D-Link DIR-655 :: WAN Interface Cable Has Been Disconnected
Jan 8, 2009
The setup:
Time Warner Cable Internet Dynamic IP
DIR-655 A3 Firmware 1.21
3 hard wired, fully updated, virus free, windows xp pro machines
The Issue:When only one PC is running or actively being used there is no issue. However, when there is moderate internet usage on a second pc the internet connection will drop (the WAN light on the router stays on as does the ethernet light on the modem) and give this pair of log entries.
I am on a LAN that works just fine.I recently got something called a TMobile Rocket. It is a USB wireless broadband adapter that people most commonly use with laptops at remote locations to access the internet.
There are settings in the TMobile connection manager that are supposed to "allow simultaneous connections", which are set correctly. That is what is not working correctly. If I connect my cable to my LAN, the TMobile connection manager says it is still connected; but, it will not allow any throughput.Throughput is immediately restored as soon as the LAN cable is disconnected.
TMobile says this problem is due to a setting in my computer that is overriding the TMobile connection.
I am using WAG120N, and it keeps disconnected from internet randomly, normally between 5-10 minutes. The thing is, when it is disconnected, the adsl lamp is still on, so I think that it is not the network problem. When internet lamp turns off , I try to turn off the device (or unplug the phone cable), then turn it on again (or re-plug the cable), and it will work for certain minutes, then gets disconnected again. I already upgraded the firmware to v 1.00.12.
I have LinkSys WAG160N V2 with the last firmware 2.00.20 I have very annoying issue, the Gateway always disconnected from time to time .. Some days it work so fine and some days it disconnect 20 times per day and I have every time to go Status >> Gateway and press connect , another weird thing is that sometimes it gaves me speed 3784 Kbps and sometimes 3500 Kbps , sometimes it gaves me the right speed 4700 Kbps i did think maybe it's my ISP problem , but after the upgrade the problem gone for 3 weeks then it back again, and when it back I did make factory reset and reconfigure it again regarding my ISP settings and it did work fine with 3784 Kbps speed and it should be 4700 Kbps.
Using a 3G USB Modem (Huwaei E153) the mobile network status is connected however the Wan Interface (AutoConfiguration -DHCP) is displayed as Disconnected (Physical layer disconnected).
I bought a WAG160N ADSL2+, I configured it and all the computers can connect to it with wireless. But the problem is sometimes the connection between the wireless adapter and the router will disconnect and I'm not able to connect again (the computer screen in de bottom right corner has a red cross in front of it if you know what I mean). It can take hours before it will be able to connect again. The only way to have the connection back up is to turn off/on the WAG160N. This happens mostly on my machine (windows XP Dlink Dwa-131 adapter and with the adapter that came with the WAG160N) and afterwards on the other machines. Its like the router doesn't want me to connect anymore.
ATTACHED: My current running config with sensitive info taken out.
I have a Cisco 881 Router connected to cable modem. The router is running IOS 15.1.
I have it configured exactly the same way as an 877 router running IOS 12.1 which does not exhibit the problem. Just a standard LAN/WAN config with basic routing/firewall.
When the internet connection is lost for any reason and then re-established the router will no longer pass internet traffic unless I reboot the router.
I used Cisco Configuration Professional to configure the router. The key setting seems to be the Router Static Route. We have a static IP and I set static route with the "make this the default route" checked. Then I set forward (next hop) to the IP my ISP gave me as their gateway.
This is exactly the same way I set the 877 router using the same ISP but in a different office.
Every so often the internet is lost due to power outage or the ISP doing something on their end and every time that happens we have to reboot the router which is quite annoying.
I did not have the "permanent route" check mark checked but I do not have it checked on the router that does not have the problem either so I don't think that's it.
When I set the static route to "interface" then added the static IP of the next hop it will continue to work for incoming connections but not outgoing.
I owe a SG200 26 port switch and it works fine so far.Amacintosh computer (mountain lion) has been added to the wired net. Everything works fine t first, but there's a sudden disconnection issue. It seems that the macintosh computer is not able to communicate to the switch, and the macintosh prompts a lack of cable connection. None of the lights on the switch are on.If I plug the macintosh cable directly to a router ethernet port, it works properly.
This has been happening for about the last two weeks now. Before we never had any problems. So now all wireless devices keep on getting disconnected almost daily.
I have a laptop, 2 Iphones, an Xbox 360, and a Xoom Tablet that keep getting disconnected. The Desktop, which is directly connected to the router via a cable is fine and never gets dropped.
I tried changing channels, and wireless mode is now G only. Still keep getting dropped.
I tried to set my x3000 (firmware 1.0.03) to wake up on internet my pc. This is my configuration:IP lan 192.168.1.10 (fixed on pc and reserved in DHCP)Firewall: forward port 9 from WAN to LAN IP.I can't set broadcast IP (192.168. 1. 255) from web interface.I also tried this solutions but without success: url...
I am using the x3000 as a modem and router, and I managed to set up the device yesterday through the web interface (192.168.1.1).However, after less than 24 hours of continuous usage, I cannot access the interface for some odd reason. I tried using the disk that came with the device but the software reports as if I am not connected to the router. I tried pinging 192.168.1.1 and I get >1 ms so that confirms the device is active and responsive.
My WAG320N has developed a fault where by after 1, 2, maybe 3 clicks on the web interface and the router reboots. The browser can no longer connect until it is closed and reopened (firefox). Firmware is: v1.00.12
Interestingly, if I use a different browser it doesn't seem to reboot and I can click away for ever. However, firefox reproduces the problem every time. FIrefox version is 7.0.1
I have an WAG120N that works just fine except the IPTV.I don't see any options where I can enable the IGMP on the WAN interface (DSL).In the routing table I see a route 239.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 gw 0.0.0.0 that is only for LAN interface.how to enable the IGMP on the WAN interface.
when I connect my DIR-655 to the Motorola SB6141 cable modem I notice that the link speed LED on the cable modem never glows blue indicating a gigabit connection, it only glows amber indicating a lower negotiated speed. I am using a Cat6 cable between the two devices and have also tried a Cat5e cable.
