i have a laptop that has a wireless button on the front and every time i try to click it to turn it on, it wont even blink. On the wireless networks, all it says is hat no connections are available. get my wireless network button on my laptop to turn on somehow?

View 7 Replies View RelatedAny method of forcing a non connected switch port LED to blink for a certain number of times regardless if there is anything connected.The purpose of this is we have remote 3750 switch stacks and quite often have to tell non technical staff to patch to a certain port. It would be much easier if we could say "Connect it to the empty port which just started blinking orange" as the port numbers are difficult for them to see in these locations.A similar feature is available in the ethtool package for linux which makes it really easy for identifying ports on servers. It would be great if a similar feature is available on Cisco switches.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust installed windows 8 on this laptop, everything is working fine, it has all the drivers etc. It does not seem to be picking up wireless for some reason. When I press the quick launch button for wireless absolutely nothing is happening, however it can pick up internet with the ethernet cable from the modem. Had a read of this and tried to install the FSC Launch Manager from the Fujitsu website still to no avail. Cant be the operating system either as it the same problem arose when i install a version of xp yesterday.

The orange light turns blue. Even though the light indicates that my wireless is on, I have to go to device manager>networking>802.11n>advanced then activate my radio for my laptop to pick up the wireless signals. The problem is that I have to do this every time I turn on my laptop, and its getting quite repetitive.

I read in the user manual that it is best to turn off the router when not in use for better security measures, but there in no power button on the router. So does this mean that the power cord would have to be unplugged from the electrical outlet each time to turn the router off? This is kind of inconvenient, especially where my cord is plugged in. Also would unplugging it from the outlet each time, would this mess up the settings on the router? Is it really necessary to turn it off?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was given this router (it's my 3rd one) and cannot get the reset button to reset the password. I have run throught a 30/30/30 reset as well as just holding the button in for the standard 30 seconds.
I know the router works, as in i can ping it. It asks for a password when i go to 192.168.1.1, but *blank* and "admin" do not work. When i click the cancel button it displays a pink(salmon) screen that says "401 Unauthorized Authrization required". (all of this is when i am connected to it with an ethernet cable to #1)
When it's sitting there it has an led lit over power and one ove wlan which flickers from time to time.
