I had a customer call me and her desktop (wired connection only) is sending and receiving packets but she still cannot connect to the internet. Customer has tried power cycling her modem, router and desktop with no avail. Her system is running XP.

The problem is my pc is sending packets but not receiving any i though it was a bug or something so i restarted my pc after i restarted my pc the internet was working fine until a couple of minutes passed it stopped receiving packets again.i tried resetting the modem but nothing worked.I tried winsock fix or resetting TCP/IP and stuff but nothing workscause its starting to frustrate me.

I have tried to troubleshoot the problem and it says that the default gateway is not available. I am not sure what is happening with it, it started having problems while at a starbucks, and now the wireless and the LAN is not working on it.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have an acer aspire 5315 and im running windows vista home basic, My wireless has had no issues at all until i came to oklahoma yesterday and my internet will not connect to my dads wireless, but at my moms it had no issue, and at the airport i connected to there wifi with no issues also, is there some kind of setting that gets changed when you connect to the internet in the airports that wouldnt allow you to get on your internet at home?

A man came to check if the cable was the problem by replacing it, but it wasn't. He claims it might be related to the laptop. I have tried several times restarting it. View 5 Replies View RelatedThe university I attend doesn't allow modems and routers, but me and my roommates desperately need wifi for our devices, otherwise they are being wasted sitting around. today I set up an ad hoc connection on my roommates laptop, but he brings his laptop places and when he's out, we have no wifi. I have my desktop computer, and I can leave it on all the time and I never leave with it, so I'd love to set up wifi on it, since it will be so much more convenient.
I brought my router from home, and ive gotten it to send out my computer's internet connection, but it brings me to the school's registration page, which I can not use, since routers are not allowed. Is there a way to use my desktop's ethernet connection and send out that internet connection through my router (it also needs to bypass the school network, somehow fooling it that my router is my computer (im guessing))? I have 2 ethernet jacks on my computer by the way.
I have a windows 7 laptop and i have bridged my wireless with my ethernet port on it, i have directly connected my ubuntu server to my windows 7 laptop via crossover, and ubuntu says its connected, but it will not recieve internet. I can get 2 windows pc's to bridge successfully, but not a linux machine. Is there some configuration im missing or something that i missed? the goal is to get internet for my ubuntu server.

Nice device, but I would like to extend my wi-fi network and connect a couple of PCs to another router in a different area using an almost new Linksys E4200 as a second router.I have already wired a network cable from the TG712 to the location where the E4200 is, tested the connection using a laptop, but cannot configure the E4200 to work receiving Internet service from the TG712.

Whenever I receive or make a call using my iDECT s2i cordless telephone the internet drops and it takes ages to reconnect. I've checked all the connections and every phone socket has an ADSL filter. I understand that some wireless devices can affect a router and that these are usually 2.4ghz devices but I have no idea if my cordless telephones are 2.4ghz or 5.8ghz or indeed if this is the source of the problem at all.

Remote PC -> RV042 -> VPN -> RV082 -> RV082 Firewall (block internet traffice, allow intranet traffic)
I ran network diagnostics and in the Win sock catalog, I found 5 errors: TCP/IP and UDP/IP could not perform simple loop back communication, UDP service provider, and TCP service provider could not perform simple loop back communication, and A connectivity problem exists with an installed LSP.The network adapter says it is connected.

I've tried resetting the router like umpteen times and the desktop reads the local network but wont connect.Changed ethernet cable twice. I do get the light at the connection so I assume thats fine.
I recently build a custom desktop and it wont connect to the internet. Ive had it directly wired to the modem and it recognizes the network but says there is no internet access. It also says the ipv4 and ipv6 is not connected. The problem isnt the modem because when i wire it to my laptop my laptop automatically connects to the internet from it.this is my motherboard and i downloaded all the drives that came with the CD. I will in the future connect my desktop with powerline networking but my router just broke so i wont be able to do that now.

It is now connected directly to the modem and when I click on the red X between the network and the internet icons in network and sharing center to diagnose it says "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid ip configuration. But when I connect the same ethernet cable to my laptop I'm connected instantly. I've uninstalled/installed the network adapter, I tried cmds in the cmd prompt, I even did a system restore and still.........NOTHING!
