Setup 2 Routers DLink DIR-655 / DLink DI-524 On Same Network?
Apr 25, 2012
I have been putting up with rubbish wireless signal down one end of my house now for quite some time. So I thought I have a spare wireless router and I could put it down there but I am sure ts not as easy as just plugging it and away you go.
Network Setup
Router 1 is a D-Link DIR-655
Router 2 is a D-Link DI-524
I need to know how to setup Router 2 so it basically become just a wireless access point
I had this small internet cafe with 15 units pc. and browsing the web is not that stable. i have to unplug the internet modem everytime i can't connect to the internet.I think it has something to do with the settings that was in the router since it was just configured by a tech guy which i think not 100% sure of what he did, though it can connect to net for sometime but most of the time it is down.
I have a dir-615 D-link router. It is well installed with my main computer that is an old XP windows system. I tried to create a network to give acces to my friend laptop when he comes home(he has a mac). I setuped a network with a name and a password. So my friend could find the network name and i gave him the password, but it never works. Another friend of mine also came with an older iBook laptop and the same thing happens.
My modem is an Arris Model TM502GI don't remember how to set it up. That is what cable goes where & is there anything to do on the PC With WiFi for it to connect with my router?I am 70 years old with a limited knowledge of computer and other electronic gadgets.
I have 2 wireless routers. Belkin Wireless G plus mimo Model# F5D9230-4 Ver.3001 and a D-link Dir-615 ver.B2. I am using the Belkin router has my main router. The wife’s laptop and the Wii console connect to the router wirelessly. I also connect a few PC directly to the router via Cat5 cables which runs through most rooms in the house. Since the router is down in the basement in my control panel along side the cable modem and what not. This causes the wireless single to be pretty weak in certain parts of the house. What I was planning on doing is taking the D-link router connecting it to the wall jack upstairs to the internet port on the router. Then setting both routers to static and changing the Belkin router to DHCP?
I have a dlink dir-655 router and an action tec dsl modem on windows 7. I connect with ethernet to the router for my cpu and use the wireless for the rest of the house. I used to have this working flawlessly but ever since I moved I've had trouble, I also just bought this computer so I was hoping for a clean start. I set up the modem and put in the ATT p/w and user name and installed the router drivers and set it up for PPPOE with the correct passwords but it only works when I connect my cpu directly to the DSL modem. I'm really struggling to figure out what could be causing this. Does the router need to be in some sort of bridged mode or something? I didn't run the ATT setup disks on this new cpu b/c I didn't think I would need to and I don't like putting their crummy software on my cpu.
I have a cricket broadband modem to connect to the internet. I want to use my Dlink di-524 router to share that internet connection with the other computers on my network. How do I do this?
My d-linl router was not working and I pushed reset button and it went back to factory setting. I don't know what the factory setting is and I want to put my own password but don't know how. I have Window 7?
Lost access to internet on all wired comupters. Can still connect to router via wired computers but not beyond. Wired PS 3 and wireless still connect to internetUsing a D-link dir 655 router
At 9:15 each night my DLINK router drops the signal.I've tried to unplug it but that doesn't work but it is working again each morning. I can plug directly into the cable modem and it works so I assume it is fine.Is there a time setting on the router?
The router's software was installed on our desktop years ago and now, the desktop is quite old and we have to sell it. I need to know if we need to reinstall the software again in probably in one of the laptops at home.
I am trying to extend my broadband signal out from the house to a rumpus room.My current setup does not give a signal that far.. or at least it is poor with 1 mbps speed. To cable anything other than my moden to router A is not an option. Router A to Router B and then on to the computers needs to be wireless,My modem is currently connected to router A (Dlink dl624) but how do I get router B (dlink dir635) to talk to router A and then relay my broadbad to my computer out in the rumpus room and also inside the house when I am there.
I am trying to setup ATT DSL modem through D-Link router Dir-615. I was instructed to use PPPoE and setup username and password in router. When I do, the router does not save my network password, but reverts back to some hidden password. I have tried changing it in Tools, but it keeps reverting. I'm sure this is why I cannot access the internet.
