Right now I'm using Teamviewer to remote connect to my desktop when needed, but it seems like quite a bad product.As in, response time is slow between computers, colors get messed up, ect. So my question is: Is there a better software for remote connections between computers, that is free.
Boss has asked me to find a "free" Remote Desktop App, to monitor, access and audit over 200 workstations
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently installed a new SSD and a fresh windows install.After reinstalling everything,I connected my LAN cable and had issues that it would constantly connect and disconnect.Even the lights on the back were flashing on and off.If it stayed on long enough it would establish a connection. I am using my motherboard build in lan adapter.I have a Asus P8P67 Pro, which has the Intel� 82579, 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller. I was able to establish a connection perfectly fine through my wlan stick.I went to the Asus website and downloaded their drivers for the Lan Controller. This did not fix anything.I attempted numerous install and deinstall of the drivers. At that point I went directly to the Intel website and downloaded their most recent drivers. After installing the Intel drivers, I was able to keep a connection, but it was very very slow.Through Lan connection i am barely able to open up Google, but every time I attempt a speed test, the connection is too slow. Though when I connect through Wlan,I get the full connection speeds.The router I am using is a Netgear DG834G v4. Also tested various cable just incase that might be the issue. Also,when i use the same cable and connect it to my Laptop, I get the full connection and no issues.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhich Intel network cards runs well with E4200 (latest FW)? I mean good connection and transfers rate. I have two clients with the same cards (Intel 4965agn, latest driver) and I got transfer rates at 144 Mbps with both radios working (2.4 and 5GHZ on the E4200). When I try to use 5Ghz only it drops to 54 Mbps and for 2.4Ghz it drops for 130 Mbps. Could I reach better transfers rate with a Intel 4965agn card (300 or 450 Mbps)?

Any of ya'll out there that have done 802.1x run into this issue before?
I opened a computer in other network via remote desktop(because I forwarded port in router)....and tried to access other computers in the network via remote desktop again from that computer but after I done, I don't know how to close the secondary remote desktop. There was one close button on the top, but if "close" it, whole rdp connection was closed. The secondary rdp connection is still open in the computer.

1. Allowed incoming remote desktop connections
2. Verified that the firewall is open for RDC
3. Forwarded port 3389 on my router to my devices static IP
4.Verified that I am using the correct IP (Router has a dynamic IP but I called home and had my wife read the current IP # from whatismyip.com)
5. Setup an account on the home computer that is password protected
I am connecting from a win XP pro computer.I receive 0% packet loss with reasonable time delay when pinging my home IP from the work computer.I also asked a family member to try from a different location (using Vista Ultimate) with the same result Error is that connection is never established and I am never prompted to logon to the home computer.I can connect via RDC when on the home network.
i am trying to establish a VPN connection between two remote offices.In the home side I have Cisco 1811W and on the far side CiscoSRP541.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm both concerned and pissed off that my creepy housemate might've used our network to invade my privacy, steal expensive multimedia & valuable personal info, and may have continued access to my computers. I have a Win7Home laptop and a Win7Prof desktop. Both have a Windows password.I was attempting to back-up files from my laptop to my desktop ~2 weeks ago, so I created a Shared Folder and put files in there. After the copying was done, while I was moving the folders from the Shared Folder to a private folder on my desktop computer, there was an error message for one of the folders, saying it was open in another window... this was strange, since it definitely hadn't been opened within weeks by me. But it resolved immediately (like they got alerted). And of all the folders, it's one which my stalker roommate would def be interested in.
Also, I recently noticed that there are Remote Desktop Connection icons on both my computers (with "Allow" checked on laptop only). They were created 49 seconds apart, that NEXT morning. They reside in the same parent folder as where the shared folder resides (Documents folder on laptop and a Partition on the desktop). It is possible that I created the RDCs by accident while amateurly trying to network the my PCs, or could they be offspring from a trojan/DLL file which was placed in the Shared folder by my creepy roommate...? As "admin" over our router, would he have been alerted to the fact that I shared a folder? I'd enabled "Home" network and discovery for my computers. Could he access other NONshared folders if my computer was visible? Can router admins view a window that can constantly track network computer activity?
view a history of IPs that have connected to my computer. Specifically those that accessed my computer through a remote desktop connection? I believe I can check and see the ip while someone is connected but not after they disconnected.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently got a secure token to be able to connect to my desktop at work from home.The first couple of times I connected it worked well. Now when I try to connect it works for about 4 or 5 minutes then the remote session freezes up and the window won't update. Once it freezes I no longer can connect at all to my work PC until I physically go into the office and restart the computer. Our IT dept can't even connect to the work computer once that happens.
I'm trying to think of what could be causing this to happen when it worked fine the first couple of times.It could be a coincidence but the last couple of times this has happened I think I had just opened an IE web browser on the remote work pc but that could be unrelated and I don't see why that would affect it.The only thing that I can think of that has changed is on friday I got a juniper router and a Polycom IP phone so that I could use a work phone at home over my home network, however that should have any impact and the freeze up is happening remotely not at home.

I'm using a laptop at home running Windows 7 Ultimate
I connect to my work network using a web based ssl vpn web page logging in with an Aladdin Safeword token over IE9 using Juniper terminal services client software.
My home connection consists of a cable modem which has a wireless router plugged into it.Plugged into the ethernet port on the back of the router is a broadband-over-electric adapter that runs broadband over my electric current in the house. I then have a receiving adapter for that electric adapter running ethernet from the electric outlet into the Juniper router. The only thing plugged into the juniper router is the Polycom IP phone. My laptop connects wirelessly to the wireless router.
As you can see, with this setup the addition of the Juniper router/ip phone should have no impact on me connecting to my work network over the wireless connection so it is probably a coincidence. What could be causing the remote desktop session on my work machine to crash & stop accepting connections?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI get this message in response to clicking on "Diagnose Connection Problems" which was returned to me in I.E. 9 after visiting yahoo.com, other sites and most interestingly, even after trying to get to my DIR-825 at IP address 192.68.0.1. The only common element here is the DIR-825 so I suspect there may be some kind of misconfiguration in the device. The only way that I have been able to clear this condition is to reboot or repower my DIR-825.
