I got the DIR-835 today and have been spending hours trying to get it to work right. Everything works well except I cannot for the life of me get this router to let me stream youtube properly anymore.
I am using Tenda WiFi Router Model no W316R. It is working fine for my Laptop also on Nokia C3-00 cell phone.Problem is that when i click on Youtube Videos on Cell phone, media player shows an error "No Responce" after few seconds. I showed my phone to company outlet they said that configure your Router properly for Streming on Cell phone
And I can't seem to access Google and Youtube on my iPad, even Yahoo doesn't work. It all started when I updated my DIR-655 to the newest firmware 2.07NA because I wanted to have an Open NAT for my PS3 because it was set on Strict and I wasn't able to fix it other than updating my router. Now, Youtube works, but I can't play any videos, it's keep in a infinite loop. And I can't access some sites, such as Google, Youtube Facebook and Yahoo, on my iPad, it just won't load.
I just don't know what to do, I'm not really a crack when it comes to router, I don't know jack about my router to be honest, I know how to set the Wi-Fi, forward ports but that's basically all. It seems that it is a firewall problem, but I don't even know how my firewall settings works! UDP and TCP are set on Endpoint Independent but putting them into default doesn't do much, well it does nothing.
it is starting to get ridiculous, the DIR-655 is full of problems! My connections was always jumping, IP Conflict but now it's fixed, Flash videos wasn't able to run outside Youtube
Roar Runner internet provider 18Mbit/sec from Kingston, NY to NY,NY cable modem is an ARRIS BD370 connect to router via Ethernet cable.Dell XPS Quad core Vista connected to router via Ethernet cable. Have hooked BD-370 directly to cable modem and works perfectly.Streaming movie is only successful about 1 in 6 times. [code]
Recently replace my DIR-615 (it died after about 3 years of steady use) with the 825.Followed CD setup wizard, adjusted some manual thing as well. Am experiencing slow streaming speeds on various websites. A lot of 'loading' pauses within a youtube video for example when I never used to have any stutter at all on my old router. On a cable internet connection with a standard cable modem (no router in it).DIR-825 FW: 2.06NA HW: B1.Wired connection to router, not trying to steam over wireless.Speed tested at 14Mbps down which is what my provider (cogeco cable) promises.
I am about to buy a NMP (WD Live Hub) to put my local video/music/pic content on and drive many TVs in my house. These NMP also have services like Hulu, NetFlix, etc. I plan to sign-up for NetFlix and do the unlimited streaming thing via the WD Hub. I have a 5Mbps broadband pipe which is right at the suggested level for HD streams.....but I think the DIR-655 can prioritize streams/video ?
plan to put the Hub on Static (Reserved) IP address on my network....however, I've never messed with a Router and prioritization. I assume it is something to do with the port(s) used, etc. I have no idea the ports that will be used by the Hub for NetFlix, how/where in the DIR-655 I can accomplish this how to ID the ports used would be great....eg. some variant of Netstat command, etc ?
i've lost the ability to view live streaming video (adobe flash, i think) on several websites. it happened gradually over several weeks and now videos will not load. the dir-615 has functioned flawlessly over several years but it might be showing its age now. connecting directly to my com cast broadband modem fixes the problem. can i tweak the router settings or do i need to replace it?
my setup: dir-615, H/W Ver. E1, F/W Ver. 5.00NA, two wired connections to X Box's and one to Win 7 PC. wireless connections to several Win 7 laptops and other tablets/phones. com cast high speed broadband with their Norton security suite.
if replace.....i need a recommendation. the best bang for a buck while staying within a tight budget.
I have 3 DCS-932L connected to DviewCAM 3.3 Device pack 1.4.2. When I open the DviewCAM main console I have picture. When I activate network service (live streaming) options under port: 8080 and webserver port: 801, it allows a visual of the DviewCAM GUI but no live streaming over the internet. [code]

I was using dsl connected to pc with ethernet cable, on line streaming movies were fine, now with TP LINK ADSL2+MODEM ROUTER streaming has become very very slow using wireless, signal is excellent, web surfing is fine, do I need to change setting to improve streaming?
I have a DIR-655 that's wired via 40' of Cat5 Ethernet cable to a bus near my Sony HDTV. I get great reception and speed and all the available HD channels via my Time Warner Cable subscription.
My problem is that since subscribing to NetFlix (streaming only) when I stream a NetFlix movie I get "reloading/pauses" every few minutes. NetFlix says it requires 1.5 Mbps but Internet speed tests show I'm consistently getting between 5 and 10 Mbps.
I also have a Sony 3D DVD Player that is NetFlix enabled and when the pausing gets too bad I switch to it and sometimes it works, at other times it pauses just as frequently as the TV.
I always turn the PC off when watching TV.

