I have an Inspiron One 2305. Upgraded from Win7 to Win8x64 now wireless doesn't work. Hardwire works fine. Ran wireless for a day, while hooking up as a Homegroup. Now it sees the router but won't connect.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron One 2305 All in One computer that has worked great until about two days ago. When trying to access the Internet, we get a Server Not Available message, then start the troubleshooting as listed on the screen... It says that the "Default Gateway is Not Available" and then continues to reset things until the computer works OK on the Internet... It will work fine for an hour or a day then do the same thing again. The computer is connected to a router and all of the other computers in the house using the routers wireless function without a problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded a relatives Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop from Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit! To Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit. Previously this was connected wireless to a netgear router. On upgrading the OS i have found that the previous network is no longer showing up in the list of avalible networks even though a number of other devices can still connect and see the broacast of the SSID. As other networks are showing up and the laptop can succesfully connect to others I dont see this as being a driver issue. I have checked the router configuration for broadcast of SSID and MAC filtering. My next step will be to connect the router and laptop via ethernet.

I recently upgraded to Windows 8 with my XPS 16. I know the Intel R 5150 is not working right with Windows 8 just like everyone else I've seen post on various sites when they upgraded. My concern is.. when is there gonna be an updated driver!? You would think if Windows was gonna make it available to upgrade your OS to 8 that they would have all this straitened out. Now I have to get rid of 8 just so I can have WiFi!

At first attempt, I followed the instruction on the CD. It took forever, and ended up giving me the notorious "Error 211".
I then tried the different solutions. First this one: [URL] The difference however being that the card indeed was found and identified properly by the device manager. Installed the downloaded drivers manually, but if I remember correctly (this was a few hours ago) it timed out and I got a message the device wasn't properly installed.
[URL] Here I couldn't even perform the first step, since I couldn't even remove the drivers! The process of uninstalling drivers gets stuck, and I waited for over an hour, and eventually decided to just rip the USB dongle out. That stopped the uninstalling process. Refitted the USB dongle in the computer, and the network device showed up the same way as it did before.
So, what apperas to be the case is that the device seems to have the proper drivers installed, but for some reason it cannot communicate properly with the computer. I can see it in the device manager; I can see the properties and even change the settings. However, I cannot uninstall it, remove it (with the Remove USB Device dialogue) or access it in any other way - it becomes completely unresponsive and if anything happens, it times out. The card does not show up in the list of avaliable network devices. The blue diode on the dongle lights, and sometimes flashes as if it was working.

I have spent over 6 hours trying to download the driver for the wusb54gsc ver. 2 software for win7 x64. Your us site is taking over 20 minutes to show it's pages (Sometimes over 40 mins, get more servers!) but the uk site is quick. I search for "wusb54gsc" on Bing and all the sites give me drivers for everything but the 54gsc. Your site (uk) only gave me the user guides! The last time your software decided to just disappear I found it in less than a half hour! I'm very upset link or URL to download the driver from or are you restricting access to it.

I tested it in an old notebook I have under XP and worked flawlessly. So, I then tested it in XP mode on the I7 and it worked as well. I've used the latest Cisco drivers but no luck under Windows 7. I have been experiencing quite a bit of wireless problems with my Inspiron 17R SE. Only about half the time can I connect to my router and even then it only stays connected for a couple hours. It seems intermittent and the problem will go away for a week or so, but right now it is back in full force. Typically it will either connect and say that there is limited connectivity or it won't connect at all. Resetting the adapter via the Windows 7 troubleshooter only fixes it about half the time.
The thing is that the wireless and everything else works just fine on my Ubuntu partition, which makes me think that my driver is a bit wonky. I have tried downloading the one directly from Dell, and that has come to no avail. I have even tried using the Dell software support suite, and that hasn't found anything wrong either.

It takes long times to load and routinely drops or stutters in its connection, which makes online gameplay very inefficient if not impossible. Prior to this, it was running fine.My wife's netbook and my work laptop both run normally and fine off the connection. The ping rates for those computer, tested at the exact same time as my desktop, are both good while my desktop's ping and jitter are horrible. So I have the feeling it is not really a networking issue, but more something with the wireless card or another issue with my desktop itself. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 531, probably about 3 years old, which as I mentioned ran fine with the wireless before. I am running Vista. In the past several months, the computer fan would kick in really hard and often at graphically intense moments though it doesn't do it any more (yes, it is still running at normal speed), so I'm not sure if the card itself was overheated and damaged? Since the others run fine?

I have had problems with this laptop ever since i recieved it, i have an old laptop with a worse card which picks up my signal perfectly fine and the speed and signal stays constant. With this inspiron 1545 with a "even better" wireless card i have many problems:,losing signal,poor signal strength and quality,speeds going from decent to slower than dial up,I will be checking this as often as possible.

Every time I try I get an error the the network adapter isn't found. The trouble shooter can't even fix it.
