this model is not in the compatibility list, but when I try connect this modem with the router, it can be identified but it cant be connected. On the logs it appears that there is a problem with dial, APN, but I'm sure I'm introducing the correct values?
I have IIS running in a machine inside my network and I would like to make is visible to the world wide web.To do that, I created a website in the port 8787, which is accessible when the user types 192.168.0.126:8787 in the browser. Of course it works only when the user is inside my network.(IIS running over windows server 2008 OS)Now I want to make it visible to the WWW, so I created a rule to make a port forwarding to it:I went to: Advanced > Virtual Servers and created a rule with the given information:
enabled
Name: website
private ip: 192.168.0.126
protocol: both
private port: 8787
public port: 8787
Schedule: always
This rule created automatically a firewall rule
Enabled
Alow
Source: WAN *
Destination: LAN 192.168.0.126 Protocol: * Port range:8787
always
Unfortunately it isn't enough, if I type myPublicIp:8787 I can't access the website because I either get "connection reset" error or a timeout.I pluged my computer directly in my modem and it worked perfectly.To make a test, I tried to enable the router remote administration on the port 10001. It didn't work.ps: my wireless router is a dlink di-524, I am writing this in this forum because I couldn't find the one related to my router...
I purchased a wireless bridge D-Link DAP-1522 (IP fix 192.168.0.50) to share the Internet connection to two remote devices: WD TV Live HD (IP fix 192.168.0.52) and a Samsung BD P2500 player (IP fix 192.168.0.51: to try the BD-Live) but when I plug it into my network I have an IP conflict and I can not navigate anywhere, even by the computer which control the Netgear router (IP 192.168.0.1 DHCP range 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.49).
I tried with all fixed IP (192.168.0.xxx Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Gateway 192.168.0.1 DNS 192.168.0.1), but nothing to do, I have the same problem: after a few minutes after plugged the network cable into BD player the network falls.With wired connection (10 m of patch cable!!!) Samsung BD P2500 have no problem (DHCP and IP fix).
Then look closely in the information relating to devices connected to the Netgear router I noticed that all devices connected through the bridge DAP-1522 have the different IP but same MAC address and I think this could be the cause of the problem that creates the Blu Ray when it's connected to the network through the bridge, because he is not identified with any name but only as UNKNOWN as the bridge (a problem that WD Live not seen: same MAC address but is identified by name as WDTVLIVE).
How can I make the MAC addresses from the bridge will be recognized separately from my router/modem Netgear?In the settings of the bridge I noticed that you can enable or disable MAC address cloning, but if the off I would expect that cloning was not done and instead all the devices are identified by the Netgear router with the MAC address of the access bridge.The DAP-1522 masked the MAC address of device that are plugged into bridge.The router has the latest available firm while the original bridge has version 1.20 (the penultimate version available).
Lately, Ive been trying to change my router DNS to OpenDNS. Somehow, after changing it, I couldnt access the router page at 192.168.0.1, getting the error 500 message. I unplugged and plugged the router with no effect. Im using a dlinkddns.com dynamic IP, and have a few ports forwarded for my DVR. The router model is DIR 615. want to change the DNs for speed and filtering purposes.