I have a Ricoh printer hiding on a Dlink DIR-655 with a 192.168.10.101 address. This gateways to 192.168.1.1, which is a Westell DSL modem. I need to allow wireless accounts on the Westell modem to communicate with, and only with, the Ricoh printer.
I I have a Bell 2wire 2701HG-G modem that is acting as both my modem and router at the moment. I also have a D-link DIR-655 router that I would like to connect because of the N capabilities. I have read several pages online as to how to do this, however, I haven't been able to find a complete tutorial, and as I always manage to screw something up, I would like have the complete steps to do this without totally screwing up my internet. Too many people would not be happy with me if I did. I have 1 wired desktop, a wired xbox and several things running wirelessly on the network.
We are using a Westell 7500 wireless modem/router from Frontier without any problemsI have two d-link wireless n300 routers that I want to add to network so I can add them to our DirecTV DVR's. I have tried using the D-link CD and instructions without any success. Everytime it prompts me for my 1st router's (the Westell's) login/password, it says it's invalid. If I then click to continue w/o the logon and password, it then gives me an error when it is trying to add the d-link. I have tried everything. My Westell IP is 192.168.1.1. How can I access and add the d-link routers? Is there an easier way?
I've had my network up and running for several years with no issues. Last week I upgraded my router to a Dlink 826L and now anything connected to my downstream Dlink DSS16+ can't be accessed.
Okay so for the past week i have battled with my two routers trying to make them talk to each otherMy main router (router A) is a dlink dir-615 ver. BMy second router (router b) that im trying to make talk to router A is a dlink router dir-615 ver E1 flashed with dd-wrt custom firmware.I have looked at every setup guide people have posted online and youtube videos to no avail
I have a house with two flours and all rooms have an ethernet port. The first flour has a main router which all rooms connect to (via wires) and this router dials to the internet. This router is also responsible for DHCP etc, and its a D-Link 6740VN.The other flour has the following setup: Wall-> Cross Cable -> D-link 2760U Router -> PC.My goal is to have two routers that broadcast wireless access. So when I'm on the first flour I'm connected to the main router, and when I move around the house with my phone I want to pick up the second router automatically.I've tried all sorts of combinations and settings and can't get it to work.
1. Tried setting different SSIDs, channels etc but the phone won't switch routers because the range is overlapping. 2. Tried setting the same SSID, channel, security, etc... also no luck. The phone only sees one AP but I don't see improved signal as I move around. 3. I don't want to use wireless bridging because a) It's slow and b) I have the wires in the walls and it feels like a wast.
I have a new d-link wireless N 150 home router DIR-600. I heard of the wan ping which works it connect for online gaming, does or does it not turn on when you install it and is there any other things i can do to improve it? can't connect to League of legends
I have a DLink wireless bridge connected to the wireless WRV210 router. All devices connected to DLink can access internet/email fine and can ping the WRV210, however, they can not ping any device connected to the WRV210 router, nor can any device on the WRV210 ping devices on the DLink writeless bridge. All devices are on the same subnet, 192,168.100.X with mask 255.255.255.0. All devices get their address from the WRV210.
I have a network which was recently switched from dsl to comcast. The default network is 10.1.10.1. The dhcp is working with the 5 or 6 installed pc's. All pc's are running xp professional.I inserted the dlink 4 port switch to add a new port by inserting it between the router and a pc.
Since always, my wireless connection had two options, the AARON network, which I always used and dlink (unsecured) which I never used. While connected to the AARON network, it lost connection, and dissappeared from my list of available connections. Is there anyway to get it back?
I have Comcast internet and a DLink DIR-655 router. I have a laptop, Playstation 3 and 2 Blackberrys hooked up on my wifi. I also think my neighbor is using or trying ot use my wifi.I need a software program or piece of hardware that will allow logging of the URL's that are requested through my router.I currently use OpenDNS, and the service itself is pretty good. However, it doesn't tell which user is requesting which URL, and if a website is visited with 10 ads on it, it also shows the URL's for the ad hosting company, even though they didn't actually type that URL in.
