Dlink Router DIR-615 Keeps Disconnecting From The Internet?
Jun 3, 2011
This keeps happening, the router keeps disconnecting from the internet every 5 seconds. What can be going on? I have already logged into the dlink admin and changed the RTS Threshold to 2304. After that, it worked for a couple of days, and now its back to disconnecting again. What can be wrong? If you need any additional info. just let me know.
NOTE: I have already checked for the firmware update, and it appears to be up to date.
So far I have tried doing a factory reset, power cycling, upgrading my firmware, and changing my channel [even though there weren't any interfering networks on the same channel in my area].
This problem started a while ago and has been going on for several months now. I will lose access to the internet for a brief period of time [1-2 seconds], but this is very annoying. I will exit conversations on MSN, downloads will stop sometimes, and it is virtually impossible to play online multiplayer games since I keep losing connection every five minutes or so.
The connection works just fine when I connect my modem directly to my PC.
i ahve a dlink dir 615 B2 router and it wont connect to the internet. on day it was fine and working, the next day the internet led wouldn't change from the red light to the green light.i have tried resetting it about 60 times, while the laptop was on/off, while it was plugged it, while it was without power, while the internet cable was in, while it wasn't, while it was shut down and i reset it and the i pluged it in while resetting it...i dont know what else to do!! short of smashing the bejesus out of it. The internet works fine when i connect the cable directly to the laptop, I don;t have a cable modem or anything, just a plain old cable from the street to my house.
Well, I recently switched to TekSavvy internet, and it's fine, but I can't stand that my internet keeps randomly disconnecting! (All of my devices are connected wirelessly). How do I fix this? Here are some of the specsUsing TekSavvy Cable Internet 28dl/1upLinksys WRT160N routerTekSavvy modem boughtI'm not sure too, but I have DCHP and for MTU I have auto on. I think my computer has also told me once that I had same IPS on some computers as wel
We have a dlink DIR 615 router that keeps dropping the internet connection. I checked with our internet provider about the connection and it is fine. The desktop has no internet issues just the wireless devices. We run a laptop, iPod, cell phone and tablet. Everything was fine until we added the phone and the tablet.
set up of the router? There's so many options, manual internet set up, automatic internet set up, networking setup. The Quick CD installation got stuck trying to find the router. Do i need to connect the ethernet wire to my modem then connect my computer to it wirelessly? Do I need to connect the ehernet wire to my modem and connect my computer to it via another ethernet port in the router? Do I even need to connect my ethernet wire to my modem in the first place?
Now I am no techi but I think i have set evrything up ok but when i input my host name in ie all that happens is that it brings up my router admin page. I don't see how i can get port forwarding wrong so thats not the problem, the dvr is a zeus and its using port 80, which according to a port checking tool is closed (is that the problem) the router is a Dlink dsl 2680. My host name is [url]..... and the ip is set to public ip address, so up to press im stuck.
I have a Dlink DIR 615 , I can never get it to manage the time correctly, even without any down time the time always goes off by hours or days. I tried using an NTP server option... 3.ca.pool.ntp.org but it doesn't work.... so I am not able to schedule the internet effectively router that they have that keeps the time and allows them to control the Internet access that would be good. My kids are teenagers so sometimes it is like talking to a wall trying to get them to control their internet, I can easily block them entirely as I have Mac filtering set, and I will do this, but I would like to not have to constantly check to see if they are online which is easily done with Ipods.
i have internet connection to my PC (windows 7) by wimax internet connection.that connect by usb to my pc. (and check the sharing option on this connection)then i need to share internet on my pc on wifi by using D-link2640u router,i connect my pc to D-link router by rj-45 cable.and setup wifi network but this wifi network did not have internet connection.
Its a Toshiba laptop and she has a d-link 2680 wireless router. The laptop will successfully connect to the internet through an ethernet cable, and will connect to the wireless network fine but when wireless i cannot access the internet. I have an iphone which connects to the wireless network and accesses the web perfectly.I have tried everything I can think of and find online to try and talktalk tech support won't assist as its a hardware setup issue.

have wireless d-link adsl modem router which usually use for adsl connection sharing, but i have a cable internet connection, so my question is can i share my cable internet connection with this router?
So currently where i live we dont have internet other than the tethering of our iphones. I bought this router mainly for use as file sharing between 2 computers. The reason i bought the router over a switch is because we are moving in 2 months and will have cable internet. So because of this if i have the router plugged into the computers and i plug my iphone with its USB into the computer to access the internet the router seems to block it. When calling support to find out how to disable the routing to allow the iphone internet through they seem to not know what the heck im talking about.
