Dsl And Internet Lights Off On Modem?
Jun 5, 2011I've been recently having problems with my modem, the DSL light shuts off even if my cable is correctly connected to my phone socket. This mostly happens when I'm playing games.

View 3 RepliesAs of two days ago my DIR-655 seems to have stopped loading webpages every 10-30minutes for periods of up to 5-15 minutes, as in they the reloading icon will constantly be circling and the webpage remains blank, no error or anything until it says failed to load on my web browser (tried multiple browsers such as Safari, Chrome, IE and Firefox). This problem occurs on every computer on my network, laptops (both Mac and PC) and desktops. When this problem occurs all lights on modem and router seem to be normal no signs of anything going down but I originally thought that this affected wired and wireless but I seem to have narrowed it to culprit being the wireless. When connected to the PC I can browse for an indefinite amount of time without the webpages failing to respond, however when I connected to WiFi through Airport on a Macbook Air my webpages start to begin failing to load around 5-10 minutes of browsing which affects all computers connected to the network (essentially all computers failing to respond to the internet during this outage).
Interestingly when this problem occurs, if I am connected to Skype or Aim it will stay connected and I can still chat with people but I will not be able to sign onto AIM if the problem occurs before I sign on and I try to sign on during the outage. If I am streaming a video from justin.tv or ustream it still continues to stream during this "outage".I have the revB of the DIR-655 and have tried resetting the modem, turning off the firewall, upgrading firmware to 2.03NA from 2.01NA and setting the MTU to 1400 (default 1500) with nothing working. I am using Time Warner Wideband ISP and have connected the modem directly to my PC and for the 30minutes or so that I tested the web browsing it seemed fine and did not have any errors.
My F5D8235-4 v.2 N+ suddenly stopped working. The security and modem lights are solid lavender and the storage light is solid amber. The router light is solid blue. Internet has no light.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy EA4500 is not working. The power indicator light is on but the green and yellow lights on the Internet port are not flashing and the modem the EA4500 is connected to show no activity on that port. Also, the EA4500 is not broadcasting so I can't even connect to it to use Cisco Connect to troubleshoot. I tried resetting it but it did nothing. This has happened before but is usally fixed with a reset.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI got myself a weird problem. A few hours ago I installed Blueline's Driverscanner, but after the installation I lost my internet connection. I've checked the networkconnections and it's not in the list anymore. The really weird part is that there is a LED light coming from the cable, indicating it has a connection, but it is not making any.
View 23 Replies View RelatedToday I woke up and wanted to connect to the internet via my laptop. The current network I have is the DSL modem connected to a WR841ND TP-LINK router, and then connected via LAN port to my desktop PC, and via Wi-Fi to a Laptop. However, my connection was unsuccesful. I power cycled both the modem and the router, awaited for a stable connection, and tried again with no result. That's when I noticed the lights on my router seemed strange. While the router's LAN port 1 to the computer was connected and lit, the LAN port 4 was also lit, but it wasn't connected to anything. Then I noticed my wan port showed the same behaviour, since it was already unplugged, but its light was still on.
That's when I decided to do a factory defaults reset, a hard reset, and reuploaded the firmware to the router. No change at all.I decided to connect my DSL modem to the computer directly, and internet works like a charm, so everything points to the router as the source of the problem. Now, I wanted to know. What would be the procedures I should follow to test or repair the router before declaring it "deceased"? Could this be more of a firmware problem? A hardware one?
I have configured a new PC but it does not glowing indicator lights on inserting cable. I tried 10 times using different cables. Installed a fress windows 7 but no lan driver can be found. Later I tried to install Realtek lan driver it gives the error " The realtek network controller was not found. If deep sleep mode is enable please plug in cable".

I have plugged in the two homeplugs and connected them to my pc and broadband with a ethernet cable. When i turn on my pc the ethernet light turns on (same for downstairs) but after installing the software and trying to search for my wifi a message pops up saying "The homeplug adapter has NOT BEEN DETECTED. Please check your computer cables". So i did so, i chnaged the sockect moved the ethernet cable to a diffrent slot and still it says it has not been detected. This is very annoying and i really want to get it fixed.

I came home after a few days vacation to find all the lights blinking on my router. I have tried unplugging and rebooting. Same result. I then bypassed the router and have internet on my main computer so I know it is a router issue. I use the router for my laptop and cell phone. Do I need to figure out how to do a master reset or is the router toast?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a new DIR-615 and tried to install dd-wrt on it. During the installation all of a sudden the router stopped blinking the led lights and stopped responding to anything. It's current status is that I can only see globe LED and the other 4 LAN LEDs in continuous green and NOT blinking. The power LED and wireless LED are not even displaying. I tried all kinds of reset like soft, hard and crash but no response. It's not responding to anything except those 5 LED lights.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI picked up a second hand NETGEAR FS750T switch today for very little as the previous owner said it had stopped working.
After powering it up, there is a small noise for about three seconds. All the lights above the 10/100 ports are solid green and I can't access the web interface when connecting it up to my computer.
What could the problem be? I've heard others with different switch models reporting that all the lights are flashing and replacing the capacitors fixes them.
I've tried the reset and factory reset buttons. The reset just puts all the lights off for the duration of holding it and the factory reset appears to do nothing.
edit: when I turn it on, all the lights and the sound starts immediately. After two seconds, the lights go out. After three seconds, the sound stops and the lights return.
I have a Cisco E4200 router connected behind my Comcast cable modem.
The small LED lights located at each network cable plug-in on my router are continually blinking orange all at the same time over and over.
I also notice on all my computers that are wired to this router the small LED lights near the network card plug-in are also blinking orange.
what these orange lights mean and if I have a problem?
My internet service seems to work OK but I'm not sure what is causing all these orange LED's to blink and is there something wrong that imay be slowing my system down.
I have upgraded my Cisco router to the latest firmware and also power reset my cable modem and router several times with no change in the problem.
There was a problem with one of our servers. We were unable to connect to it remotely. We restarted the server. Still we were unable to communicate with it. Static IP is provided.
In the connections settings, it showed the send and receive as 0. I noticed the network card lights. Both were flashing green in sync, like twice in one second. I removed the cable and funny thing was, it was still blinking non stop in the same way. I plugged the cable back in and took back out, the same result. After a second restart of the server, it started working normally and i was able to communicate with the server.
Today a bought a brand new Netgear WNR2000 router.Upon setup the wifi was working correctly. All of the lights where active and it seemed everything was in order.Because the power cord was in the way I moved it and plugged it into a different powerpoint. From then onwards my router has not been working. Only three of seven lights are active (green).
I have tried unplugging and replugging all network cords. I have also turned it on and back off, reset the router and run the initial installation program thrice. What should I do now? Nothing so far has effected it. The computer I am installing it on is running Windows XP and the laptop I intend to use the wifi on is Windows 7.
I have the Asus P5QL-VM DO motherboard. On the Ethernet port the lights are not working and I can not get an internet connection.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy previous setup was a ProSafe GS108 switch, 10/100 Dlink router/switch used only as a switch, and a DI-655 router/switch. With this setup, activity when I wasn't using any of my computers was zero. There would be no blinking activity lights.
I dumped the ProSafe and 10/100 switch, and use the DI-655 only for my internet uplink and wireless, and now have everything else plugged into a Cisco GS200 switch. There is activity now every two seconds. I presume this prevents the Green energy saving features from kicking in as the ports are in use.
What's the difference that's leading to all this activity that presumably wasn't there before?
I disabled the Bluetooth in my lap but the lights is on why? My laptops is Asus netbook 1015?