Everything is set up in the router software. The tuner detects the USB drive as a UPnP device, shows the directories I've set up for media share. If I select an AAC or FLAC file to play, the tuner loads it and plays. If I select an MP3 file, it loads, shows it as 100% buffered -- and hangs. Every time. The other devices on the router's network (wired desktop, wireless laptop, wireless tablet) can load and play the MP3s along with the other file types from the same USB-connected drive. That's why I figure the router isn't causing the problem.
I am having wireless connection/internet issues that are irritating me to the core!!! I have called tech support 4 times now, and I still can't get everything to play nice...I have the 655 set up as a wireless router to a Windows 7 laptop, one iPad, two iTouches, and one N3DS. I can't find a setting that will work with all devices. Here are the senarios...
1) Settings: Wireless enabled, 802.11n only, Auto Scan off-channel set to 1, Best Transmission rate, Channel Width Auto 20/40, Visible, Auto WPA Mode with AES Cipher and a pre-share key. This yields fantastic results with my laptop, it can stream video for entire episodes, and I have no problems with loading webpages in either IE or Firefox. However, it does not support the kids iTouches or N3DS.
2) Changed the above to mixed 802.11n/g AND ALSO tried 802.11 only: iTouches work and can connect to the internet, but laptop doesn't like it. I get "Problem loading webpage" every other time I access and website, and streaming stop every 5-6 minutes. Bars indicate wireless signal is strong, but intermittently get that yellow triangle.
I bought a TP-Link TL-WR841N which i have managed to setup up properly, i am able to connect to the wireless and get internet access. However the minute i walk out of the room or a few meters away i am disconnected and i can't re-connect, i get the "windows cannot connect to TP-LINK" message. The signal strength in on excellent and i know it works because when i stand near it, it works perfect.I phoned TP-LINK technical support who were pretty useless and couldn't fix the problem.
1. the DAP-1522 will not connect to the 5GHz network of the DIR-815. Although, this doesn't surprise me as none of my 5GHz-capable devices see it, other than intermittently and at low signal. It is most likely an issue with the 815's 5GHz radio/network.
2. OTOH, the 1522 does appear to connect to the 815's 2.4GHz network just fine. However, there is no Internet access for any of the devices connected to the 1522's ports.
I know the 1522 can work correctly on 2.4GHz, as it previously did fine with my prior 2Wire router from AT&T. (I've just switched to Comcast, using the DIR-815 connected to their SMC modem.)
Also, I know the router and modem work fine (at least with 2.4GHz), as all of my wireless devices connect easily and with screaming bandwidth to the router and Internet.
So I have a DIR-825, I got from a family member as they didn't need it anymore. (Don't know if its under any warranty at all) I have a few different problems with it:
1. It doesn't install correctly. I insert the disc, the "Checking adapter enabled" finishes quickly and easy. Then the "Checking network status..." goes for about 30 seconds - 1 minutes and then I get the "Your new router does not appear to be connected properly." It gives the Follow these steps message of checking connections/resetting/etc, which I have done multiple times without success.
2. Despite the failed install, I DO get an internet connection. It starts to get weird though. I have 3 different connections currently connected to it with the following properties:
I can't get my VOIP ATA (linksys SPA-2102) to work properly with the shiny new DIR-835. I updated the firmware to 1.02 and messed around with various settings but it just won't work. Well, I can get registered and everything looks ok but, when I receive a call, the person at the other end can't hear me. I can hear them fine, but they can't hear me. I don't have any problem when I call someone. Still, it is frustrating. The problem persist even though I put the ATA in the DMZ.
My Dlink DCS-942Ls had been updated to the latest firmware both 1.12.1608WW and 1.12.1628EU. (I grouped them into two firmware devices). They are all H/W version A1, agent version 2.0.15-b11. If I setup time to automatic time configuration and sync with NTP servers ( all from drop down list and Thailand NTP server time1.nimt.or.th) , they did not work and I must set time manually every times I power off and on these IP cameras. I knew that this issues has been raised for long times and still exist in the current firmware.Simple way to eliminate this problem is specifying NTP server into IP number. ping your national NTP server URL and then get the IP address , e.g. time1.nimt.or.th has IP 203.185.69.60 , or ntp1.dlink.com has IP 61.67.210.241. I have tested many ways and the results can be comfirmed that URL NTP letter cannot sync time but IP number can do. I also has a DAP-1360 Repeater mode and test with its "System Check" ping test, the result are success either URL NTP server name and IP number. NTP protocol is different to ping test. I'm not sure that which parties (ISP, DNS, Router, IP camera device) should fix this error. I decided to specify NTP server with IP number to all network devices from D-Link. Minor risk may occur if a national NTP server change its IP number.
