I am trying to install the software for my router (on a Windows Vista Laptop) and everytime I get to the software install and it is detecting the network-and then the program freezes and my wireless adapter is turned off. I have to force quit the program and turn the adapter back on.
View 1 RepliesAt one time this D-link adapter was installed on this same computer but somehow the drivers got deleted.I am trying to reinstall. The computer is running Windows XP Professional. I downloaded the driver from Dlink's web site and unzipped the files on the computer.The Ethernet Controller shows up in Device Manager with the yellow ? so I right click it and the click on Update Drivers. But when I tell it to install the drivers a window comes up saying it cannot install because it cannot find the necessary software.

View 5 Replies View RelatedComputer got bad virus (the FBI one on the news) so after every attempt to eradicate it failed, I did a fresh install of Windows 7 onto the computer. However for some reason it won't even acknowledge that it has a Network Adapter. When I go to Driver Devices, there is no Network Adapter to even click on to see what the adapter is so I know what kind of driver to install.
So being an optimist I installed several drivers and nothing has worked. Its set on cable connection and I can't get it to acknowledge its wi-fi. I haven't tried plugging it straight into the modem yet. That's my next step.
The modem connects to a D-Link DIR-655 which connects to a computer (Vista) and a switch, the switch then connects to another computer (Win7) and an xbox. the problem is that the vista computer will randomly connect and disconnect from the internet/ network. The vista computer also generally runs very slow on the internet. The Win7 computer runs perfectly and there is never an issue, so I'm wondering if the problem has to do with the vista computer not being connected to the switch? It is not an issue with the router, I have tried two already and the same issue occurs.the vista computer is running with a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R which has a Realtek 8111C LAN chipset.

I use Windows XP home and a Dell UBS 1450 wireless adapter (as I need a 3 metre extension to get a signal to the desktop). I had no such problme before today.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAs the title says I'm having really annoying 3 second disconnects every 3 minutes or so. I don't notice this when I'm browsing, just when I'm gaming. I realize that wireless and gaming don't mix but it's my only option at this point. What I'm looking for is a steady connection so I don't keep lagging out. I usually don't lag out from the server but it will say "There is a problem with your connection" for a second than resume as it takes a few more seconds to fully recover. The router in which its connected to is a room away though I live in an apartment so I'm not sure if that's part of the problem. The receiver I'm using is a dlink DWA-160.

I have the integrated adapter disabled in the control panel. Just bought a D-Link DWA-140 Rangebooster N wireless adapter. This finds all the networks my older USN adapter finds but at greater strength. When I click on connect to my own network I get the enter network key box. I enter the correct key, but get an error message telling it's incorrect. I revert to the older adapter or enable the integrated adapter and I get connected automatically.

When trying to set up the wireless connection via my virgin wireless manager I followed all the steps correctly until the last where it could not find my USB wireless adapter. I tried to install it and was met with an error message: "This installation is not supported on this operating system version. The setup application will exit." It will not install and my WiFi is still down.My system is an Alienware m15x with Windows 7 64-bit. I recently re-installed Windows due to a small bug that was hampering Google Chrome. Before I re-installed Windows, the WiFi was working just fine. Any working WiFi driver?

We have a wireless connection on the primary computer so I was looking at the TP-Link TL-WN321G USB network adapter, or the TP-LINK WN350GD PCI network adapter.The end goal of course is to get the old computer onto wireless, but not sure what the best way to do it is. I'd think the motherboard would accept the PCI card though we do somewhat lack USB facilities. The computer uses a USB hub which I'm not sure if it would impact on internet speeds at all.

And I have to create profile for DWA-525 desktop adapter to connect to my network and it requires the network secret key to connect. But This secret key is viewable from the "Network connection manager" when one can click on modify network and click on "Show text in the password field" by everyone using this computer (I mean by all other office staff). I don't want to let any one know my wireless network secret key. Is there any way to protect the key while having the computers automatically connected to wireless network. More information is below

