I'v been getting this strange problem. Each 5-10 minutes my internet restarts,it basically shut downs for 20 sec and then reapears, its really annoying because videos take 1 year to load,i cant play any multiplayer games because i get kicked every 5 mins and i cant talk on skype because call crashes each 5 mins.I am using a linksys router.
I've been recently having problems with my modem, the DSL light shuts off even if my cable is correctly connected to my phone socket. This mostly happens when I'm playing games.
All the light indicator of the router are working as they should, however there will be no internet connection. This happens about once a day(rest of the day the internet works fine),I then have to switch off the router, wait for a good amount of time and then switch it back on and then internet will work fine.I use the router for many devices like my windows 7 laptop,an ipad, iphones.
As of two days ago my DIR-655 seems to have stopped loading webpages every 10-30minutes for periods of up to 5-15 minutes, as in they the reloading icon will constantly be circling and the webpage remains blank, no error or anything until it says failed to load on my web browser (tried multiple browsers such as Safari, Chrome, IE and Firefox). This problem occurs on every computer on my network, laptops (both Mac and PC) and desktops. When this problem occurs all lights on modem and router seem to be normal no signs of anything going down but I originally thought that this affected wired and wireless but I seem to have narrowed it to culprit being the wireless. When connected to the PC I can browse for an indefinite amount of time without the webpages failing to respond, however when I connected to WiFi through Airport on a Macbook Air my webpages start to begin failing to load around 5-10 minutes of browsing which affects all computers connected to the network (essentially all computers failing to respond to the internet during this outage).
Interestingly when this problem occurs, if I am connected to Skype or Aim it will stay connected and I can still chat with people but I will not be able to sign onto AIM if the problem occurs before I sign on and I try to sign on during the outage. If I am streaming a video from justin.tv or ustream it still continues to stream during this "outage".I have the revB of the DIR-655 and have tried resetting the modem, turning off the firewall, upgrading firmware to 2.03NA from 2.01NA and setting the MTU to 1400 (default 1500) with nothing working. I am using Time Warner Wideband ISP and have connected the modem directly to my PC and for the 30minutes or so that I tested the web browsing it seemed fine and did not have any errors.
My EA4500 is not working. The power indicator light is on but the green and yellow lights on the Internet port are not flashing and the modem the EA4500 is connected to show no activity on that port. Also, the EA4500 is not broadcasting so I can't even connect to it to use Cisco Connect to troubleshoot. I tried resetting it but it did nothing. This has happened before but is usally fixed with a reset.
we have an RV082 router that a few days ago started restarting itself after normal usage. The simpton is that when people come to office, starting using the Internet the RV082 resets. It stays online for 3 to 12 minutes and then it resets again.
clicking on Reset to Factory Default in the web interfaceafter the reset, I confirmed that it was reset to factory default I reset it again using the reset buttomre-configure the RV082 manually.I also tested with another identical rv082 (hw version and firmware version) and after doing a backup of the config of the original rv082 and restoring it in the new rv082, the same problem happends.
I have a problem where the complete home network disconnects whenever my computer reboots from idle state (either after leaving it for a while so it goes on sleep, or by putting it on sleep mode). It then takes a few (long) minutes for the network, and the internet access to it to reconnect. In the meantime ALL devices in the house (other laptops, ipads etc) lose connection too. It's only my computer which does this, so i'm assuming that there's something wrong with the settings on computer.
Im using a DLINK DIR 615 N series router. It was working fine since few months but recently from past 1 month, my router is keep on getting restarting.Like, it restarts (red light is on) frequently after every 10 seconds, even i can't get so much of time to reconfigure it.
I am currently using a 5508 Cisco WLC with software version 6.0.196.0. It has been running smoothly for the past 1.5 years, but have recently discovered that the WLC will randomly restarts itself. I know this because I have seen the disruptions in our wireless network, as well as seen the Up time counter reset itself. I have tried looking at the trap logs to see if there is any significant network traffic that may be causing this, but from what I can tell there is nothing out of the ordinary. The restarts happen randomly at random times. I have never seen a Cisco device behave this way, not a switch, a router or security appliance for that fact. What may be causing the WLC to just reboot itself?
Have a MacBook and using Firefox. All lights on the router and modem are green. Does the same thing no matter what distance laptop is from router/modem. Seems to do it in 2-3 minute intervals.
I'm renting a basement at the moment and I am trying to get my desktop to connect to their wireless network. My laptop is fine but the desktop just keeps restarting itself when its attempting to connect. This didn't happen before I moved. When it finishes restarting there's a popup asking to send a error report to Windows. Since I have no internet that won't I clicked the details of the error message this is what I see.[CODE]
i have a DIR-601. Basic settings, port forwarded for Xbox live and Wolfenstein enemy territory.I have a home PC with a wired connection and a laptop which is set up through wireless. I installed the game Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory on my laptop and every time I start the game and attempt to fetch a server list, my router resets itself. The game works fine when I connect directly to my modem, but not when I connect to my router
As indicated in the subject, wireless users are finding that it is either unattachable (shows up in the list but fails to attach) or if you manage to authenticate and get in, it's painfully slow or simply drops out. Security is WPA-PSK. Only noticed the issue after a couple of Windows 8 laptops came into the household, but the problem still seems to be there when they are off so not sure if they are connected in some way or not. Updated to the latest firmware - no change. Wired connections are fine and when it's initially restarted, so is the wireless, seems to happen sometime after wireless services are restarted. Only the one Wireless SSID, nothing fancy, max users around 5, all on laptops or the odd pad. I changed channels done narrow wide etc, (using mixed mode - some Wireless N laptops some Wireless B/G. Nothing seems to make any difference. No log entries until the Wireless system is restarted, doesn't require a reboot of the router, just a SUBMIT of the existing wireless settings to force it to restart.
