Im running a pre intel mac g5 with 10.5.8 on it and when i insert my setup disc for my new e1200 router there is a slash through the start up icon and then i get a message that its not supported by my architechure. Is my computer to old to set up this router???
View 2 RepliesI have been attempting to set up a linksys wireless-n e1200 router on my hp p6-2007c (Windows 7 SP1, 64-bit) desktop pc for the last day and have exhausted everything i can think of. The previous router was a linksys WRT54G and it worked fine. However, upon setting up this new router i get a "no internet access" message accompanied by the little yellow triangle and the ability to still connect to my router via its ip address to alter its configuration. The connection status for the network and the internet is identical for all the laptops in my house. I originally attempted setting up the router using Cisco's setup program. At its conclusion, the setup program informs me that i am connected to the router, but my internet connection has been lost (even though it was never there) I have tried starting over from scratch by resetting the router back to its default settings and using a variety of different channels (Auto, 1, 6, and 11), frequencies, etc. I have uninstalled norton antivirus, disarmed the windows security programs, made sure of TCP/IP settings, rolled back, uninstalled, and finally updated firmware, uninstalled/reinstalled driver for wireless card, disabled/enabled the card itself, deleted all other previous network profiles still present in the "Manage Wireless Networks" screen, and probably some other suggestions i came across in this forum. They all failed with the same results, i.e. the ability to connect to the network locally and having no internet access.

i setup security dvrs on the internet so clients can see cameras from outside their homes. I would like to be able to login to a router if i need to foward a port or something similar.
I'm able to connect to the internet through my E1200 router but I cannot access the router set up page. 192.168.1.1 doesn't work... I can connect to it just fine with my laptop however... so I changed it to 192.168.254.1 as per some internet instructions. Still can't connect via my desktop... Tried ipconfig /flushdns to no avail. Cleared the internet cache Upgraded the firmware (via the laptop) rebooted the computer rebooted the router... reset the router... After rebooting the router I can type in the username and password to access the router, but it never connects....

I go to the "Wireless MAC Filter" page and enable MAC filtering.When I click the “wireless client list” button, a new window opens saying “IE cannot display the webpage”. This always happens when I have a wireless connection active.When there are no active connections, then IE properly displays the MAC address table, but it is empty since there aren't any computers connected to the router.

In next program that just keeps trying to auto repair the connection and never displays any radio button option the direction state like "advanced settings".At the very least your PDF should match your user friendly **bleep** ware!The instructions even refer to itself wrong! It states "for manual set up go use browser connection section" then in that section it describes an auto set up and instructs you to follow the set up steps on the CD.

Recently purchased a Linksys E4200.Computers on network:Two hard-wired gigabit desktops: one Windows XP, one Windows 7One hard-wired 100mbps desktop running Windows 7One laptop with an Intel 4965AGN running Windows 7.File transfer rates between any of the desktops and the laptop is very slow: ~2 megabytes/s
File transfer rates between the gigabit desktops is good (~50 megabytes/s, hdd bottleneck), transfers between the 100mbps desktop and one of the gigabit machines gives ~10 megabytes/s.Currently running on the 5Ghz band, connected with N at 300 megabits, good signal strength. Disabled mixed mode on this band, enabled N-only.Use a scanner tool, I can tell that there are no other networks on 5Ghz band.Also, tried 2.4 Ghz band and got similiar low speeds.These transfer rates are much below what other people report for real-world throughput. Any ideas? I know there is an Advanced Wireless config page, is there a setting there that might work if adjusted?
I have searched on the problem as much I as I can to no eval, I can not get the Intel 5300 on a Lenovo T400 to connect at N on either radio
I tried evey combination of settings possible on the E4200 and on the 5300 Which was a lot of combinations I can only get the a G connection on 2.45ghz and only an A on the 5ghz
To make things worse, trying to call Lenovo is pointless without a warrenty they wont even answer simple questions without out it, totally insane!
Which Intel network cards runs well with E4200 (latest FW)? I mean good connection and transfers rate. I have two clients with the same cards (Intel 4965agn, latest driver) and I got transfer rates at 144 Mbps with both radios working (2.4 and 5GHZ on the E4200). When I try to use 5Ghz only it drops to 54 Mbps and for 2.4Ghz it drops for 130 Mbps. Could I reach better transfers rate with a Intel 4965agn card (300 or 450 Mbps)?

When some one at home using internet I can commetc to the router using remote management. But when everybody out and no internet users at home I cannot connect to the router. I checked with other router from linksys (old one WAG45G or something like this) and it was the same. But it works great whith TP-Link routers.

I bought a Sharp Blu Ray player that has wireless capability connected to the TV with HDMI cable and the LAN adapter is in the player. When I had the Blu Ray downstairs I had it connected to the LINKsys thru an ethernet cable and didn't use the adapter, but I wanted to take it upstairs and use it on that TV. I set a password for the web interface then it boots me out and I am promted for the password and username.I don't want to download and configure my router with some poorly written software for my mac; why can't I just do it all through the good old web interface???? I'm able to set everything else up fine but when i set the password I am basically rendering the web interface usless and have to reset the router!! (running Lion, latest build with 8gigs of ram and N wirless adaptor in lappy)

I set my router to allow my xbox360's mac address, not knowing that it would kick out all of my other devices. So now I can't access my own router and I need to reset it. View 1 Replies View RelatedI replaced my broken modem with a new Motorola 3360 as recommended by my ISP. The new modem works fine connected directly to my PC. When connecting the modem to the Cisco E1200 router, the same one I had with the older modem, the E1200 says I'm not connected to the PC. I've triple checked the wired connections from the modem to the router and then to the PC. I've swapped out cables and verified that they all work when used directly from the modem to the PC. I'm thinking some settings from the old Westell modem are messing with the connectivity of the new E1200 router.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi'm having connection issues requiring frequent reboots of my router. it starts with internet slowdown to a crawl, then it times out and lastly the webinterface is not even responding when i try to access it to reboot. Requiring me to manually unplug. this happens once a day atleast.
Sometimes it recovers after a few minutes and get on the net.i've tried flashing, reflashing, re-reflashing , resetting , re-resetting, to no end. And all the usual tricks tech support ask to do.
i didn't use to have this problem before the firmware update

The regular (non-guest) account works as advertised. The E1200 is connected to my Verizon modem/router. I have tried disable/enable of DHCP on the E1200; I have tried setting the E1200 Static DNS 1 to my Verizon router IP address without success.
I just installed an E1200 router and used the CD to take care of the software work. I Cannot connect to it by WiFi. I still have to use a cable connection.

Whenever he logs ons or logs off from internet I GET DISCONNECTED! Its very frustrating. My ISP requires MAC authentication on the router for internet access. They provide the router, and register that router to their access list.I'm not very happy with the router they provided, so I'm planning to buy a E1200 and clone my current router's MAC address. But when I checked the interface of this router, the mac cloning page has a button saying "Clone my PC's MAC". And in the FAQ page of E1200 it says that the router can automatically capture the MAC address of the PC. Which is not what I want to do.I want to manually input my older router's MAC address into this router to clone it.
