View 2 Replies View Relatedmy Intel wireless card keeps losing the connection. Until a couple of weeks ago it would be fine for roughly the first 20 minutes then the connection would just completely drop out and the only way to get it back again is to go into the network and sharing centre, disable the network card and then reenable it. Most of the time this works, but again for only the first 20-30 minutes, then I have to do it again. Occasionally it works for for longer but that's a rare occasion. Now not only does it do this, but also, if I put my laptop into sleep, sometimes when I turn it back on again the card will not connect to the network and I have to do the same disable and enable process.[ODE]

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an Advent 5421 with Vista installed, it's nearly 3 years old and I have a few problems with it, but nothing too terrible, until yesterdy when I switched it on and found the wireless connection has mysteriously disappeared. When I try to connect it says there are no networks to connect to, which is obviously bollocks. The internet will now only work if I plug the cable in, which is no good as I share a flat with 2 other girls and if I do that, they lose their connection. I don't understand whats happened. I really am not computer literate at all, the only thing I tried was to make sure I had the latest software updates for my computer, which I did, but nothing happened.

I have completed several system restores, and the wireless connection works for a few days. On the last occasion (after installing windows updates) I received the dreaded blue screen and have been unable to connect.I am not sure if it is related to installing new windows updates as prior to restoring to factory settings I had no issues with my wireless connection.I am able to connect using the ethernet cable and I am currently able to connect using Pluscom wireless usb adapter.I am using the fujitsu siemens amilo pi 2515 notebook.netgear dg834g router?

I have a problem with my Lenovo y560. One of the members here had the same prob. but his thread is closed,so i can't write him anymore. PM also doesn't work.[URL]"...I have a Lenovo Y560 that worked fine up excepting a keyboard issue that I fixed based on a youtube posting. The fix was to tape a small piece of antistatic tape under the keyboard over a screwlike piece of metal. Apparently that metal was causing static by rubbing against the keyboard data cable. It fixed the problem. Previous to the fix, various keyboard keys prompted shortcut keys (maddening and couldn't type). After assembling the keyboard and the top of the keyboard pad (was very careful to not bring static and assemble properly), the wireless connection began to drop. I have another laptop (Asus) with a similar set-up but a Centrino wifi card (vs. Intel 1000 bgn for the Lenovo) and it was connecting to the wifi no problem. Often, I'll see a yellow sun symbol over the wifi bars or a blue animated circle or a red x. Changing the standard settings does not work. Attaching an ethernet cable brings up a perfect connection.
1) I've covered an antenna of some sort with the anti-static plastic (pea-sized piece).
2) My wifi card is bad and coincidentally went out when I fixed the other problem above.
3) When the keyboard problem existed, I hit a shortcut that reconfigured the wifi somehow (but it worked fine before I opened up the keyboard.
My advent 4211 has intermittent wireless connectivity.I have tried resetting the channel on the hub, but have had no luck thus far. Also I have updated the driver from Realtek, but the problem persits. I have also moved the hub to another location. The thing is that I have another Laptop which has no problem connecting.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased an Advent DT2410 about a month ago from PC world. It came with Windows 8 OS a USB wireless stick and the following basic spec:
Intel® Core™ i5-3330 processor
Genuine Windows® 8
Memory: 8 GB
Hard drive: 2 TB
So initially brought it home, set it up and fired up connected to the internet perfectly fine with the stick. Then about once every 2/3 days, it would pick up no internet connection despite being next to the router and after 2-3 shut downs in a row would work again. When the connectivity icon was blank, I would go to trouble shoot it and windows 8 wouldn't do anything, not even attempt to detect the problems (bare in mind this PC is brand new).So I leave my home by my University and came back to my parents for Christmas. Lugged my PC back with me and set it up.So first I connected to the wireless no problems, loaded up my favorite forums and after image hovering over about 3 images the 4th would only load the top 3rd of the picture. Open up new tabs "Connecting" until:
A) Server would time out
B) Wireless would DC and then reconnect (before basically repeating the "3 image view")
C) Would work for a few hours (e.g. a streamed film) before screwing up again (rare)
So, reinstalled drivers, replaced the USB wireless stick (802.11n.) AND STILL problems problems problems. I then cleared the IP/TC stacks (I believe they're called) did it through the elevated command prompt and still nothing. So i'm using my sister's laptop to write this as my internet on my PC barely runs long enough for me to be able to check this page or download the program mentioned in the sticky.
I have a Dell Latitude D630. When i try to connect to wifi network using the intel proset wireless wifi software, it denied to accept the password and give me some checksum error.
I have successfully connected to wifi network using windows xp zero wireless configuration utility. So, what is wrong with "intel proset wireless wifi software" ?
I recently got a second hand Advent Roma 2000, which runs with Windows 7. After a while I managed to configure it to allow my T-Mobile internet dongle to connect. However, we recently got BT put in and I cannot find the wireless router [BT HomeHub 2.0].Now, at first I thought maybe the wireless detection on the router was faulty, but I checked my 360's wireless connection and that has connected with no problems.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhich Intel network cards runs well with E4200 (latest FW)? I mean good connection and transfers rate. I have two clients with the same cards (Intel 4965agn, latest driver) and I got transfer rates at 144 Mbps with both radios working (2.4 and 5GHZ on the E4200). When I try to use 5Ghz only it drops to 54 Mbps and for 2.4Ghz it drops for 130 Mbps. Could I reach better transfers rate with a Intel 4965agn card (300 or 450 Mbps)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know now that this is a Desktop motherboard, officially not supported for Windows Server operating systems, but I would still like to get it to work. I've confirmed that the motherboard network works in WinXP (Intel 82579V Gigabit) and typically the 32-bit Windows XP drivers work on Server 2003 as well. Several of the other drivers have installed just fine, but the network driver install package fails with "No Intel Adapters are present."
I am trying to install Windows Home Server v1 (based on Windows Server 2003) on this box and just want to get a basic network driver up and running. I've checked the BIOS config, and Device Manager shows a yellow question mark by "Ethernet Controller". The ID is:

