View 5 RepliesI have a Dell Latitude D630. When i try to connect to wifi network using the intel proset wireless wifi software, it denied to accept the password and give me some checksum error.
I have successfully connected to wifi network using windows xp zero wireless configuration utility. So, what is wrong with "intel proset wireless wifi software" ?
I have Dell Vostro 1500, i was reinstalling my latop today, and when I try to install Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility, there is a error at the end of the installation "Driver is not installed, a problem with this connection has been detected" , the internet is not working.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just reformatted my Fujitsu A6120 lifebook laptop and I downloaded all the drivers and everything installed fine except for the Intel PRO/Wireless Network Driver. I even downloaded the driver from Support Downloads. After I installed it, a notification popped up in the task bar with the Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless saying Driver is not installed. edit: in device manager, under network adapters there is only the 1394 net adapter and there are yellow exclamation marks in other devices.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI wiped out a Dell Inspiron 2200 and re-installed Windows XP Pro SP3 on it. Everything seemed to work fine until I try re-installing the Wireless Driver. The dell support website pointed me to the Intel PorSet/Wireless 11.1.0.30, which I downloaded and installed successfully, with the only problem.... It does not work. When I open the utility it pops a message saying that the "Driver is not installed", and no signals show or anything. When I go to the device manager, the OTHER DEVICES shows a "network controller" with the yellow question mark, but when I connect to the internet (via ethernet cable) to update the driver, windows can't find nothing out there to solve the issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the same issue and have been surfing the web for the solution for quite some time. Brand new Sony VAIO laptop with blu-ray has an Intel WiFi bgn 1000 wireless network adapter. It worked fine for couple of days, until i brought it to work. We use wireless connection in our office. Maximum 7 computers are connected at a time. All other 6 laptops connect to our network with no problems (all of them are on win7x64). Now, back to the problem. Wireless works at home and at work in the evening , when no one in the office. I've removed all 3rd party software, uninstalled Intel software. Am using clean driver from the Intel website. Tried different revisions of the driver - issue is still there. I've contacted VAIO support. This is not known issue to them. They offered standard actions (unisntalling the driver, power management options, enabling VAIO Smart Network). No updates of fixes on their support website. I have also checked in the event viewer. There is only one service being enabled and disabled constantly (TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper) - which is happening at the same time with wireless drop. There are about 5-8 drops per minute. Computer browser service disabled. Firewall disabled, antivirus disabled. We assume this could be an interference with mobile diveces. While now, we have disabled all wireless cards on all computers, switched off mobile phones. And... AXAXAXAXA!!! BSOD 0x00000018 (0x000....00, 0xFFFFFA800754A750, 0x00...02, 0xFC01020EFC01020B).
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor about a month or two now, I've not been able to connect to my router's admin page @ 192.168.1.1 I am using a D-Link DSL-2680 router.
Whenever I go to connect to 192.168.1.1 in my Web Browser, it just sits there trying to connect and does nothing. But eventually after some minutes I get the error: 'This web page is not available The web page at http://192.168.1.1/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error.' Here is a screenshot:
I tried pressing the reset button on the back of my router, but it would just sit there with the green power LED and another green LED just flashing constantly (I assume this is the ethernet 1 cable LED) and this happens for more than 10 minutes.
All I want to do is just port forward my game servers again without the use of Hamachi or other programs
My RIM Playbook will connect to the DIR-601. My HP Laptop with the Intel WiFi 5300 AGN will connect to it.
However the Acer Aspire 1640 with the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG will not.
SYMPTOMS: The system can see the network SSID, even seems to pick up the correct encryption (AES or TKIP) and also whether I've configured it for B or G modes. However when I attempt to connect to the network, the system prompts for the key, then pretends like it never did. A second attempt prompts for the key, and attempts to connect, but fails, simply saying "Cannot connect."
SOFTWARE: This laptop is running Windows XP Home Edition SP3. I've tried connecting using the Intel client PROSET software (the newest version, just downloaded) as well as the native Windows client. THE EXACT SAME BEHAVIOUR OCCURS, leading me to believe it's not a software issue.
HARDWARE: This is a D-Link DIR-601 at Hardware Version B1 and Firmware Version 2.00NA
I have the router set to WPA-Personal, WPA2 Only, TKIP (have tried it on AES too), G only (have also tried B only). The router has already been hard reset and I started over from scratch. I've also ensured I have the latest drivers for the wifi adapter.
Other laptops, tablets, and even phones can connect to the router with no issue.
Seems like this is an incompatibility with this particular Intel WiFi adapter, but cannot find any official list of incompatible hardware I can use to confirm.
Would changing the software to DD-WRT work in this case, do you think? Or is this more likely to be a hardware thing?
my Intel wireless card keeps losing the connection. Until a couple of weeks ago it would be fine for roughly the first 20 minutes then the connection would just completely drop out and the only way to get it back again is to go into the network and sharing centre, disable the network card and then reenable it. Most of the time this works, but again for only the first 20-30 minutes, then I have to do it again. Occasionally it works for for longer but that's a rare occasion. Now not only does it do this, but also, if I put my laptop into sleep, sometimes when I turn it back on again the card will not connect to the network and I have to do the same disable and enable process.[ODE]

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently built a new computer with an Intel DP55WB motherboard which contains the 8257DC Gigabit controller. I am running Windows 7 64-bit with the latest Intel drivers. I have noticed that when the new computer is on the network, the wireless recycles and then completely fails. I thought the DIR-655 had died, but when I rebooted the router with the computer turned off, the wireless came back up. I checked the router logs, and multiple wireless restarts are clearly indicated. After about a dozen wireless restarts, the wireless turns off. I am running firmware 1.20 (I haven't seen any reason to upgrade until now).

