New pc that i built, everything works properly but the internet connection...Windows said i needed the drivers for my router, so i tryed installing them but it said Enable Wired Network Adapter and said to retry after. I don't know what it's talking about. Router is D-Link WBR-1310.
View 4 RepliesI have recently had trouble with my wireless D-link WBR-1310 Router. Two days ago everything was working fine, my wireless connection from the router to my macbook was fine and the wired connection to my desktop pc was also fine. I went to bed and when I woke up the next day everything was still ok. About 3 hours after I had first turned on the PC that next day my wired connection started spiking and dropping connection frequently, maybe every 5-10 minutes or so. I play world of warcraft and I also use Mumble VoiP Program and my pings in both are over 800 constantly now making it impossible to stay connected to either program. Sometimes it will drop down to regular numbers (25-50ms, I play on eastern servers as I am in NY) but then rapidly jumps back up into the 1,000's. My wireless connection is still fine though nothing has happened to that, only my wired connection is messing up.
I've tried changing my speed and duplex settings on my onboard NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet which is what im using but it hasn't worked. When connecting directly through the modem the problem seems to stop so its definitely the router.

I have an hp g62 laptop and it has an Atheros ar9285 wireless adapter and a realtek pci-e ff ethernet adapter. For some reason just recently neither will connect to my netgear cable wifi router. I have two smartphones,xbox and two other laptops that connect with no problem. Everything is configured correctly that i can tell and both drivers have been updated. still nothing, it trys to connect but keeps saying identifying then it says no internet access. also i have disabled firewall and entered the security paraphrase twice just to make sure.

I have the switched turned on, I have gone into the Control Panel and Networks and made sure that everything is enabled properly. It won't let me connect at all, and my sister's laptop will connect to the router so I know that isn't the issue. Why it won't recognize my wireless adapter being on?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a WBR-1310 router that for the past few weeks has been giving me 'limited access' issues at psuedo-random intervals. The router functioned perfectly for a long time, I dug it out of storage about 8 months ago, and up until Christmas it was working fine, then both my roommate and I got tablets. Now our router is supporting 6 devices (PS3, 360, lappy, 2 tablets, smartphone) and occasionally more (other peoples phones, roommates laptop once he gets it repaired). However my research online has led me to believe that I should be able to support near unlimited wireless devices on the network (though effectively only around 30). Still, these extra two tablets are the ONLY change to the network that happened immediatly prior to this problem starting.Now I find that when I'm home alone I can go for the whole day with no network issues, but as soon as my roomy gets home and starts to use his devices the network craps out. unplugging the router and modem for 30 seconds fixes the problem temporarily, though the time before it craps out again ranges from hours to minutes.
I CAN plug my lappy into the modem directly when the router is not functioning and still have internet access, so it's definitely the router with the issue.All devices except for the PS3 are using wireless. I've done a hard reset to the router and set it back to factory settings on two occasions, I've changed the SSID and passphrase to get others off the network, I've changed the security type twice, I've tried some suggestions for similiar problems online such as enabling 'gaming mode' on my routers homepage, and setting a custom IP address (I used 10.0.0.1).Over the last 72 hours or so (the problem has existed for a few weeks) I've also received a few messages about my laptop having an IP address conflict; unsure if that is related, but I'm still able to access the internet when I get that message (albeit slower than average) [code] I will update this with another ipconfig the next time my internet dies; which I'm sure will be sometime today.
I have a D-Link WBR-1310 modem and for some reason the internet connection drops every 4-5 minutes and then comes back after 30 seconds.I don't know what the problem is. I tried resetting the modem which didn't work. I tried upgrading the firmware from D-Link's website but it says "The version of setting file is not compatible." for the .bin file.

I have the integrated adapter disabled in the control panel. Just bought a D-Link DWA-140 Rangebooster N wireless adapter. This finds all the networks my older USN adapter finds but at greater strength. When I click on connect to my own network I get the enter network key box. I enter the correct key, but get an error message telling it's incorrect. I revert to the older adapter or enable the integrated adapter and I get connected automatically.