today my Belkin 7050 wifi adapter arrived.I went through the install procedure from the cd,and when asked to plug in the adapter,I got the message asking for a notebook card,which I haven't got.It then told me that the drivers aren't installed.The device isn't showing in device manager.I called Belkin support but all the could suggest was that the device was to try it in another computer.I am unable to do this because the communal computer needs administrator rights to install programs etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 7 with the WUSB600N (v.2). Here is how I got it to work.The driver support is not a .exe. You will have to install it yourself...but it's not a big deal.Download the Windows 7 driver for your OS version from the Linksys Support page.Save it to the desktop and then unzip it to the desktop so you can find it easier.Once unzipped you will see 3 folders: Mac, Win7 32 and Win7 64. Choose accordingly.What I did was install it through the "Device Manager". (Right click "My Computer", choose "Manage", then Device Manager",or use the "Search Bar under the Start Menu...whatever. Once you are in the Device Manager...
1. Make sure your WUSB600N is inserted in your computer.
2. Navigate down to "Network Adapters" If you see your WUSB600N adapter...great! Your halfway home!
3. Right click on the "Linksys WUSB600N Adapter.
4. Choose the option to " Update Driver Software"
5. Choose "Browse My Computer for Software"
6. Navigate to the desktop and choose the folder that contains the name of your Windows 7 platform.
7. It should update but, HOLD ON! We are not done yet!!!
In order for it to start transmitting in that shiny new 5GHZ band, you must go into "Network and Sharing Center". Once there, look on the left hand side of the main window and you will see "Change adapter settings"Go there. You should see here that your existing adapter is still working (enabled) and your new Linksys WUSB600N has a big fat red "X" under it (disabled).Right click on your existing adapter and choose, "DISABLE".Then, right click on the WUSB600N adapter and choose "ENABLE".The last thing you should have to do is choose the network you want to connect to (for me it was the 5GHZ one) ..and Viola!!
I recently reinstalled my OS of my E1505 and was installing drivers from the Dell Resource CD (which was for an ME051, is this a problem?). But, after installing all of the drivers and system software my Intel ProSet Wireless program still says there is no supported wireless adapter on the computer...I also cannot create a connection when I connected the laptop to my hardline DSL cable.
In addition, the video card driver will not install saying that one or more files needed to complete the install were missing and it closes the install wizard. Just in case any of you can answer that as well.
The other day I went to a friends house, came back home, booted up my PC, and my wireless network adapter wasn't working. I've tried everything to fix it.It's a D-Link DWA-525 802.11n Wireless PCI netowrk adapter. On device manager it just says 802.11 Wireless LAN Card with a yellow exclamation next to it. And when I check what the error is, it's either error 31 or 52 at different times, depending what I've tried to do to fix it.I tried downloading the driver for it off the D-Link website, nothing happens at all when I install it. I tried taking it out of my computer and plugging it in. I tried enabling it and disabling it on device manager.I noticed one thing, when it's in my computer the green light at the back that says activity next to it isn't on.

Instead of leaving well alone with an old driver, I decided to update the Belkin driver - which went well. However, the Dell 365 Module then reported an error and trouble shooting informed me that it now had a driver error. Windows searched for and found a driver, but could not install it.. I've since downloaded and installed new Dell drivers for it but I still get the same result - can't install driver. (The module was working fine before I up-dated the Belkin driver.)
I figure I now have to un-install the Module and then install an up-dated version. Is this the right way to go and if it is, how do I go about it? I'm using Win7 64 bit on an Inspiron 1750.
there is no DIR 632 forum so I figured I'll post in the most active close one. My DIR 632 Disconnects AOL IM every 10mn or so, i tried changing the ports from 5190 to 443 which use to sole an issue of rapid disconnects/reconnects with a previous router (linksys).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a D-link DIR 615 and 2 laptops, a Toshiba (Vista) at about 35 ft away and a Dell (XP) about 15 ft away from the router. Both laptops connect to the router. The Dell w/ 4 or 5 bars and the Toshiba usually 2 bars. They stay connected to the router but lose the internet regularly. Anywhere from every day or two or 3 and 4 times a day. Usually shutting off the router for 10 seconds and turning it on again will reconnect to the internet but sometimes it takes up to 4 or more times and resetting the router before it works again. This happened when I was on a different cable network at a different address last year.

However, whenever i try to watch a show online, or even play a flash game, it would disconnect. I've only had this router for one day. I have Time Warner Cable as my cable provider and honestly since I'm living alone, the only two device that'll ever use the router is my laptop and my desktop.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been having some issues with my network connectivity for a while now, and I haven't been able to figure out what the problem is. I run a wired connection to an Ethernet port in the wall of my university dorm. I have verified that it is not a global network issue or an ISP issue; this problem only happens on my PC.My network connection drops/disconnects randomly throughout the day. When I say disconnect/drop, I mean that all attempts to ping or access the internet fail. A few minutes pass before the Network and Sharing center task tray icon shows a warning sign saying that my computer could not connect to the internet.This is temporarily fixed by doing an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew, but I have to execute these two commands about 2-3 times a day on average.
There is no exact interval between the disconnects, nor does it happen when I am running particular programs. The disconnect happens regardless of what I am doing at the moment (gaming, browsing the internet, leaving the computer idle).A month back, I installed some Windows Updates and suddenly my internet connection was almost completely broken. I was experiencing the same issue, but much more frequently. My internet would die within 10 seconds of executing any download, but Windows wouldn't recognize that something was wrong. At first I thought the ZoneAlarm, Avast!, or the SafeConnect (as required by my university) services were causing trouble but uninstalling/disabling these services did not fix the problem.I also tried reverting to my default ethernet drivers, which did nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple versions of my drivers to no avail.However, the internet worked just fine in Safe Mode with Networking, so I cross-referenced the processes/services running in Safe Mode w/ Networking against my normal startup, guessing something else was at play.After some poking around, I discovered that disabling the Server and Browser services permanently fixed the issue of instant connection death. But the initial problem I described still remains;random, less frequent internet connection drops.
I have connected two dsl modems for extending wifi coverage,the main one is netgear and the extended on is D-link,but the problem is the d-links wireless disconnects every 5 minutes or so..i have connected a pc with a cable from this modem but there r no problems with pc internet...so is the hardware of modem faulty or is this due to inappropriate settings of modem,i have disabled the dhcp and changed the ip address already.

I just recently purchased a D-Link 615 and i've been having disconnection issues with the internet. Every now and then the internet connection disconnects and i have to reboot the router to have internet access again.
