After uploading dir-615 dd-wrt firmware, it did not lead me to the new page so I unplug it after 5 minutes and replug it. I tried 192.168.0.1 but it seem nothing came out. Then I found that there is no gateway ip address shown up when I use command prompt to search for the gateway ip address. what does that mean? did I clear the software in it?

It's a belkin N router that worked for the first few days but now we can't access the Internet wirelessly if we shut the laptop down and reboot. Belkin talked me through every possible way to connect to AUI but no joy. Even tried using firefox, which worked once but we then lost connection again. Getting frustrated now. May take router back to the shop as it's only ten days old.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi just bought a Netgear WNDR4000 router due to troubles with my current modem/router combo (D-Link DSL2730-B). The router doesnt have in built modem functionality obviously so I need to set up the modem/router as a dedicated modem.Also should I use the current modem/router as the dedicated modem or an older model i own (I think its a DSL 502T)? Because the current one often drops the internet connection. Don't know if its a problem with the modem functionality or something else. Will the older one serve better since i didn't have any problems with that one or will it be outdated? I only upgraded due it not having wireless capabilities. Otherwise it's fine.Or will I be even better off buying a dedicated modem? I really don't want to spend more money but if this is a far better alternative I guess i will.
EDIT: Ok so found out that I have to put the modem/router in bridge mode in order for this to be possible. However, looking up how to do this lead me to a dead end because i need to fill in some fields that i have no idea how to interpret.

We have a Cisco 3825 router which does not work well with a DSL modem(ISP provided). I have configured the Gi0/0 port of the router to plug into this DSL modem but it does not ping to the ISP gateway. If we do a shut/no shut on the interface then it work fine for about 30 secs. Sometimes even for 1 hr. Then the packets drop and we cannot pass any traffic through this interface.Now, if the ISP connection is terminated on a computer it works fine. It works fine without dropping any packet. I have tried various options like using a straight/cross cable. I have tried to configure the interface negotiation for 100/full, 100/half, auto/auto and almost all the options. I have also tried to interconnect the devices using a L2 device like a HUB. Nothing works.

View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing Cisco 1811W with IOS 15.1(4)M5. FE0 and FE1 are connected to the internet via Billion ADSL2+ modems operating in bridged mode. Both lines are similar so I'll only discuss FE0 from this point on.Local subnet is 192.168.128.0/24 with router on 192.168.128.1 as default gateway. Modem on FE0 has static LAN IP of 192.168.128.2 and when plugged into the switch on the LAN side, the web interface can be accessed at that IP address. Unplug the modem from the switch and plug it into FE0 and it now works as desired providing access from the router to the internet but the web interface is no longer accessable at 192.168.128.2
I tried adding a static route "ip route 192.168.128.2 255.255.255.255 FastEthernet 0" and also "ip route 192.168.128.2 255.255.255.255 Dialer 1" Neither worked and presumably it isn't that straight forward. Possibly NAT or other routing configuration required.Although there isn't much to configure when in bridged mode, I mostly want this setup so I can look at the ADSL connection status and for the modem to write messages to syslog (works when plugged into switch on LAN side), or SNMP access.
when I connect my DIR-655 to the Motorola SB6141 cable modem I notice that the link speed LED on the cable modem never glows blue indicating a gigabit connection, it only glows amber indicating a lower negotiated speed. I am using a Cat6 cable between the two devices and have also tried a Cat5e cable.
When I try and force the WAN port speed to 1000Mpbs in the router interface the cable modem link speed will not light at all with no connectivity. Only resetting to Auto WAN port speed restores functionality albeit at the lower negotiated speed setting.
I'm running the DIR-655 rev B1 at 2.03NA firmware level.
I did connect the modem directly to my PC that uses an Intel Gigabit ethernet card and still had the lower connection indication (Amber) so it seems that the modem might be faulty.
The firmware update went smoothly The mydlink service quit accessing the camera, until I download and ran the updated Mac version of the "mydlink Setup Utility v1.0.06_07272011"Seems as if the camera is more stable; ping times are more consistently low.

I can view numerous other PDF files from other websites, and even PDF files from TP-LINK, but, the User Guide for the TL-WDR3600 or the 3500 error out when opening in a web browser. If I right click and download them, they will download but then error out on opening.

I click on the link, fill out the form and click on 'modify user' (The set-up guide has a button there for 'save settings') and nothing gets created. I tried this several times and there are no new groups or users. I checked the storage.info file and there is no additional users or groups there either. I think I can edit that file but I'm not too sure what these last 2 lines mean

DIR-825 2.03NA - The web interface has a ridiculously low timeout value. 60 seconds maybe?
I can't build a list of MAC addresses, e.g., before it reaches the timeout. I try to save.... and I have to log back in. And my changes are gone.
What's maddening is that it WAS working the way I wanted, with seemingly no timeout, until recently when I had to basically re-do my network.

The Issue:When only one PC is running or actively being used there is no issue. However, when there is moderate internet usage on a second pc the internet connection will drop (the WAN light on the router stays on as does the ethernet light on the modem) and give this pair of log entries.
Bought a new DIR-655 Rev B a few weeks ago.It's web admin interface has failed in some way. The device is still passing all user traffic in both directions, but attempts to connect to the admin interface with my web browser, from both the wired inside and the WAN outside fail. I can telnet to the actual tcp port number that it's configured for and establish a connection, but I can't get any response from it. At this point I'm expecting the only way I'm going to clear the condition is to power cycle the device when I get home from work. It is to note I have the device configured for https for the admin interface. Perhaps that's the more 'advanced' feature that's newer and is exhibiting some kind of bug, I wonder. I'm running the latest firmware available from D-Link.

It still responds to pings, and it still sends images to FTP when it detects motion, but I can't log into it via web interface, mydlink, or the iphone app. Power cycling the camera fixes the problem for an hour or so but then its right back to not working again.