I used the installation disc and set up a WPA password, named my router, and my network. For the installation, it seemed I could not even start without physically linking the router to my laptop with the included rollover cable. I finished that, and ever since my wireless adapter has been disabled. Whenever I attempt to enable it, I get an error; my laptop shuts down and I'm presented with blue screen. The only way I've been able to get back to normal is to reboot in safe mode and than do a system restore.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 5 month old Dell Inspiron 1564 with a Dell WLAN 1397 Wireless card. I was having some trouble connecting to my wireless router, and as a last attempt to get it working, I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for my wireless card, using a fresh download of the latest version from Dell's support site.
The driver seems to install fine, and when I look at the wireless card in Device Manager, it's enabled, but in "Control PanelNetwork and InternetNetwork Connections" (which can be accessed through the Network and Sharing Center), it is grayed out and says Disabled.
When I click enable in there, a small window pops us saying "Enabling", then after a few seconds, it says "Enabled" then disappears. However, the adapter stays disabled in N/W & Sharing center, and isn't picked up by Windows.
I've tried reinstalling the driver through Dell's driver installer, as well as through Windows' automated driver search, and neither works. I also tried to do a System Restore, but that is not working (can't complete on any of the restore points).
I also spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Dell support and their final advice was format and reinstall Windows.
More details:
- I am running Win 7 Pro.
- Wired networking and internet connection works fine
- I have Zone Alarm and Avast Anti virus, and I've tried disabling both to no avail
I have just started using my D-Link 1310 Router after quite a few years of it laying around. I managed to get as far as connecting my D820 and my Desktop in a basic Network. I have Windows XP Home on both the Desktop and Laptop. The next step I want to accomplish is making the Laptop wireless with my apartment. When I first had the Router, I of course had Technical Support and my Warranty with Dell was still active, so I was walked through the process and took notes. The only file I made note of for this step was installing the driver (US) WLAN Card Rev.A12, but there must be something else that enables the WiFi catcher because I don't have any icon in the System Tray and no way to access it.
I also remember it being necessary to Bridge the Modem and Router, (I believe we did it from the Verizon site). Though I was told recently that Bridging is not used anymore, now they do a thing called "Double Netting"?
I have a wireless router (TP-Link) which I want to use to extend my wired dorm room cable connection.The "blue" network cable currently goes straight into my laptop and I have no control over its configuration.Is it possible to plug the blue cable into the WAN port of my router and then wire the computer back into a LAN port?BUT that's not really the major problem. Mainly I would like to know how the router must be configured to allow me to use other wireless devices in my room (phone printer etc).Someone told me that I "just" need to use the "bridge" setting but that turned out to be complicated by warnings and messages about other SSIDs.Is "bridge" really the right mode? I recently purchased a DIR-655 and everything's working fine -- Internet access, visibility of local shares, etc. -- with the one except accessing to my printer (Brother MFC-7440N) that's hard-wired to a port on the router.After installing the latest PC SharePort Utility on my two Windows 7 desktops, they're both able to connect and use all of the features of the printer (print, scan, etc.). However, I can't say the same for my two Macbook Pro's connected via WiFi (802.11N). I installed the latest Mac SharePort Utility on both, but neither can "see" the printer. Caveat: If I connect the laptops via a LAN cable (ie. hard-wired directly into the router), they're able to see the printer. how to configure the router (or Mac) to allow them to see the printer?

My desktop has XP and only shows one adapter..I believe one of the adapters in the Acer net book is wireless ( being a new machine ) and the desktop is an older pc with a wired adapter. Could i copy the wireless adapter and paste it into my Desktop, to enable wireless connections? Obviously, we are not talking about actual cards, they are all integrated into the Motherboard.