When I try and force the WAN port speed to 1000Mpbs in the router interface the cable modem link speed will not light at all with no connectivity. Only resetting to Auto WAN port speed restores functionality albeit at the lower negotiated speed setting.
I'm running the DIR-655 rev B1 at 2.03NA firmware level.
I did connect the modem directly to my PC that uses an Intel Gigabit ethernet card and still had the lower connection indication (Amber) so it seems that the modem might be faulty.
i can't access to the router interface page at 192.168.0.1 and not from ddns account. but the internet connection working good, and i'm downloading a lot of torrents in background. i just want to check something on the router and can't access to it, until i disconnect from the power adapter and restart it. maybe he's overloaded or something? how to solve this issue?
When I log in to my router (192.168.1.1) refuses to communicate with me in IE8 or Chrome. It seems to work 'OK' with Firefox (not as smooth as it used to up until couple of weeks ago, but still works).I am getting either no response when I click on specific links under STATUS, or a very slow one. I also get no details at all.For example - I click on Wireless where you can see 'Wireless clients that are connected' and nothing appears even though there are at least 5 devices that are currently connected.
Well, I've been using my DGL 4300 as a switch, but now I need to use the wireless capabilities it has. I tried going to 192.168.0.1 but it timed out. I pushed down the reset button in the back and hold it for 15 seconds, tried the IP again and nothing but timeout. I unplugged the power cable, held down the reset for 15 seconds, plugged back the power, and still nothing. I've tried various methods, various IP's, and nothing.
After my dir-655 recently bought the farm, I picked up a NIB 601 at a local computer mall for about $20. The drawback is that "local" for me means that the router is in Chinese.
Is there any way for the web interface language to be changed to English?
After uploading dir-615 dd-wrt firmware, it did not lead me to the new page so I unplug it after 5 minutes and replug it. I tried 192.168.0.1 but it seem nothing came out. Then I found that there is no gateway ip address shown up when I use command prompt to search for the gateway ip address. what does that mean? did I clear the software in it?
Bought a new DIR-655 Rev B a few weeks ago. It's web admin interface has failed in some way. The device is still passing all user traffic in both directions, but attempts to connect to the admin interface with my web browser, from both the wired inside and the WAN outside fail. I can telnet to the actual tcp port number that it's configured for and establish a connection, but I can't get any response from it. At this point I'm expecting the only way I'm going to clear the condition is to power cycle the device when I get home from work. It is to note I have the device configured for https for the admin interface. Perhaps that's the more 'advanced' feature that's newer and is exhibiting some kind of bug, I wonder. I'm running the latest firmware available from D-Link.
My DSC-930L's web interface becomes unresponsive about an hour or two after power cycling my camera. It still responds to pings, and it still sends images to FTP when it detects motion, but I can't log into it via web interface, mydlink, or the iphone app. Power cycling the camera fixes the problem for an hour or so but then its right back to not working again.
owner of a new B1 here. I've seen various recommendations for 2.03 as a firmware, as mine came with 2.04. Why is this recommended? Is there any others that are recommended?Additionally, after connecting up to the router via ethernet (192.168.0.1), the control mechanism for the router is rather slow. I've owned many routers, and this might be the slowest administration/settings page i've seen for a router. Is this normal?
Months ago i can enter in the camera interface by using 192.168.1.100 , its correct ip to enter in the cammera ? Now i dont know what is happening i connect the ethernet cable correctly from PC to the camera and i type in the browser : 192.168.1.100 but nothiung happen ?
We are having 7600 with POS interface to connect with an STM-4 link, we are planning to upgrade our link capacity to 1 Gig. Can we do so with our existing inventory or we need any other hardware(WIC)? [code]
I have a new router. this seems to be a very simple problem relating to the most basic configuration options.
Hardware Version: A1 Firmware Version : 1.01NA go to SETUP -> "NETWORK SETTINGS" change "Router IP Address" to 192.168.73.1 change "DHCP IP Address Range" to: 192.168.73.10 : 192.168.73.200
Save Changes Wait for reboot. change my client system's local IP address... so that I can reconnect. direct web browser to http://192.168.73.1/
seen: login page has a select-box for a userid, but no text inside. there is no prompt to ask me to login. I press enter (or whatever... I login). every form interface on all web pages looked at have no labels on text boxes.
I did a view source... and used web-dev tools to look at the page. it looks like the apparent js function, show_words(), is not defined.
change ip address and dhcp address range back to default save changes. wait for reboot. reverse changes to local system things are back to normal. login page has useful text. after logging in, there is something to read.
looking at source again. I see, now, that the js function "show_words" is defined in a file called public.js.
On our ASA 5510 we already have one ISP link terminated on outside interface. There is correspoinding nat and global configured for outbound access to internet.
Now we need to terminate second ISP link on one of the DMZ interface to have redundancy for the primary ISP.
When primary ISP link or router is down we need to send all the traffic to secondary ISP router. How do we configure NAT and global for this condition that only when primary is down then only this NAT -Global should be used. Do we have anything like object tracking associated with the NAT-global.
So that as long as Primary RTR - object is up ASA will use the first NAT-Global pair. When primary ISP is down RTR-Object is not reachable then ASA will perform the second NAT-Global operation.
Also can we have default route pointing to Outside interface (primary ISP router) and in case of primary router failure it will point to secondary ISP. Do we have "track" in the static route commands on ASA.
