I've checked the networkconnections and it's not in the list anymore. The really weird part is that there is a LED light coming from the cable, indicating it has a connection, but it is not making any.

Whilst internet connection has since been restored I've noticed that there are now orange lights above the port where the ethernet cable connected to on our notebook. I also cannot get internet connection using the ethernet cable. Does this mean my internal modem has blown? I can use the wireless modem with no problems.
If the modem has blown, how much are they usually to replace and is it relatively easy? I have a Inspiron 1525 Notebook.
when i bought the router, the function worked fine, even before my first firmware upgrade. Can CISCO fix this? I tried everything...power off, reboot, etc...that stupid button is not working....
if something as simple doesn't work, what's next on this router to break?
My EA4500 is not working. The power indicator light is on but the green and yellow lights on the Internet port are not flashing and the modem the EA4500 is connected to show no activity on that port. Also, the EA4500 is not broadcasting so I can't even connect to it to use Cisco Connect to troubleshoot. I tried resetting it but it did nothing. This has happened before but is usally fixed with a reset.

I've tried restarting my laptop (it usually works) and then reinstalled the device under "device manager". It's not the cord, I've checked with my neighbor's laptop and it works fine.I use a Sony Vaio VGN-NS140E with Windows Vista SP2.

I have a Dell XPS M1530 with Vista 32 bit. When i plug in a cable i get nothing, no error, and the comp does not recognize that a cable has been plugged in. I think that this started after my Hard drive failed and Dell replaced it but i'm not positive. No errors (? or !) in Device Manager and I can't find the Marvell 88E80XX 10/100 Ethernet Controller in device manager. I have attempted to Reinstall the drivers. The wireless is still working. I have one Light to the right of the port that is on all the time solid but no flashing with the cable in or out.

View 2 Replies View Relatedif I can use the encrypted port as unencrypted ethernet ports? url.. Each individual port on the Cisco Nexus 5010 switch is numbered, and groups of ports are numbered based on their function. The ports are numbered top to bottom and left to right. There are 20 to 28 ports on the Cisco Nexus 5010 switch, depending on which GEM is installed.
The 20 fixed ports form group 1 and are named 1/port_number. Ports 1 through 16 are unencrypted Ethernet ports. Of these, ports 1 through 8 are 10-Gigabit Ethernet and 1-Gigabit Ethernet-capable ports. Ports 17 through 20 are encryption-capable Ethernet ports.
I have a Cisco 857 router which i used for Internet connection with RJ11 connectior (ADSL0 POTS) but now the ISP has changed the internet link with PPOE type and the ONT connection is RJ45 , Is there a possibility to configure one os the Fast Ethernet ports as WAN port for internet.

I am quite a bit rusty from my days of networking. I am trying to setup my lab so I purchased 3 cisco 2501 to study for my CCNA, my question is? I have 2 serial interfaces and 1 AUI for ethernet on each router. How can I configure the Ethernet interface, if I don't see it on the configuration. From the CLI command I issue the command show ip int brief. But It only shows the 2 serials but no E0 interface.
PS. I do have an Ethernet Transceiver connected to the AUI port on the router with a straight through cable going into a 2950 switch.
Is it possible my Laptop Ethernet port is dead? After I got home today I noticed that the store that passed by caused a short power outage. I knew this because several electronic devices that rely on constant power were reset.Next to be noticed was that my computer had no connection to the internet, and my Ethernet port has a constant orange light on.I proceeded to perform a full network restart for my modem, router, and computer. This solved the internet connection to my router. My roommate was able to connect via an Ethernet cable to the internet on any of the routers ports, but I was still unable. However,I was able to connect to the wireless on my computer. Unfortunately no matter what port, or cable I use my Ethernet port still is unresponsive to it all, and still has the constant orange light.you.Specs:Manufacturer: Gateway

The green light on my Ethernet port is always on. Even when I unplug the Ethernet cable and shut down my computer. The only way it turns off is when I unplug my computer from the outlet. Also, my computer doesn't receive any internet when an Ethernet cable is plugged in and the yellow flashing light doesn't show either. I know the Ethernet cable is fine and the internet works fine on other computers

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe ethernet ports across the entire campus including the halls all host multiple networks via one port. I connect to the port and I get one connection, and my friend connects to get a second connection through the same port, and a third person connected via the same port to get yet another connection. I think there may be 4 connections being hosted through this in total. Now, the university have 3 main streams of internet: 1 for Staff/postgrad, 1 for students, 1 for exchange students. The fourth connection type is intranet with only access to a portal. The purpose of the portal is to submit your mac address for wireless and ethernet to be assigned an IP address for both. The issue we are having is my friend needs to connect to the exchange students connection for actual internet access, but the ethernet cable will only connect her to the portal (all her details have been submitted). I have cycled through every window in the networking control panel and usually issues like this I can resolve within a couple of hours but how to identify other networks that are available through ethernet.

windows xp
xbox 360
powerphone voip adapter
Here is my setup:
TWC / RR cable modem to 655
655 port to xp machine
655 port to voip adapter
655 wireless to 1522
1522 port to xbox 360
I am no guru but managed to get all this working about 6 months ago. Other than some TWC outages it has been fine.Couple days back the XP stopped seeing the net. It could still see the LAN. The voip adapter and 1522 / xbox 360 still work fine. Here is what I have tried:
Plugged XP in 1522, worked fine.
Plugged XP directly into cable modem, worked fine.
Plugged XP into port the voip is working on, did not work.
Tried other 3 ports on 655, did not work.
Since the XP machine works with the 1522 and cable modem I am assuming the XP machine is not the problem.Since the voip adapter works on the 655 ports I am assuming the ports are not the problem.
I recently installed Arkham City on my computer played it for a while, tried google chrome, gave me a corrupt profile error or something (internet still worked and was connected at the time) restarted my computer and now it's telling me there isn't an ethernet cable connected to my computer.
Here's what I tried so far:
-Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver
-Updating the driver
-Using the network troubleshooting for windows 7
-Doing a system restore before I installed the game (gave me an error saying could not complete restore)
-Currently scanning my computer in safe mode with networking (seeing if that might work, doesn't) with malewarebytes
-Unplugged and replugged the router and modem
-Checked the router on another computer to see if there's a connection (there is none)
-Checked the router to see if there is a light in the port connected to the ethernet, it's blinking at a very slow a steady pace, unlike the ones around it which are solid green lights
-Tried the ethernet cable on another computer, works fine.

I've been having an issue with my internet connection. I have AT&T Uverse high speed internet, complete with the Motorola NVG510 ADSL modem. For the past couple weeks, my download speeds have gone from 1.0 MB/s to < 100 KB/s up to 400 KB/s if I'm lucky.I used to be able to download files and watch videos at the same time with very little trouble, but now I only have enough bandwidth to either do one or the other without causing any problems. I thought my ISP had throttled my bandwidth, but I've run the Glasnost tests at url... and it came back as fine.It may not mean anything, but I should note that a few weeks ago, we had storms move through the area and lightning struck our house. It ended up shocking my mom through the USB mouse while she was using my computer, it blew out one of my computer speakers, and I believe it's the reason why the ethernet port on my motherboard no longer works.

Even when doing this the net seems to be very slow, won't connect through Chrome etc or just flat out won't connect.
