All the light indicator of the router are working as they should,however there will be no internet connection.This happens about once a day(rest of the day the internet works fine),I then have to switch off the router,wait for a good amount of time and then switch it back on and then internet will work fine.I use the router for many devices like my windows 7 laptop,an ipad,iphones.

As of two days ago my DIR-655 seems to have stopped loading webpages every 10-30minutes for periods of up to 5-15 minutes, as in they the reloading icon will constantly be circling and the webpage remains blank, no error or anything until it says failed to load on my web browser (tried multiple browsers such as Safari, Chrome, IE and Firefox). This problem occurs on every computer on my network, laptops (both Mac and PC) and desktops. When this problem occurs all lights on modem and router seem to be normal no signs of anything going down but I originally thought that this affected wired and wireless but I seem to have narrowed it to culprit being the wireless. When connected to the PC I can browse for an indefinite amount of time without the webpages failing to respond, however when I connected to WiFi through Airport on a Macbook Air my webpages start to begin failing to load around 5-10 minutes of browsing which affects all computers connected to the network (essentially all computers failing to respond to the internet during this outage).
Interestingly when this problem occurs, if I am connected to Skype or Aim it will stay connected and I can still chat with people but I will not be able to sign onto AIM if the problem occurs before I sign on and I try to sign on during the outage. If I am streaming a video from justin.tv or ustream it still continues to stream during this "outage".I have the revB of the DIR-655 and have tried resetting the modem, turning off the firewall, upgrading firmware to 2.03NA from 2.01NA and setting the MTU to 1400 (default 1500) with nothing working. I am using Time Warner Wideband ISP and have connected the modem directly to my PC and for the 30minutes or so that I tested the web browsing it seemed fine and did not have any errors.
I had the router working fine then last night for some reason it dropped 2-3 (all of them currently on) internet, while online.I can connect wireless just fine to the router but get no internet, when i plugged into the router directly i still go internet, but when i connect the modem directly into the laptop i get internet so it is not the modem. I have tried to reboot the router and modem to no avail.i can access the routers page wirelessly and change stuff but just don't get any internet and the signal strength is excellent.

I've gone through my troubleshooting and the wifi light is on, so that's not the issue. I also updated my driver (says it's working fine) and even tried to uninstall and reinstall it. I am not sure what else to do. If I try to connect via wifi though, the computer recognizes all the available networks, including my own, but just won't connect. This cable is plugged into a wireless router, which in turn is plugged into a modem giving it Internet. So yes I understand this part. But on my new computer it says "Not connected, and no connections available." I then plug the computer directly into the modem, I in turn receive Internet beautifully and quite quickly. But I cannot keep it like this because I need the wireless router for other devices. So I set everything up back the way it was and my other devices work! Even other plugged in one's that aren't wireless, but still not this new computer.. What do I do

The power indicator light is on but the green and yellow lights on the Internet port are not flashing and the modem the EA4500 is connected to show no activity on that port. Also, the EA4500 is not broadcasting so I can't even connect to it to use Cisco Connect to troubleshoot. I tried resetting it but it did nothing. This has happened before but is usally fixed with a reset.

We have another wireless router in the upstairs which gets internet through the wall port and it works fine.We had another downstairs wireless router in the living room that was working fine as well, but I reset it for certain reasons and it no longer works properly. All the proper lights light up: internet, port, power but the computer can only connect to the network and not the internet for some reason.

-I'm connecting to a Linksys WRT610N router via a wireless USB adaptor, Netgear WNDA3100v2;
-Service is Time Warner Roadrunner cable;
-There is no IP conflict as I've got DHCP range set from .200-.249 and this machine's static is .100;
-All the other devices in the house are on static starting with .101 up and they all work fine, both wired and wirelessly;
-Can see and connect to all devices in the LAN, including the router, but nothing outside