To reinstate here. It is a refurbished notebook. I don't know if that has anything to do with my problem. But there is no wireless on/off switch. And pressing FN and F2 at the same time is not enabling my wireless adapter. Is there any way to enable it? Or could I have a faulty wireless adapter?
Looking at getting an older second computer onto the internet. We have a wireless connection on the primary computer so I was looking at the TP-Link TL-WN321G USB network adapter, or the TP-LINK WN350GD PCI network adapter.The end goal of course is to get the old computer onto wireless, but not sure what the best way to do it is. I'd think the motherboard would accept the PCI card though we do somewhat lack USB facilities. The computer uses a USB hub which I'm not sure if it would impact on internet speeds at all.

And I have to create profile for DWA-525 desktop adapter to connect to my network and it requires the network secret key to connect. But This secret key is viewable from the "Network connection manager" when one can click on modify network and click on "Show text in the password field" by everyone using this computer (I mean by all other office staff). I'm trying to stream music files to my A/V system. After weeks of encountering problems, I discovered that UPnP was disabled (by default) on the router. After enabling UPnP on the router, bingo......it worked. My A/V system has a Yamaha A/V receiver, which is a networking receiver capable of net radio and accessing/playing files on my PC. Net radio works fine. The problem I'm having is that when I shut down the A/V receiver, turn it back on, I can't access the files. I have to disable UPnP, save changes, and then reenable UPnP, save changes. When I do that, all is well and my receiver "sees" my PC and files. Shut down the receiver, turn it back on, back to square one and have to do the do the disable/enable routine again. PC is WinXP, using Windows Media Player 11. Seems the "enable" UPnP desn't "stick", even though it shows enabled on the setup page.

I've installed it, run the wizard etc but it doesn't work...not even wired. I've tried various cable configurations and I get nothing. Both cables are good and work just fine connected to the modem. I've reset it a few times, upgraded the firmware and still nothing...I'd think I'd at least get it to work hard wired. My laptop can see the network I set up even...but no data transmission. I'm not a wireless expert, but I need to become one fast!

I then was able to change the address to a static address, still wired and still can see it with IE. However when I disconnect the rj-45 cable, power down and restart, I can't access the cam.

I've tried everything to fix it.It's a D-Link DWA-525 802.11n Wireless PCI netowrk adapter. On device manager it just says 802.11 Wireless LAN Card with a yellow exclamation next to it. And when I check what the error is, it's either error 31 or 52 at different times, depending what I've tried to do to fix it.I tried downloading the driver for it off the D-Link website, nothing happens at all when I install it. I tried taking it out of my computer and plugging it in. I tried enabling it and disabling it on device manager.I noticed one thing, when it's in my computer the green light at the back that says activity next to it isn't on.

However, after I activate UPnP in my browser and the webpage reloads (after the common status screen that says you have to wait 5 seconds and you will be redirected). I am prompted for a password. But for some reason, it will not accept any password that I enter. In order to even get to the settings to UPnP in the first place, you must enter the correct password to access the settings. So I believe I am using the correct password, so why is it not accepting the correct password? I have had to reset my router to factory default settings (by pressing and holding the reset button for 30 seconds) multiple times because of this. But each time after enabling UPnP it will not accept the default password of admin nor will it accept any password that I assign it afterwards. I have noticed however that the "Filter Internal NAT Redirection" which should be set to enabled by default has been set to disabled even after I have reset the router. I have activated UPnP on the router before without trouble but have had to reset the router to factory default settings afterwards because of other reasons.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've installed version 4.8.02.0010 of the VPN client onto a Dell Latitude D820 laptop. When I attempt to connect, I get this message. There are no firewalls running (I disabled the Windows XP firewall) and I'm running under Service Pack 2 with all of the latest security patches from Microsoft.
I even tried un-installing the client and using an older version (4.8.00.0440) and it reports a similar error in the Log file.
I'd prefer to NOT have to wipe the laptop and reinstall the O/S if I don't have to. This is the only laptop that I've experienced this problem with but it's also the first Dell Latitude D820 that I've attempted to install the client on.
Is there a problem with the Dell Latitudes and the VPN Client? Is there another way around this other than a wipe and re-install?
