Dell :: XPS 15 Wireless Stopped Working?
Jul 12, 2013I have XPS 15 laptop. It has worked great for over a year and a half. Suddenly last Friday the wireless stopped working. All other devices are working fine using the same wireless including a dell Inspiron laptop. I installed Intel WiFi driver version 15.2.0.19, A02, flushed the dns, but cannot get it to work.

Apr 17, 2012My network card went bad. So I replaced the card with a Dynex Gigabit card and it seemed to work. Used the computer that day but the next day the computer wouldn't power up. So I checked the computer, the cabel, the plug, etc.. I pulled the new network card and the computer powered up just fine but no internet. Well, I thought, must be gremlins and re-installed the network card. Again, the computer wouldn't power up. So I spoke to Dynex technical support and the guy I spoke to suggested that the card might be a bad card. So I got a second Dynex card; replaced that and same thing; computer wouldn't power up. If I fiddle with the card (pull and re-set) the computer starts but the computer won't start again after I turn it off. So I said, matbe it's a "cheap" card and went to another computer store and got a D-Link Gigabit Desktop PCI Adapter, installed (along with new software after having removed the old Dynex software) and; same thing.
SO, I am at my wits end. What is causing my Dell XPS 420 to behave like this. I don't want to resort to Dell because their technical support costs are outrageous.

Last year all of a sudden my wireless internet stopped working and had to use a cable to connect to my router. A few months went by and i randomly got my wireless internet connection back for about 2-3 months now all of a sudden my wireless is out again. i ran tests in other threads posted on this subject and the only way they got it to work was to buy a usb connection. is this the only way im going to be able to get wireless back?

Dell :: Inspiron N4050 - Ethernet And Wireless Not Working
Jul 4, 2012It's a Dell Inspiron N4050, running Windows 7 Home Basic, Service Pack 1. I haven't been able to connect to the internet via an ethernet cable nor wirelessly. The wireless indicator is on (duh!) and the ethernet cable works with a PC sitting next to the laptop. I have a ARRIS modem (yes, the third world) and it works fine wirelessly with other devices here such as phones and laptops. When I plug in the ethernet cable it tells me that it can't identify the network. I do see all the wireless connections but it's the same, unable to identify network. I've tired all sorts of things, having studied computer science myself I'm not a total beginner, but the OS is in Spanish so it's really hard to make sense of things. If I can't fix this soon I will be forced to reformat the computer. The pros of doing that is that I will get the OS in English and lose all the rubbish Dell pre-installs on their products. The setback is that I won't have the drivers installed for the NIC and other things (although they should be on the optical disc that came with the notebook). Perhaps the problem is the modem, maybe I need a driver for it. Somehow I don't think that is the case because I brough my own hard drive from my country of origin and I put it inside the PC and it connected instantly with the internet via the modem.

Jan 23, 2010I've been having problems with connecting wirelessly with my laptop (Inspiron 1525). Suddenly it's only able to connect to the local network, but I have no internet access. When I've tried to diagnose the problem, it's given me the option to reset the network adapter, but that hasn't solved the problem. The person who started this thread seems to have similar issues - [URL], however, unlike him my drivers aren't missing. I tried downloading the Dell driver which applies to my WLAN card and reinstalling it anyway, but that didn't work. When I go to device manager, the device status claims that the device is working properly. I also did a system restore but the situation remains unchanged...I still can't connect to my wireless!
My computer is running Vista and prior to this happening I hadn't reinstalled or tried to change any settings, it just seems to have happened spontaneously.

