As the subject says... Sending logs using "On schedule" option doesn't work. I have my own personal email server I used to test this. When the router time reaches the defined "Start time" nothing happens. I tried both time formats (12h, 24h). The router does NOT initialize the process of sending the email. I see that in my server mail logs. If sent manually from Status -> Logs -> Email now, it works. If sent using "On Log Full" option, also works.

Aug 16, 2011recently one of the two laptops i have at home started to occasionally refuse to connect to the internet through wireless, the other laptop still works perfectly, both are running windows 7. The story is in my building you have to connect twice. the 1st is to connect to the wireless (which both laptops do with no problem). Then you get a pop up (or open a browser) that tell you further log in is required. when you open the browser you put in the 2nd set of log in info and away you go.Recently one of the two laptops started to occasionally refuse to open the 2nd log in page once i open the browser. leaving me stranded out of the internet. Usually i play around with things and it just fixes itself. This tends to happen at random and with no pattern. it works for few days and then it happens again.

Aug 8, 2012I have a question about NAT behavior on FWSM 4.0. The problem is email server (Company A) cannot connect to email gateway (Company B) on the outside network and it randomly happen. I got this error from server guy "Detail: xlate has blocked the connection between A’s mail gateway and B’s mail gateway". It work fine again after clear xlate on firewall. [code]
1. How FWSM create xlate table like that? I mean it look like NAT0 for 158.137.21.26 but it doesn't has any nat rule for 158.137.21.26 on firewall.
2. What does it mean "connections 24" at the first of line? In the normal time, I only see the connections is 0 like the second line of xlate
3. After clear xlate global 158.137.21.26, the first line of xlate table is gone then email server can connect each other. Does is a bug on FWSM? or This is a normal NAT behavior of FWSM.

Sep 8, 2012Before yesterday, there was 5 computers that our family used with access to the internet: one desktop computer with access to the internet via an ethernet cable attached to the wireless router, and 4 laptops- 3 dells, and one mac. All of them worked apsolutely fine.However, yesterday, my father brought in a new dell laptop. Once he connected it to our wireless, the internet on my laptop (a dell) stopped working. His new laptop coudn't get access either. Meanwhile, all the other computers had internet access.

Jun 24, 2011I have an SMC2804WBR router. It runs slowly and refuses to even load some web sites. If I unplug it for half an hour, it works fine for three or four minutes and then slows right down again. SMC support told me to reset and reconfigure the settings. I tried it twice. It made no difference at all. It works fine for a few minutes after it has been unplugged but then slows right down. I have the cable connection plugged into a PC running Windows 2000 and that is where I have the router plugged in as well. This is not the machine I use on a daily basis. I use a MacBook Pro via wireless. If I purchase a new router that says the operating system can be OS X or at least XP, can I configure it from the MacBook and will it still work with the PC running on Windows 2000? I was thinking of scrapping the SMC and getting a Linksys E1200-CA.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3750 Switches Refuse To Fire The Port-security Violation Traps
Oct 20, 2010My group has recently started configuring traps on our switches to alert us of issues as they arise vs. waiting for the Helpdesk to receive user complaints and then responding.We have successfully configured the 2950 and 2960 switches to alert us when a port-security violation happens. However, the 3750 switches refuse to fire the port-security violation traps. The 3750's will fire an errdisable trap when the port goes down though.
Here is one of the port configurations:

And here is the output of the port-security debug:

All of the 3750's are running C3750-IPBASEK9-M, Version 12.2(53) SE2. Wireshark also shows the errdisable traps, but no other traps so I've ruled out the traps being missed. All of the switches have been reloaded and power cycled.

I have my desktop computer, and I can leave it on all the time and I never leave with it, so I'd love to set up wifi on it, since it will be so much more convenient.
I brought my router from home, and ive gotten it to send out my computer's internet connection, but it brings me to the school's registration page, which I can not use, since routers are not allowed. Is there a way to use my desktop's ethernet connection and send out that internet connection through my router (it also needs to bypass the school network, somehow fooling it that my router is my computer (im guessing))? I have 2 ethernet jacks on my computer by the way.

Aug 27, 2012So this is somewhat of a strange issue. I have a program called PeerGuardian 2 and it allows me to simplistically see the packets being sent to and from devices on my home network. It's showing that my computer is sending packets to random IP addresses, some of them reoccur, on a massive range of ports all going in order.

From 192.168.1.253:6812 - To 74.120.148.2:80

This happens in spurts and it usually sends 20-40 to varying IP addresses in a matter of a few seconds. I asked my ISP if they understood what this was and it stumped the technician I spoke with. I also have run multiple virus/malware scans and everything comes up clean.