I have a problem with my Lenovo y560. One of the members here had the same prob. but his thread is closed,so i can't write him anymore. PM also doesn't work.[URL]"...I have a Lenovo Y560 that worked fine up excepting a keyboard issue that I fixed based on a youtube posting. The fix was to tape a small piece of antistatic tape under the keyboard over a screwlike piece of metal. Apparently that metal was causing static by rubbing against the keyboard data cable. It fixed the problem. Previous to the fix, various keyboard keys prompted shortcut keys (maddening and couldn't type). After assembling the keyboard and the top of the keyboard pad (was very careful to not bring static and assemble properly), the wireless connection began to drop. I have another laptop (Asus) with a similar set-up but a Centrino wifi card (vs. Intel 1000 bgn for the Lenovo) and it was connecting to the wifi no problem. Often, I'll see a yellow sun symbol over the wifi bars or a blue animated circle or a red x. Changing the standard settings does not work. Attaching an ethernet cable brings up a perfect connection.
1) I've covered an antenna of some sort with the anti-static plastic (pea-sized piece).
2) My wifi card is bad and coincidentally went out when I fixed the other problem above.
3) When the keyboard problem existed, I hit a shortcut that reconfigured the wifi somehow (but it worked fine before I opened up the keyboard.
The problem is that it always stays around 121-150mbps and sometimes 270mbps(beside router). here is my wireless settings on my router

Just recently upgrade our 2 5508 controllers from 6.0.199.0 to 7.0.116.0. Since that upgrade, I have a handful (8 to 10) of wireless laptops that now refuse to associate to any access points. The thing these laptops all have in common is some variation of the Intel Wifi Link AGN cards. I have about 200 other clients out there working just fine.
I've tried everything under the sun that I can think of. Patches, drivers, the whole sh'bang.
Is there a known issue with 7.0.116.0 and these particular cards?
Which Intel network cards runs well with E4200 (latest FW)? I mean good connection and transfers rate. I have two clients with the same cards (Intel 4965agn, latest driver) and I got transfer rates at 144 Mbps with both radios working (2.4 and 5GHZ on the E4200). When I try to use 5Ghz only it drops to 54 Mbps and for 2.4Ghz it drops for 130 Mbps. Could I reach better transfers rate with a Intel 4965agn card (300 or 450 Mbps)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know now that this is a Desktop motherboard, officially not supported for Windows Server operating systems, but I would still like to get it to work. I've confirmed that the motherboard network works in WinXP (Intel 82579V Gigabit) and typically the 32-bit Windows XP drivers work on Server 2003 as well. Several of the other drivers have installed just fine, but the network driver install package fails with "No Intel Adapters are present."
I am trying to install Windows Home Server v1 (based on Windows Server 2003) on this box and just want to get a basic network driver up and running. I've checked the BIOS config, and Device Manager shows a yellow question mark by "Ethernet Controller". The ID is:

I have tried Intel tools and latest drivers ( w/ and w/o pro wireless utility) but cannot pass thru code 10 error. Tried uninstall and install....as earlier card 4965 agn worked fine but seems like some conflict is stopping successful 5300 agn driver install.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI've been having some issues lately where if I am copying large amounts of files two and from my NAS and thus saturating my gigabit ethernet, web browsing and internet streaming slows down which is a bit of a bummer. I figured I might fix this with link aggregation.
My switches (Procurve 1810G-24 in basement and 1810G-8 in office) both support 802.3ad Link Aggregation. It works beautifully to connect them together, as well as to connect my FreeNAS box to the switch as well.
how do I set it up to work with my Windows 7 box?

My motherboard has two on board Intel gigabit ports (Intel 82574L and Intel 82579V). Is it possible to link these two, or do I need to pick up another Intel PRO PT dual port copper gigabit NIC like I have two of in my server?
I installed an Intel 4965AGN into my Dell Inspiron (running Windows 7) to connect with 802.11n to my D-Link DIR-655. It refuses to connect in N mode, it will only connect in G mode. I have tried everything I could find online. I set security to WPA2-AES, and even tried with no security with no luck whatsoever. Before the 4965AGN i had an Intel 5300 which had the same problem, but I returned it because I thought it was a problem with compatibility with my Dell. Apparently something else is the culprit. What could I be over-looking?

My router broadcasts at 5GHz and 802.11n and despite having a an up-to-date Inetl(R) Wifi Link 1000 BGN driver teh computer does not recognise the network.

Personally I don't want to do that.
I recently lost network connection using the built-in Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN. Stupidly, this happened while I was still under a Service Contract, but due to the holidays, I put it off and the contract expired the middle of December. I have a Studio 17/1745, I disconnected the internal WI-fi card and use a USB D-Link N and I now have WI-fi. Should I purchase a new internal WiFi card and if so which one.