Dell :: Studio XPS 1647 / Wireless Not Working After HDD Installation?
Feb 18, 2013My hard drive recently failed, and I installed a new hdd in my Studio XPS 1647. Everything seems to be working like a charm... except the wireless. I'm running Windows 7 64Bit, for your reference. I went to the Dell driver site, and ignorant, originally downloaded everything that seemed to be relevant concerning the networking drivers. When that didn't work, I came upon an article that gave the correct order of driver installations. I re-installed in that order, albeit using the download manager. No luck. I've run Dell Diagnostics, and the only problem it sees is USB status (but USB is working great... I've printed and access my external hd without problem)... no problems showing with networking. Under the device manager, Base System Device (2), Intel Centrino Advanced-N WiMax6250 and Network Controller all have (!) marks. I actually un-installed all of those, and re-installed the network drives for a 3rd time. Still no go.

Jul 12, 2013It’s just that I had it with Bluetooth in it in my Alienware Mx14-R2 and for some reasons now the Bluetooth doesn’t seem to work.Not I can find the driver in the device manager also., Before I use to use it but now it’s creating problem and it’s just the Bluetooth that doesn’t seem to work.
I did notify Alienware team about it and they did the online conference GO Assist and they did re-install the whole software but there seems to be problem still.I thought it’s better to ask the experts who made the device. I was also told if it doesn’t work that I could just do the factory settings that came with the alienware.

Mar 11, 2013My computer used to work fine with wifi but all of a sudden the wifi is not working. At the bottom of the screen I get the bluetooth icon and the little icon with green tick that comes up when you plug in a usb keeps on flashing. The computer show wireless networks available but the next second they disappear. I have installed the driver from dell website, reinstalled the windows and the driver couple of time but the problem persists.
I tried to locate the driver and the hardware and when I go to Device Manager the list keeps on refreshing every 10 seconds.
Under the device manager Network Adapters I can see Broadcom 440x10/100 Integrated Controller and Microsoft ISATAP Adapter 2 (the later keeps coming and disappearing every 10 seconds)
Under the other devices I see yellow semi colon next to Base Sys Device (3 times) and Network controller.

Jan 9, 2011I have a Dell Studio 1537 running on Windows Vista? my computer stopped being able to connect to the internet a few days ago and a "Dell Wireless WLAN Controller closed and stopped working" (or something along those lines) box would keep on popping up. I did some reading around on the internet and decided that maybe I needed to update the "drivers" for it so I went to the Dell website and downloaded the most recent version for my Dell Wireless 1510 WLAN mini card...that didn't seem to work any after I installed it. So I went ahead and uninstalled it (I assume I must have uninstalled something I shouldn't have) and now I'm stuck at the same problem. I can't connect to the internet!In Network Connections, it continually says that "Windows cannot find any networks". In Device Manager, under Network Adapters, it doesn't list the card there, although it lists "Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet". And from some suggestions I found on the net, I tried ipconfig/all in the comand promt and it says "media disconnected".

Feb 7, 2011I recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 7600 pc running on windows 7 home premium and to enable access to our wireless internet I installed a Realtek 8185 wireless pci adaptor. It has worked fine (although not without the occasional blip) but recently it has stopped working. I could connect to our wireless network but connection came with a small exclamation mark on the wireless connection icon in the system tray. I tried reinstalling the most up to date drivers I could find on the realtek download website and this has removed the problem of the exclamation mark with the wireless connection claiming it now has internet access. However the internet is now so slow (vastly slower than before these problems began) I get timed out errors whenever I try to access any web pages. I have ruled out the router being an issue as my two housemates' computers are working just fine.

I hooked up with them online twice and one tech updated the touchpad driver and another said it was my avast software that causes the problem, I say no way, because it worked for 6 months before this problem started.

Apr 9, 2011Having the same problem with a Dell Inspiron Laptop using a belkin pcmcia wireless card. It was working, but has stopped doing so. I was missing some network adapters which I have reinstalled, and the hard wired connection is now working again, but wireless will not get past the acquiring network address phase. I tried the ipconfig /all and it shows my IP address as 0.0.0.0 and the same on the subnet mask. it says the autoconfig is enabled and dhcp is enabled. My HP laptop is connecting to the wireless network just fine.