Until recently I used the 2.4GHZ band for my pc and my son used 5GHZ for his laptop on our D-link router.A couple of weeks ago our provider installed a new Cisco modem/router-in-one (the old modem didn't work any more). We use the D-link as a second router. The 2.5Ghz band is no problem but my son doesn't get internet access with 5Ghz
Is there anything i can do to get my dell laptop with windows 7 to stay connected to my router. i have my old desk top connected to it also and i have no problems with the desk.top
My wireless connection keeps connecting and dis connecting. My computer says our wirless network is available but after connecting it randomly disconnects and reconnects over and over.
i have internet connection which is connect using dynamic ip address but if i add ip address in Local Area Connection i get two networks, one is internet dynamic ip & other one is ip which i setup in Local area connection. so if i select LAN network for lan clients i can access lan. but now i have DLINK DIR 615 router so what should be my settings?
My new router has started to disconnect for a second or so from the internet then reconnect. I have been unable to see the issue and changing the frequency was unsuccessful. This has also been happening when connecting both wired and wirelessly
I have a home network that uses a DLINK DIR-655 router. All of my devices ( a mix of wireless and wired) except one--a windows xp SP 3 desktop that stopped working yesterday. Some viruses, and adware were detected and it has not worked since then. What I have done.
I am trying to configure my connectivity settings on my E6500. I enter 192.168.1.1 and the logon screen comes up. I have tried logging in with my user name and password and also disconnecting the internet and logging in the router password. After I log in, 98% of the time it says Router Not Found You are not connected to your router. It is funny that it is telling me this since this webpage is provided from the router since i have unplugged the internet. Even with the internet on, it does the same thing.
The times it does load the homepage of the router, I click on connectivity and when it does come up, the page is just blank with Ok, Cancel, and Apply buttons.I have done a reset on the router and reconfigured it with the CD and tried all the above again and same results.
I don't remember this being a problem when i first setup the router, it appears that a new firmware was automatically installed. I do not see any info on this being a known issue with the latest firmware.
I started using E4200 few months ago. It used to have frequent disconnection with E4200 when it's running on router mode back then. After playing with the MTU from 1492 (recommended by ISP) to 1364, it's seems to be quite ok until recently. It is getting worst than before. It disconnect my internet almost few times in 5 minutes. [CODE]...
getting my computer connected to the internet.I have a fresh install of XP Media Center Edition with SP2. I don't really have anything else installed as I wanted to make sure my internet connection was working to get updates. My computer is a Dell XPS720 desktop I have a DSL connection with [URL] and a Dlink Wireless Router DIR655.I have two portable computers that are on the local network with wireless connections and they are working o.k.On my desktop at the command prompt; I cannot "ping" anything and "ipconfig /all" returns nothing at all.
I have been putting up with rubbish wireless signal down one end of my house now for quite some time. So I thought I have a spare wireless router and I could put it down there but I am sure ts not as easy as just plugging it and away you go.
Network Setup
Router 1 is a D-Link DIR-655 Router 2 is a D-Link DI-524
I need to know how to setup Router 2 so it basically become just a wireless access point
internet won't stay connected for more than 2-4 minutes at a time. I recently got a new modem, as recently as two days ago. It connects fine but within 2-4 minutes it disconnects then reconnects itself within 20 seconds. It's a plusnet modem and in the corner of my screen I have a little computer screen with 3 signals coming out if it which flash. It's called Wireless Network Connection Status. Beside it are 4 bars not too dissimilar to mobile signal. They too are green and when I click into it it's called Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility.
Haven't been here in a while after going to grad school. My internet keeps on getting disconnected, and I keep having to unplug the power cord, wait 10 seconds, and then it works again. But this has been happening quite frequently. Is it because I need a new router? It is Linksys SRX 200 router it says.
i recently bought a wireless USB adapter so i can connect to my router as my older one broke. The one i had before worked fine and was easy able to connect to my router with high connection, but with this new adapter i can still connect but have pretty low signal like 2 or 3 bars and whenever i try downloading anything or try watching films or just surfing the web for like 10 minutes it says limited access with a yellow exclamation mark on the signal bar and the only way to reconnect to the internet is to first disconnect and reconnect every time.
This is my first post and I'm not very techy, but our home computer running Windows XP Professional recently lost its connection to the internet and I cannot get it back. This particular desktop computer is connected by a cable to the router. I have two other laptops connected wirelessly through the same router and have access to the internet, however the regular "J&A" network normally associated with the router cannot be connected to. Instead another wireless signal source called "DLink 4 (dlink)" is the connection point. This automacally disconnects when I unplug the router, so I'm assuming the router works fine, but the network is compromised somehow.
For the past couple of weeks my internet has suddenly disconnecting on almost a daily basis.Windows troubleshooting the problem always fixes it in seconds and I usually have no further problems during the day but it's getting annoying and I'd really like to know what the issue is and how to fix it.It happened again just now and Windows Diagnostics found the following problem: "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration.I'm running Windows 7 and using an ethernet cable, no wireless connection.
About 2 weeks ago my router began acting up. It disconnects when I'm just browsing, downloading or streaming a video. I tried everything! I changed the channel on the router, resetted the router numerous times. I connected the ethernet cable from my pc directly to the modem to see if it was in fact my router and not the modem. My pc never disconnected once while connected to the modem. In order for me to download something or stream a video I have to connect my pc to the modem and it is becoming a pain!
