View 1 RepliesI need to install a HWIC-2Fe card onto the Cisco 3845 motherboard. Do I need to power down the router for this installation? Also I had a few more queries in regards to 3845 routers.
1) DO C3845 routers support insertion and removal of Network modules while powered on?
2) Do C3845 routers support insertion and removal of Power supply (redundant one)?
3) Is it the case that all Network modules which need to be inserted onto the motherboard require the router to be powered down?
4) If there is a need to replace the Network module from a particular slot with a new one (same make), powering down the router is not required?
I currently have a VSS setup on 2 6509-E using 2x VS-S720-10G.Today I tried to install 2x X6708-10G-3CXL, one into each chassis. The first log message I got was that fan tray was going into high-speed mode, is this correct?I then installed the second card in the 2nd chassis and it killed my VSS and proceed to reload the switches. it now also appears to have killed one of my WS-X6724-SFP cards, as it no-longer boots and I get the following errors:
000249: Jan 8 12:52:34.201 GMT: %DIAG-SW1_SP-3-MAJOR: Switch 1 Module 1: Online Diagnostics detected a Major Error. Please use 'show diagnostic result <target>' to see test results.000250: Jan 8 12:52:34.205 GMT: %CONST_DIAG-SW1_SP-3-BOOTUP_TEST_FAIL: Switch 1 Module 1: TestLoopback
Also I can't read any of the log files in 'bootflash diaginfo' as it says the file doesn't exist.Everytime I know re-insert the WS-X6724-SFP cards it kills the VSS
I just recently purchased a dell latitude E6400 laptop and I did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on it, not an upgrade. I also installed service pack 1 right after the OS install. My problem is I cannot find a single driver that allows my WiFi card/connection to show up in Windows. I have been browsing the internet like a fiend and cannot find a single driver or solution anywhere for this. Every install or driver I try either shows an error saying "incompatable" or just does not fix the issue. All I want is my WiFi card to work, and dell did not have any drivers that worked off of its support site even when I put in my service tag number. compatable driver for the WiFi card for windows 7 64bit? Or steer me in the right direction to get the WiFi working on my laptop?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe first is I have a laptop running XP with a Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card built in to it. But for some reason when I'm using that wireless connector my computer won't connect to my router and give me a 192.168.0.x address, it gives me a regular IP address. I can surf the net and everything but I can't access files on other computers. But from it it'll allow me to connect to the router admin fine.Whenever I put the mac address in to my DHCP setting on my router it comes up * RESERVED INACTIVE * and never gives my laptop a local ip address. The other problem is on my 192.168.0.2 computer I've tried to set up port forwarding but it won't open the ports. My router is a Motorola SBG6580 provided by my cable company. This particular computer is connected by Ethernet and not Wifi if that makes a difference.

Firmware Version : 0.6.0 0.11 v000c.0 Build 121203 Rel.46289n
ISP : Virgin Media
Is there any way of forwarding an external port to a different internal port on the TD-8970 ?I saw a question posed on an Australian forum implying that it might be provided in a later firmware release. Our TD- 8970 has replaced a previous NetGear WAG 320N which had this facility, and is useful to provide access to multiple machines without having to modify each individually to use a different port.
Is it possible to create a service which will forward public port 9010 to an internal IP address with port 23 ?
First of all, I do not like to open the public Telnet port to the inside so I would use another public port and second my ISP does not allow some public ports beneath port 80
I recently install Windows8 Enterprise build 9200 on my Dell XPS L502X and everything is working fine so far except my modem. In device manager its installed properly but the network manager doesn't list it as an option to connect to (as it usually would in win7),

