I want to be able to login to a router remotely and foward a port on the router. I thought i saw a spot for remote management but don't know how to use it. I have a dyn account and can create a dns for it.
i setup security dvrs on the internet so clients can see cameras from outside their homes. I would like to be able to login to a router if i need to foward a port or something similar.
I can not even get in to management mode. In next program that just keeps trying to auto repair the connection and never displays any radio button option the direction state like "advanced settings".At the very least your PDF should match your user friendly **bleep** ware!The instructions even refer to itself wrong! It states "for manual set up go use browser connection section" then in that section it describes an auto set up and instructs you to follow the set up steps on the CD.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a small issue with Remote Management on my E4200v2.I have enabled it , select https and set Allowed Remote IP Address to any on the default port ( 8080 ).After all of this, I cannot connect to my router from my office or any other place. I'm using DDNS and all its ok ( updated at time ). I've tried also connecting to my direct ip address ( dynamic ) but with no result.P.S. no incoming log from port 443 using https.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been attempting to set up a linksys wireless-n e1200 router on my hp p6-2007c (Windows 7 SP1, 64-bit) desktop pc for the last day and have exhausted everything i can think of. The previous router was a linksys WRT54G and it worked fine. However, upon setting up this new router i get a "no internet access" message accompanied by the little yellow triangle and the ability to still connect to my router via its ip address to alter its configuration. The connection status for the network and the internet is identical for all the laptops in my house. I originally attempted setting up the router using Cisco's setup program. At its conclusion, the setup program informs me that i am connected to the router, but my internet connection has been lost (even though it was never there) I have tried starting over from scratch by resetting the router back to its default settings and using a variety of different channels (Auto, 1, 6, and 11), frequencies, etc. I have uninstalled norton antivirus, disarmed the windows security programs, made sure of TCP/IP settings, rolled back, uninstalled, and finally updated firmware, uninstalled/reinstalled driver for wireless card, disabled/enabled the card itself, deleted all other previous network profiles still present in the "Manage Wireless Networks" screen, and probably some other suggestions i came across in this forum. They all failed with the same results, i.e. the ability to connect to the network locally and having no internet access.

My internal network uses 172.17.17.0/24.My PPTP-server is located at 10.192.1.1 and when I connect, I usually get an IP in the 158.37.73.0/24-range. Currently I have 158.37.73.28. So, I have Remote management enabled with HTTP and HTTPS, any IP and default port 8080. But no response from the outside world seems to go through.If I turn of the "filter ICMP" but keep the SPI Firewall on, I get ping reply from external sources towards my router, but still no HTTP or HTTPS response.I also have a Torrent I try to port forward to to be active, this is 23277, and this is the only thing that keeps coming up in the incoming log on my router.
It's not possible to connect to the routers management over the PPTP-tunnel?And why can't I get the port forward to work .. Same reason? PPTP 158.37.73.28 -> 172.17.17.100 (LAN) won't work?

I can connect to it just fine with my laptop however... so I changed it to 192.168.254.1 as per some internet instructions. Still can't connect via my desktop... Tried ipconfig /flushdns to no avail. Cleared the internet cache Upgraded the firmware (via the laptop) rebooted the computer rebooted the router... reset the router... After rebooting the router I can type in the username and password to access the router, but it never connects....

View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot access the WRT610n setup/management pages wirelessly from my Macbook using safari. I can access the router via wireless from iPhone and PC and I can access it from the Macbook via ethernet cable.
When I try to access the router from the Macbook I just get "Contacting..." in the Safari status line and eventually it times out.
I can access the internet using Safari via WRT610n wireless. The only page I can't access is the router's management page.
We have a RV042. remote management is set to DISABLE - but even after restarting the router i can access the interface remotely over the internet.even when i enable it and change the port to say 5555 i can connect to the web interface using either port 5555 but ALSO on port 80.what's wrong here?the only way to stop that was to create a rule that blocks port 80 on the WAN interface. (btw. could this rule affect LAN users when browsing the web?)

In the web interface under administration I have several times set it to something else other than the defaulted 8080 but when the modem is rebooted or reset, it goes back to the default 8080.

The Remote Management Port is not working correctly. For whatever port I set, it will uses port 80 to access.
I'm trying to setup remote access for my linksys 3200 so that I can configure it through the WAN port. I have turned on remote access, however when I try to connect I get a 404 error. The settings I have are:
When I try to access xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9999 I just get a 404 error. I have allowed RDP access to a computer behind the router and this works fine on the same IP address. what else I have to do to allow remote management access?
UPDATE: I tried changing the port to 80 and it works. Change it back to any other number and it doesn't work. Modem is setup with a DMZ to the router's IP. Why does it only work on port 80? BTW I can't use port 80 because there is a website hosted behind the router.

When some one at home using internet I can commetc to the router using remote management. But when everybody out and no internet users at home I cannot connect to the router. I checked with other router from linksys (old one WAG45G or something like this) and it was the same. But it works great whith TP-Link routers.

I have successfully connected the wireless to my laptop and have a guest network that has been tested and works as well. I bought a Sharp Blu Ray player that has wireless capability connected to the TV with HDMI cable and the LAN adapter is in the player. When I had the Blu Ray downstairs I had it connected to the LINKsys thru an ethernet cable and didn't use the adapter, but I wanted to take it upstairs and use it on that TV. I set a password for the web interface then it boots me out and I am promted for the password and username.I don't want to download and configure my router with some poorly written software for my mac; why can't I just do it all through the good old web interface???? I'm able to set everything else up fine but when i set the password I am basically rendering the web interface usless and have to reset the router!! (running Lion, latest build with 8gigs of ram and N wirless adaptor in lappy)
Ok, so I was given this router for free so I shouldn't complain but I do not see any speed increase over my 6 year old 54G rinning wrt, perhaps I need summin better than this $50 walmart special Getting about 10mps download which is also the theoretical max of G right)