I can connect wirelessly but I need to connect wired as well. My IP when I am only using a wire starts as 169..I know this typically means there is a problem with my router, however, due to the fact that my laptop can use the wire router perfectly fine but my computer doesn't I am at a loss. My service seems fine as my cable/VOIP telephone/wifi work great. I'm not sure how to detect my ISP settings. In 'device manager' it shows that the teredo tunneling adapter will not start. Couldn't connect to mobile hotspot but could connect to other networks, none of which were from a phone. When attempting to connect to hotspot, my phone displays the information of my computer as name unknown, IP address 0.0.0.0, but gives a MAC address. (My computer has a name, I can't find my IP address, idk what a MAC address is)I tried using remote desktop connection, but the computer I was trying to connect to couldn't find mine.
To be honest, I'm not sure I did it correctly, though.Displayed as 0.0.0.0 on phone when attempting to connect to mobile hotspot.I typed ipconfig in command prompt but got nothing about an IP address. There were several lines that began with "Tunnel adapter" all followed by "Media State : Media Disconnected" then "Connection-specific DNS Suffix: I currently have no internet connection (I'm on my phone), so I can't find it that way either.
Under Network Location it specifies that it cannot connect to MEMORYCARD (\EPSON00) (Z:) and upon clicking on it I receive an error message: "Microsoft Windows Network: The network path was not found. This connection has not been restored."I've spilled water on my keyboard before, but this took place after these problems arose. I dried the computer and had it sit with rice for 2 days. The only issue that came of this incident that I am aware of was a few stuck keys.
I can go to the public library and log on without a hitch, but at a coffee house or cafe I can not connect. Sometimes it says 'cannot validate..' and sometimes it just says 'unable to connect to wireless network' What gives?

It doesn't say it was disconnected, it just stops.Wireless has been working just fine the past few days.) We have used a desktop computer with this type of setup before and it worked just fine, that desktop was like a 2001 Dell that could barely stay on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo,I'm living in a university campus and I've got an internet connection via a proxy server.The thing is,when ever I plug in the network cable,my PC recognizes the network,but the little network tray says "No internet access". But the curious thing is that the internet actualy works.My browser works,I can access any website (well,except the restricted ones via proxy) but it works just like any other internet connection in the campus. But,recently I've got my hands on a VPN account to have access to things that my proxy wouldn't allow me (torrents for example).But,probably because of that "No internet access" problem,when ever I try to make that VPN account,it tells me that I need to connect to the internet first. I already am,but my PC still keeps requiring an internet connection.I can't manualy connect to it,since I don't have the ISP data required. I've only got my VPN account data (VPN username and password).
This is kind of annoying,since this only happens to me,my other room mates don't have this problem,they plug in their cables,their network adapters recognize both the network and the internet access. OS:Win7 and ASUS Express Gate I am using the ISP for over a year and was happy but for past 1 month got issues.
The first service engineer came and changed the poer adapter, clipped the ethernet LAN cable. The AI NET 2 utility in BIOS showed the pair 1-2 and 3-4 are short. So second service engineer changed the cable, power adapter and router.
I hoped that things will get resolved but still the speed was slower so the enginner unplugged the LAN cable from my desktop and checked the speed in his laptop. He was getting 2.5Mbps. Then I checked in safe mode with networking and asus express gate but still got reduced speed from 500 to 600kbps.
I had a NIC replacement so tested with that also and got same reduced speed.
I was using the Internet fine lastnight switched on my acer laptop this morning and wasnt connected to the router. I tried connecting but it just fails. I'm still able to connect with my iPad and iPod. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter however this fails to successfully install. I've searched for hours but can't find a solution. I'm also unable to reset the router etc because I live in china and the router is in a roommates room whose door is locked.

My wireless router is downstairs in the living room and my desktop PC is upstairs in the bedroom. Theoretically, My PC's wireless card should be able to reach the router perfectly, being as I have several other PC's in the house that I use from my bedroom and the connection is 'Very Good' to 'Excellent'. Although with this new computer the connection's strength is very weak and it's so slow using the internet or trying to download things. It's internet is almost unusable. I've tried swapping the wireless card, but to avail. The connection is still awful.
Or of a way to boost the signal of my wireless card?
I have a printer connected to another computer (Win XP) and it wasn't showing up on the network so I followed some installation process to install a network driver or something. Now the printer is working fine. BUT... Now that computer is having internet problems. It connects to the internet fine but some programs say it doesn't. Like Microsoft Outlook. A message always shows up saying "Must work offline" or something. And I cant listen to some things on the internet because a message comes up saying you must connect to the internet.
