Computer Not Sending Packets But Receive Them

Sep 2, 2012

Alright, so we have about six computers on average all on at the same time, working just fine, last night one of the laptops just, stopped working, saying there is no internet access, With every attempt it doesn't send any information. When I disconnect it from the wireless, then reconnect it, it immediately receives packets but won't send any.

Computer Does Not Receive Packets

Jun 6, 2011

I have connected the computer to the internet a multitude of ways, and no matter how i do it, it always can not receive packets. It is sending packets though.I have tried connecting it directly to the modem, with different wires, through a router, through a network card... I'm pretty much at a loss, im not an expert by any means but im not computer illiterate either. Chances are this is a simple fix... My other computer (the one im on) works fine with both cords, connected directly, and through the router to the modem.

Sending But Not Receiving Packets

Sep 26, 2011

Our computer is sending but not receiving packets. We've tried 3 different wi-fi adapters, and that wasn't the problem. We have no idea what's wrong? It won't pick up any wireless signals by the way, and it works fine while connected via Ethernet.

PC Sending Packets To Random IP's From A Range Of Ports?

Aug 27, 2012

So this is somewhat of a strange issue. I have a program called PeerGuardian 2 and it allows me to simplistically see the packets being sent to and from devices on my home network. It's showing that my computer is sending packets to random IP addresses, some of them reoccur, on a massive range of ports all going in order.

(example)
From 192.168.1.253:6812 - To 74.120.148.2:80
From 192.168.1.253:6813 - To 74.120.148.2:80
From 192.168.1.253:6814 - To 74.120.148.2:80
From 192.168.1.253:6815 - To 74.120.148.2:80
From 192.168.1.253:6816 - To 74.120.148.2:80
From 192.168.1.253:6817 - To 74.120.148.2:80

This happens in spurts and it usually sends 20-40 to varying IP addresses in a matter of a few seconds. I asked my ISP if they understood what this was and it stumped the technician I spoke with. I also have run multiple virus/malware scans and everything comes up clean.

Able To Send Packets But Not Receive Through Router

Apr 23, 2012

At random times, my internet will "drop" connection and will not download any packets, but I am still able to send packets. My Local Area Connection icon continues to say I am connected, my modem is fully functional, and my cables are good. I can get my internet back up and running for 10 minutes or so by disable and re-enabling my Network Connection. If I simply try the "repair", it gives me an error at the "Refreshing IP" step.I have done a full system scan for viruses and I am clean. My drivers are fully updated, I have disabled my firewalls, and still no luck. During the times when it is down, I can successfully ping my modem through CMD, but I get the time-out error if I ping a site, my default gateway, the DHCP Server, or the DMS Servers.I have made no changes to any major settings on my computer, nor has there been any recent additions/removals of any software.

I can't connect to the internet. When I double click Local Area Network under Network connections it says it has both sent and received packets. It is set to automatically acquire an ip address. The computer is connected to a router. I can ping 192.168.1.1 but when I try to reach my router's settings it says page can't be loaded. I tried to hook the computer up directly to the modem and connect that way. It said it was connected and it was sending packets but I still couldn't do anything. I've turned off the windows firewall. Sending Out Computer Internet Through Router?

Jan 23, 2013

The university I attend doesn't allow modems and routers, but me and my roommates desperately need wifi for our devices, otherwise they are being wasted sitting around. today I set up an ad hoc connection on my roommates laptop, but he brings his laptop places and when he's out, we have no wifi. I have my desktop computer, and I can leave it on all the time and I never leave with it, so I'd love to set up wifi on it, since it will be so much more convenient.

I brought my router from home, and ive gotten it to send out my computer's internet connection, but it brings me to the school's registration page, which I can not use, since routers are not allowed. Is there a way to use my desktop's ethernet connection and send out that internet connection through my router (it also needs to bypass the school network, somehow fooling it that my router is my computer (im guessing))? I have 2 ethernet jacks on my computer by the way.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Dropping Packets While Gaming On Computer

Mar 27, 2012

I bought a DIR-655 a less than a year ago on amazon, and it was working great up until about 4 weeks ago. Ive noticed that it has been dropping alot of packets while I am gaming on my computer. I would run about 95-98 ping usually and now it jitters every 5-10 mins or so from 95-98 to up to 500. It is really troublesome during games and I dont know what to do. Ive tried disabling QoS and still nothing. I run on wireless G and N with auto 20/40 mhz. Standard WPA(personal) and it was running absolutely great until now. I know its the wireless because I have hardwired it into my laptop, both from the router and just the modem itself with no problems whatsoever. I dont know what to do about it.

Did Not Receive IP Address

Feb 21, 2013

For the past 2 days I have been having a problem with my laptop taht, actually a bit old. I also have another pc, a desktop, with a d-link modem and wireless router (DIR-615). The problem is that I can't go on the internet with my laptop, because of a certrain error on the Intel PROSet Troubleshoot: "Did not receive IP addresss", in fact the IP address was written as 0.0.0.0, and when I open the internet browser I can't go on to any page. IO have tried everything, believe me, from switching off every thing, to reinstalling the router, but nothing seems to resolve the error.