My new computer has a problem with the on-board gigabit ethernet it keeps dropping network connection every few minutes. Nothing has had any effect. It has been such an annoying problem, I really was hoping to find a fix for this sooner as I know other people have had similar issues. Does anyone have any other ideas because I would like to use the only ethernet connection sometime in the near future. Having to run of an WPN11 netgear usb adapter at the moment.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the same issue and have been surfing the web for the solution for quite some time. Brand new Sony VAIO laptop with blu-ray has an Intel WiFi bgn 1000 wireless network adapter. It worked fine for couple of days, until i brought it to work. We use wireless connection in our office. Maximum 7 computers are connected at a time. All other 6 laptops connect to our network with no problems (all of them are on win7x64). Now, back to the problem. Wireless works at home and at work in the evening , when no one in the office. I've removed all 3rd party software, uninstalled Intel software. Am using clean driver from the Intel website. Tried different revisions of the driver - issue is still there. I've contacted VAIO support. This is not known issue to them. They offered standard actions (unisntalling the driver, power management options, enabling VAIO Smart Network). No updates of fixes on their support website. I have also checked in the event viewer. There is only one service being enabled and disabled constantly (TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper) - which is happening at the same time with wireless drop. There are about 5-8 drops per minute. Computer browser service disabled. Firewall disabled, antivirus disabled. We assume this could be an interference with mobile diveces. While now, we have disabled all wireless cards on all computers, switched off mobile phones. And... AXAXAXAXA!!! BSOD 0x00000018 (0x000....00, 0xFFFFFA800754A750, 0x00...02, 0xFC01020EFC01020B).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Advent Laptop running vista and I have a problem with windows suddenly not being able to find one specific wifi network. I have no problem connecting to my home network, or that of any of my friends networks. However when I go to the holiday park where I have a caravan and go into the owners lounge to use the free wifi windows can't find it. (I used to be able to connect with no problem, it's just that for some reason windows can't find it now). Everybody else in the lounge can connect with no problem. If I use my phone's usb tethering feature I can connect to the wifi network. If go into another part of the complex I can connect to the wifi there with no problem. On the park they operate two networks, one in the owners lounge, the one I can no longer connect to, and one in the cafe/bar which I can connect to.I can only assume that some 'setting' on my laptop has changed and is stopping windows finding the network, but I have no idea what it could be.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to setup a wireless ad hoc network so I can connect to the internet using my iPod Touch. My wireless adapter is Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection running the most up-to-date driver.
- Set it so Windows configures my wireless network settings
- Created a wireless ad hoc in Wireless Network Connection Properties
- Changed it so that network access is given to ad hoc networks only
- For my LAN connection under Internet Connection Sharing, "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection" is ticked I am able to connect to the network that I setup but when I try to connect to the internet it fails. When I check the Wi-Fi Networks setting on my iPod Touch it gives this information:
IP Address: 169.254.1.158.228
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Router: (blank)
DNS: (blank)
Search Domains: (blank)
Client ID: (blank)
I checked and that IP isn't my IP?
My RIM Playbook will connect to the DIR-601. My HP Laptop with the Intel WiFi 5300 AGN will connect to it.
However the Acer Aspire 1640 with the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG will not.
SYMPTOMS: The system can see the network SSID, even seems to pick up the correct encryption (AES or TKIP) and also whether I've configured it for B or G modes. However when I attempt to connect to the network, the system prompts for the key, then pretends like it never did. A second attempt prompts for the key, and attempts to connect, but fails, simply saying "Cannot connect."
SOFTWARE: This laptop is running Windows XP Home Edition SP3. I've tried connecting using the Intel client PROSET software (the newest version, just downloaded) as well as the native Windows client. THE EXACT SAME BEHAVIOUR OCCURS, leading me to believe it's not a software issue.
HARDWARE: This is a D-Link DIR-601 at Hardware Version B1 and Firmware Version 2.00NA
I have the router set to WPA-Personal, WPA2 Only, TKIP (have tried it on AES too), G only (have also tried B only). The router has already been hard reset and I started over from scratch. I've also ensured I have the latest drivers for the wifi adapter.
Other laptops, tablets, and even phones can connect to the router with no issue.
Seems like this is an incompatibility with this particular Intel WiFi adapter, but cannot find any official list of incompatible hardware I can use to confirm.
Would changing the software to DD-WRT work in this case, do you think? Or is this more likely to be a hardware thing?
I have an HP laptop running Windows XP almost five years old which contains an Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG network device. It connects fine with my router WiFi running off DSL. I recently bought an iPhone 4 and set it up as a personal hotspot. I've been able to connect a friend's Macbook to it. But even though my HP laptop sees the iPhone network, when I try to connect to it I get "Unable to connect to this network. It may be out of range." I've downloaded the current update for the wireless device.

I have noticed that when the new computer is on the network, the wireless recycles and then completely fails. I thought the DIR-655 had died, but when I rebooted the router with the computer turned off, the wireless came back up. I checked the router logs, and multiple wireless restarts are clearly indicated. After about a dozen wireless restarts, the wireless turns off. I am running firmware 1.20 (I haven't seen any reason to upgrade until now).