Have a Rev. B1 w/207NA on Time Warner with a Moto Surfboard SB5150.Working with TiVo's, we've been through hell and back trying to resolve why Multi Room Viewing doesn't seem to want to work - but only one way! The newest TiVo's their Premiere model with HD and all the bells and whistles, it sees the other TiVo and all the other software that can send programs back and forth with it.
I brought on a Series 2, which is an older model that's non HD and has some older software in it. While the Premiere and the other PC's/Software around the building's network can 'see' the Series 2 and it can 'see' the other shared PC's, etc. the thing can't 'see' the Premiere. This has been going on for awhile, I've worked with TiVo Support also to unlock ports, IP addresses and anything else we could think of. Still no luck. Then we had a strange occurance!
The DIR-655 seemed to 'lock up' or disconnect from the Net. One day I was surfing the Now Playing menu in the Series 2 and the other TiVo wasn't showing as usual. I checked it again during a commercial for something totally different and suddenly noticed there it was!! I thought it was weird, so I went out front to check with the person using the main TiVo if they had made any changes or done anything - they hadn't, but did mention their Net connection was gone.
I turned around and looked at the 655's status lights and noticed while all the rest were fine - the WAN/Net status light was totally out. Not a single blink. And then I looked at the Moto cable modem and noticed it's 'activity' light was also totally dormant. I twisted the Moto to get a better look at it and things started working again, I tightened the cable modem cable on the rear and that was it.
From that point on - once again, the front TiVo won't show on the back TiVo! Does every other way, but not that. In our discussions on TiVo we thought it could've been the cable modem firewall or something, but I retested it and this time it had NO effect. Tried not only taking out the cable-cable but the Ethernet cable as well to ensure all were tested. Still didn't now up. What I thought was going on was the 655 had turned into a giant 'Hub', which would've caused the TiVo's to use their old-fashioned Beacon software to 'find' each other. When the 655 software kicked back in from that glitch, the hub setup would've obviously stopped and the 655's software settings would've kicked back in.
I have a complete list of the ports internally that need to be open for those two TiVo's to communicate, but I can't find anything in the 2.07NA GUI (or Help manuals) that tell me how to write a rule to open those ports internally. I wouldn't think there's any internal blocking or firewalling going on (I have it set to allow communications between clients on the internal Net) but there's so many settings in this GUI it makes your head spin!
I have been asked to "forward a port on an ASA 5505 to an internal ip address." Sounds easy for most of you, and I thought I did it right, but I am not certain. Basically, they want it set up so that when xx.xx.xx.xx:30000 (x's = the firewall ip with port 30000) is accessed from outside, it is forwarded to an internal ip on port 30000 (xxx.xxx.x.xxx:30000)
Here is what I tried from within ASDM 6.4:
1. NAT Rules-add static NAT route:
original-Interface: inside
-Source: xx.xx.xx.xx (local ip of computer on LAN they wish to access from outside)
Translated - Interface - Use Interface IP Address
Enable PAT: Original and Translated port both set to 30000
2. Access Rule - add
Interface: Inside
Source: any
Destination: xx.xx.xx.xx (IP of Firewall)
Service: tcp/30000
I want to have my port 4 on the asa 5505 only allow access to the internet and not the internal network, what do i need to do?

Everything works properly from the outside, but if I get my Mail server (on port 443) from the internal network (192.168.1.xxx) there 'verse. This configuration is called Nat inside-to-inside is done by default by some SOHO routers(such as the TPLINK from 25 euros) but Cisco did not succeed. I search on the internet for 2 days without a get nowhere. PS: I have a Cisco 1801 router. (or 1941 as another router).

nat mapadd intf=Internet outside_addr=208.67.222.220 inside_addr=192.168.1.66 protocol=udp outside_port=5353-5353 inside_port=53-53 mode=auto weight=10
I'd like to setup a WCCP in those routers, but as I read, it's not possible.
Another way to circumvent this limitation is to foward a request to the router from the LAN port 80 to a LAN IP, something like:
LAN 1 192.168.1.100:80 -> router -> LAN 2 192.168.1.101:80
Wireless card is Dell Wirele4ss 1490 Dual Band WLAN Mini-Card
Each time I try to launch the Dell WLAN Utility I get a message:
"Internal configuration is inconsistent. Please restart the machine to resolve the problem."
Restarting does not solve the problem.
The wireless card connects fine with Windows managing the connection. But what about the Dell Utility? What can be done so it will launch and I can let it manage the wireless connections?

Unfortunatly I wasn't able to find a solution for this issue in the offical Nexus documentation, the search function of this forum or Google. If I did miss something or didn't look careful enough at the Nexus docs, I'm also happy with RTFM (... fine manual) responses and links to the info :-)

Usually, if the wifi is turned on, there is a green light flashing in the back which tells me it is picking up or searching for a signal. And once I turned it on, it had started working again. So I played on it a bit and got off. But when I went to turn it on today, it wont pick up any signals. My router is working perfectly fine since I'm typing this on my iPad.

Howothers wireless is performing on their 14z? There is nothing wrong with the router or internet connection.