I'm having issue with wireless connection on Belkin router F5D7633-4.Every 1-2 days my router disconnect and reconnect for no apparent reasons. When this happens, it affects it's wifi. All the devices in my house couldn't connect via wireless to this router. The only way to get these devices connected is to manually reboot the router.Do you know how to allow the router to allow many devices connected at same time?
I am running winsxp prodessional.I have a belkin N600 DB Wireless N+ Router and it is hooked up to a vmax 480 security syestem . this system allows me to see the cameras remotely on my ipad, i iphone amd laptop .
my problem is this the router shuts down and restarts( it must be programmed to do this ) and i lose the remote connection to the cameras. if i am home i can unplug the vmax and it will restart and find the router etc however when i am traveling i can not do this.

I have recently purchases a Cisco srp547w for my organisation. It is working fine with one SSID enabled. I have configured everything with no problems using the Web interface. However, whenever I click the Edit button, in the Security column, in the Wireless Table under Basic Wireless Settings I get a pop up message which says :"Some values have been changed. The router must restart the wireless module to take effect. Please wait several seconds" I have tried this using 3 different browsers and get the same behaviour in each browser.
I have a Motorola modem SURFBoard SB4200, along with a wireless Linksys router that connects to that modem. The router works normally but the modem often dies and restarts itself after about 1-2 minutes.
What could be causing this problem? How should I start debugging it?
Could an excessive amount of network traffic be bringing down the modem? Are there any tools that can monitor the modem?
A 4506 Switch reboot several times a day for no reason, I have been trying to upgrade the software . Normal operation of more than ten days , Still there reason to restart . CPU and memory usage is normal

I got myself a weird problem. A few hours ago I installed Blueline's Driverscanner, but after the installation I lost my internet connection. I've checked the networkconnections and it's not in the list anymore. The really weird part is that there is a LED light coming from the cable, indicating it has a connection, but it is not making any.
Today I woke up and wanted to connect to the internet via my laptop. The current network I have is the DSL modem connected to a WR841ND TP-LINK router, and then connected via LAN port to my desktop PC, and via Wi-Fi to a Laptop. However, my connection was unsuccesful. I power cycled both the modem and the router, awaited for a stable connection, and tried again with no result. That's when I noticed the lights on my router seemed strange. While the router's LAN port 1 to the computer was connected and lit, the LAN port 4 was also lit, but it wasn't connected to anything. Then I noticed my wan port showed the same behaviour, since it was already unplugged, but its light was still on.
That's when I decided to do a factory defaults reset, a hard reset, and reuploaded the firmware to the router. No change at all.I decided to connect my DSL modem to the computer directly, and internet works like a charm, so everything points to the router as the source of the problem. Now, I wanted to know. What would be the procedures I should follow to test or repair the router before declaring it "deceased"? Could this be more of a firmware problem? A hardware one?
I have configured a new PC but it does not glowing indicator lights on inserting cable. I tried 10 times using different cables. Installed a fress windows 7 but no lan driver can be found. Later I tried to install Realtek lan driver it gives the error " The realtek network controller was not found. If deep sleep mode is enable please plug in cable".
I have recently bought a homeplug to connect to the internet since my broadband is downstairs from my pc. I have plugged in the two homeplugs and connected them to my pc and broadband with a ethernet cable. When i turn on my pc the ethernet light turns on (same for downstairs) but after installing the software and trying to search for my wifi a message pops up saying "The homeplug adapter has NOT BEEN DETECTED. Please check your computer cables". So i did so, i chnaged the sockect moved the ethernet cable to a diffrent slot and still it says it has not been detected. This is very annoying and i really want to get it fixed.
Would like to enquire regarding 2 x WAP4410N access points that we have installed at our site. These devices work fine with the power brick but when connnected the SG300-28P ports POE lights up, and seems to keep rebooting for some strange reason
After having my modem and router switched off for about 3 hours (removing trojan on one machine) neither of my laptops or Nokia N8 can connect. The LAN is fine, all lights are showing ok on the router, inc WLAN, but no machines can detect the wireless signal?
like today randomly my internet went down. And then everything changed back to its original like my SSID from Netcom it changed back to wireless and everything was default and also the PPP was off so i wasn't able to connect to the internet. So i went to my router setup page on the internet or whatever and turned it back on. So now like the internet on my computer which has a cable to the router works but the wireless internet doesn't work for my laptop nor ipod. I can see the connection on the laptop and ipod but when i try to connect it keeps saying that it is unable to connect.
