Since always, my wireless connection had two options, the AARON network, which I always used and dlink (unsecured) which I never used. While connected to the AARON network, it lost connection, and dissappeared from my list of available connections. Is there anyway to get it back?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop which has always connected to this wireless network fine until yesterday. The wireless network seemed to suddenly just disappear. There are three other laptops in the house which can still detect that wireless network and connect to it except that one now. I have restarted that laptop and the network reappeared and it connected. But when it was restarted again, the network showed just for a minute or so and the laptop cannot connect and then the network disappears. View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a network connection to the main family computer that just completely disappeared after I got back on it. It had been on all day because it was defragmenting, but a few minutes after I got back on it (I had just sat down in the chair and sent a couple messages on a chat I was in and dismissed an "Oh, Windows Media player found another WMP on main computer! Wooo!" notification) and then it was gone.
I assumed the internet had crashed so I gave it a couple hours, no internet. I stayed up longer waiting, writing, playing some games, but nothing. I didn't check the Network computers thing until now.
Usually even when the internet crashes the main computer still shows up in the computer list but it was just mine then. It seems like it totally dropped the connection and it can't find it again when I try to create a new one. It's not like I watch p~rn or download anything I'm not supposed to download so...
And the network icon doesn't have a big red no connection at all x - It's just the two computers, no world icon, no x. I've tried booting in safe mode with networking, nothing, 'netsh winsock reset catalog' + 'netsh int ip reset.log, nothing, create new connection, nothing, and repair memory problems, nothing. : Microsoft Security Essentials found no viruses after a full scan, and it had been updated hours before the internet had a tantrum. I recently uninstalled Malwarebytes because according to a friend its update crashed her computer so I have no other virus scanner to use.
Oh, I'm runnning a Windows Vista Home Premium. Mine is genuine, it came with the computer, but my father had the bright idea to use -my- Vista disc to install it on the main PC, so it's all 'rawr not genuine' though as far as I know, my father's W7 laptop is still running just dandy.
We use a D'Link router, and it's worked fine until now. I don't actually know how my computer is connected, I'm pretty sure it's hardwired to the modem or router, but my father's is wireless. I've been searching like mad for the router's wireless USB thing, but it seems to have walked out the door.
My Network is gone from my list of available networks on my MacBook. I use s NETGEAR router, my network name is simply "NETGEAR" i have never named it anything else since installing this over 4 years ago. I have unplugged the power cord, waiting several minutes before plugging it back in. Also tried unplugging both the cable and the power cord. The router has no small "pin hole" that i can see in order for me to try to re-set it this way. It has literally disappeared from my Mac. Do i need to re-install using my NETGEAR cd?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a cable modem and it is attached to my computer, and it is also attached to a wireless router that we have been using for various wireless things around the house, like our phones and also the Roku box (for Netflix, etc).When I got the wireless router I was told to set up a private network and to use a password. I did this (though I don't remember how) and whenever a new device was first trying to access the wireless from the router it found the network name I gave, and I put the password in and used the wireless.
Last night we had some trouble watching something on Netflix using the Roku box and it connected to wireless but not to the local network. Then this morning it did not even find the wireless connection. I looked at my iphone and saw I had a strong wireless signal, but when I looked at the wireless settings it just said "linksys" (the wireless router) -- the network I had set up was gone!I looked on my PC in Control Panel, Network and Sharing, and the network I had set up and named does not pop up as one that's available.
However when I click on "Manage Wireless Networks" that wireless network I had set up is still listed there -- it's just not showing up. Somehow that got dis-associated with my router.how to re-establish the connection between the router and the network name/password I had established.
I'm trying to set up this 1130AG with a private wireless network and a guest wireless network. Initially it had just one wireless (private) and it worked fine, but then when I created the two VLANs for each SSID and then the guest SSID and now the guest SSID is visible/broadcasting, but the private SSID has disappeared or is off.
P.S. - It's a Cisco Aironet 1130AG (AIR-AP1131AG-A-K9) running 12.3(8)JEA system software and I'm using the web GUI (I'm not familar with the command line for Cisco products yet).

View 4 Replies View RelatedAT&T recently came out and replaced our Uverse modem, upon which iPad could connect to the new network, but neither of our laptops. I'm only a little technical with hardware/system issues, so after none of the more obvious troubleshooting issues worked, I started searching for more information and came across this site....great!! Eventually resolved the issue, suspect the wired connection through modem/router did the trick, but also updated the network adapter drivers. This (husband's) laptop was doing fine for a few hours, but then suddenly lost connection -- appeared that the network adapter was disabled. But when I went to enable it, it was gone!! It no longer appears in the Device Manager list at all. (It is/was an Atheros AR5700)

When I do, the router does not save my network password, but reverts back to some hidden password. I have tried changing it in Tools, but it keeps reverting. I'm sure this is why I cannot access the internet.

We are only given one ethernet port in the bedroom and dragging a 50ft ethernet cable between the bedroom and the common area in the suite is no fun. I have tried to far unsuccessfully. I think the problem is related to the 802.1x authentication that is used on the network. How to get it to work? So far I have disabled DHCP, UPnP and then plugged the first client LAN port into the ethernet port that is provided. I can connect to the router and access the admin panel but there is no connection to the internet. It also did not work plugging my computer into a second LAN port instead of connecting wirelessly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a D-Link DIR-655 hoping to get a faster connection over my Netgear WNR2000.I runs mostly fine apart from the occasional freezes and one other problem: youtube video's won't load. I can search and browse youtube, but when I click on the video, the page loads but the video just doesn't load. I can see the play/pause button and the circle telling use the video is loading. Then that's it. Nothing happens. When I plug back my WNR2000, Youtube videos load fine. Same thing on my roommate's laptop. All of my German housemates have internet again, but my laptop does not show the network anymore. My wireless card picks up all the other signals in range, but not our router's. Unmanaged switch like D-link & Linksys was used and it worked pretty fine only for certain areas of the factory. Then office with more workers will be using managed switch to ensure the workers have decent connection to the local server.
Question is, why are some small offices' connection so ridiculously slow?

Tested - The main connection cable cannot go through the switch to distribute the connection. Even if there is only 1 PC linked to the switch, it will still be slow. It will be at it's max if it didnt go through the switch, but directly to the PC instead.
True enough that unmanaged switch aren't smart enough to allocate the speed, but why is it possible for some other part of the small office to have fast connection even by using the normal unmanaged switch?
I have 2 wireless routers. Belkin Wireless G plus mimo Model# F5D9230-4 Ver.3001 and a D-link Dir-615 ver.B2. I am using the Belkin router has my main router. The wife’s laptop and the Wii console connect to the router wirelessly. I also connect a few PC directly to the router via Cat5 cables which runs through most rooms in the house. Since the router is down in the basement in my control panel along side the cable modem and what not. This causes the wireless single to be pretty weak in certain parts of the house. What I was planning on doing is taking the D-link router connecting it to the wall jack upstairs to the internet port on the router. Then setting both routers to static and changing the Belkin router to DHCP?