I got D-LINK DIR 651 Wireless Router, so i upgrade this Router to this firmware 1.10NA, release on Aug-24-2012, after this this i configure thois Router with my Modem MOTOROLA SB5101N. So the internet is working fine about an hour, there after on my Modem Send/Received light totally goes OFF, now there is no internet at all in my Home.So i unplug all & i connect my Modem directly to my PC after this i am getting internet perfectly on my PC. Then i call to my ISP they said this is not their problem from theoir site all OK.
When I connect my AppleTV to the wireless my AppleTV doesn't see any of the home sharing shares. When I connect it to wired it works fine. What am I missing?
I have latest 3.3 dlink d-view cam software and a dcs-932l ip camera.I noticed the remote streaming and remote recorded viewing (ports 5150 and 5160) as part of the server software. I know if i browse to my ip of my pc it allows me to view both services on html via windows plugin visual basic addon. My question is what iOS app and Mac OS X app will allow me to remotely monitor my dviewcam softwares network service for both live view and recorded view.
I'm connecting to the internet via ADSL. The modem is in our living room and has a DIR-655 connected to it. Also connected are an IPTV set-top box and an Xbox 360. In our office room we have 2 computers and a Buffalo LinkStation hard drive connected by wire to a DAP-1522 which is working as a bridge for the wireless network created by the DIR-655. The reason for this configuration is that the set-top box refused to work with IPTV through the wireless bridge. Before we got IPTV, the bridge was in the living room and was primarily used for Xbox, while the modem was in the office and allowed all desktop PCs to connect by wire.
Ever since we've had the desktop PCs connected via the bridge, surfing has been difficult. Download speeds are good, but very often webpages simply refuse to load. The browser just says "Connecting to [internet address here]. For example, I might log on to Facebook, have the front page load and then I try to open a picture someone has uploaded, but nothing happens. Clicking links, nothing happens. Clicking anywhere, nothing happens. Put a new address in the address bar, nothing happens. It just tries to connect the addresses, but won't.After waiting a while, or restarting the browser, it might work again for a while.
Is it my new modem, the DIR-655 or the DAP-1522? All devices get their IPs from the ADSL modem to ensure proper networking between the devices. Streaming from the NAS to the Xbox is flawless.
I have a DIR-655 (RevA) which I have been very happy with when used with a broadband wireless ISP. We just recently obtained Frontier DSL and I want to use my already configured DIR-655 with the new service. I have successfully bridged the Westell 7500 DSL modem provided by Frontier (DHCP server turned off, mode set to bridge-bridge.) I tested this by attaching a laptop and verifying that it was assigned a WAN IP address and that I could ping resources on the Internet.
When I attach the DLink and start it up, it gets a WAN address and everything looks good, but I can not ping (from the router) to any resource on the Internet (by IP address), including the assigned gateway. It goes without saying that computers attached to the DIR-655 are also unable to ping addresses on the Internet. Oh, I have cloned the Westell modem's MAC address to the DLink router as well.
Any special settings in the DIR-655 that are required to work with Frontier/Verizon's DSL network? Or compatibility issues? and I've updated to the 1.35NA firmware.
Trying to set up a simple schedule for keeping the kids from staying up all night. I'd had this working on a Linksys WRT54G till it bit the dust. I just want it to block internet after midnight. My problem is that the schedule is triggering the block unpredictably.?
The current setup we have contains two seperate networks, each managed by their own Cisco RV042 (10/100 4-Port VPN Router), and each have their own connection to a Comcast Business Class SMC Modem. (Each has its own static WAN IP provided by Comcast). Both VPN routers have VPN access configured allowing us to connect to our company's corporate intranet and network, and vice versa. Just as a reference point, We will call the first VPN 'GamesNetwork' and the other one 'AdminNetwork'. A problem came up where the computers on AdminNetwork could not access the resources of the GamesNetwork. The problem was resolved by our at-the-time official corporate IT guy but the solution was never explained to me. Recently i got curious and went into the config pages and found that each VPN router was linked to the other the same way corporate links to our VPN's, whch is by using the Internet IP of that vpn... So to me this says we are linking two local vpn networks using their internet connection which is on the same modem.. to me this seems messed up. is this really the way it needs to be done? Now... I have thought of the idea 'make the two networks into 1..' and it could work. but.. i dont have the permission to make this happen.
if you have two vpn routers side by side in the same room, is there a more local means of giving 1 vpn access to the resources of the other and vice versa?

I've been having this problem off and on for about a week now. I fixed it last time by deleting a file in my /drivers/etc folder that was not supposed to be there (I don't remember what the file was called, but I googled it and found it was causing multiple people problems as well). In doing this I seem to have messed something up in my computer because now the problem is back.I can't connect to youtube.com on Firefox or IE. It does let me connect to m.youtube.com though. This is the only website I've encountered a problem with. Here are the results from cmd:[CODE]
