D-Link DIR-615 :: All Lights Blinking Including Power?
Jul 11, 2012I came home after a few days vacation to find all the lights blinking on my router. I have tried unplugging and rebooting. Same result. I then bypassed the router and have internet on my main computer so I know it is a router issue. I use the router for my laptop and cell phone. Do I need to figure out how to do a master reset or is the router toast?

Jan 29, 2012I bought a new DIR-615 and tried to install dd-wrt on it. During the installation all of a sudden the router stopped blinking the led lights and stopped responding to anything. It's current status is that I can only see globe LED and the other 4 LAN LEDs in continuous green and NOT blinking. The power LED and wireless LED are not even displaying. I tried all kinds of reset like soft,hard and crash but no response. It's not responding to anything except those 5 LED lights.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Stops Responding To Internet But Modem / Router Lights Fine
Jul 29, 2011As of two days ago my DIR-655 seems to have stopped loading webpages every 10-30minutes for periods of up to 5-15 minutes, as in they the reloading icon will constantly be circling and the webpage remains blank, no error or anything until it says failed to load on my web browser (tried multiple browsers such as Safari, Chrome, IE and Firefox). This problem occurs on every computer on my network, laptops (both Mac and PC) and desktops. When this problem occurs all lights on modem and router seem to be normal no signs of anything going down but I originally thought that this affected wired and wireless but I seem to have narrowed it to culprit being the wireless. When connected to the PC I can browse for an indefinite amount of time without the webpages failing to respond, however when I connected to WiFi through Airport on a Macbook Air my webpages start to begin failing to load around 5-10 minutes of browsing which affects all computers connected to the network (essentially all computers failing to respond to the internet during this outage).
Interestingly when this problem occurs, if I am connected to Skype or Aim it will stay connected and I can still chat with people but I will not be able to sign onto AIM if the problem occurs before I sign on and I try to sign on during the outage. If I am streaming a video from justin.tv or ustream it still continues to stream during this "outage".I have the revB of the DIR-655 and have tried resetting the modem, turning off the firewall, upgrading firmware to 2.03NA from 2.01NA and setting the MTU to 1400 (default 1500) with nothing working. I am using Time Warner Wideband ISP and have connected the modem directly to my PC and for the 30minutes or so that I tested the web browsing it seemed fine and did not have any errors.

Jul 28, 2011I just purchased a Cisco SF 102-24 unmanaged 100 series swith with a MGBSX1 mini-Gbic converter. My goal is to connect this to a building that is connected with a Black Box LH1706A-ST media converter that has 100mb ST fiber connections. In my testing the Black Box shows both a Fiber link and RJ45 port link at 100mb, but the MGBSX1 does not show any link lights or traffic. So a computer connected to the Cisco switch is not able to communicate over the fiber connection.
Can the MGBSX1 be connected to a media converter that only has 10/100 ST fiber connectors?

It would be much easier if we could say "Connect it to the empty port which just started blinking orange" as the port numbers are difficult for them to see in these locations.A similar feature is available in the ethtool package for linux which makes it really easy for identifying ports on servers. It would be great if a similar feature is available on Cisco switches.

Nov 7, 2012Today I woke up and wanted to connect to the internet via my laptop. The current network I have is the DSL modem connected to a WR841ND TP-LINK router, and then connected via LAN port to my desktop PC, and via Wi-Fi to a Laptop.However, my connection was unsuccesful. I power cycled both the modem and the router, awaited for a stable connection, and tried again with no result.That's when I noticed the lights on my router seemed strange. While the router's LAN port 1 to the computer was connected and lit, the LAN port 4 was also lit, but it wasn't connected to anything. Then I noticed my wan port showed the same behaviour, since it was already unplugged, but its light was still on.
That's when I decided to do a factory defaults reset, a hard reset, and reuploaded the firmware to the router. No change at all.I decided to connect my DSL modem to the computer directly, and internet works like a charm, so everything points to the router as the source of the problem.Now, I wanted to know. What would be the procedures I should follow to test or repair the router before declaring it "deceased"? Could this be more of a firmware problem? A hardware one?

Feb 1, 2013I picked up a second hand NETGEAR FS750T switch today for very little as the previous owner said it had stopped working.
After powering it up, there is a small noise for about three seconds. All the lights above the 10/100 ports are solid green and I can't access the web interface when connecting it up to my computer.
What could the problem be? I've heard others with different switch models reporting that all the lights are flashing and replacing the capacitors fixes them.
I've tried the reset and factory reset buttons. The reset just puts all the lights off for the duration of holding it and the factory reset appears to do nothing.
edit: when I turn it on, all the lights and the sound starts immediately. After two seconds, the lights go out. After three seconds, the sound stops and the lights return.
E4200 - LED Lights On Router Keep Blinking Orange?
May 1, 2013I have a Cisco E4200 router connected behind my Comcast cable modem.
The small LED lights located at each network cable plug-in on my router are continually blinking orange all at the same time over and over.
I also notice on all my computers that are wired to this router the small LED lights near the network card plug-in are also blinking orange.
what these orange lights mean and if I have a problem?
My internet service seems to work OK but I'm not sure what is causing all these orange LED's to blink and is there something wrong that imay be slowing my system down.
I have upgraded my Cisco router to the latest firmware and also power reset my cable modem and router several times with no change in the problem.

Jul 10, 2011There was a problem with one of our servers. We were unable to connect to it remotely. We restarted the server. Still we were unable to communicate with it. Static IP is provided.
In the connections settings, it showed the send and receive as 0. I noticed the network card lights. Both were flashing green in sync, like twice in one second. I removed the cable and funny thing was, it was still blinking non stop in the same way. I plugged the cable back in and took back out, the same result. After a second restart of the server, it started working normally and i was able to communicate with the server.

May 23, 2012Today a bought a brand new Netgear WNR2000 router.Upon setup the wifi was working correctly. All of the lights where active and it seemed everything was in order.Because the power cord was in the way I moved it and plugged it into a different powerpoint. From then onwards my router has not been working. Only three of seven lights are active (green).
I have tried unplugging and replugging all network cords. I have also turned it on and back off, reset the router and run the initial installation program thrice.What should I do now?
