View 3 Replies View RelatedI have TWC internet, I've never had a problem till 6months ago. I play online video games often and well it was all fine and dandy. My brother use to have a desktop which he skyped 24/7 webcam and all, that didn't bother my gaming till he got a laptop. Now that hes on a laptop and only when using a laptop on wireless it makes my internet go crazy. I played wow and my ping was 110 once he got started in a webcam session it would fly up to 1000+ in ping. PS3 would lag to s---. I'm not exactly sure whats causing the horrible lag, I know the program that does it is Skype webcam when ran on wireless. Some people say they use you as a super nod whoring your net out to others. Others thing is too many incoming connections bottlenecking my router. Is there any way to fix solve this problem?. I lag even when QoS is set. He uses a Windows 7 Laptop.

A few minutes after computer start up, I can no longer connect to the internet (times out). However, if I then open VPN, connect to the company network and turn right around and close VPN I now can connect to the internet. I have two computers in my house, one is set up directly to the modem/router and the other (in my room) is set up wireless using that belkin adapter above.
Everything has always worked perfectly, but two days ago things went haywire. If my PC connects to the wireless, then it makes the router stop working for the other computer and any wireless devices I have. As long as I don't have my PC connected, then things run smoothly and there are no problems, so it's definitely stemming from my PC?
I thought it might have been the router at first, so I switched it out and it worked fine for over 24 hours, but then the problem came back.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an odd problem where http downloads will stop after a few seconds. I can stream video, do anything else with the internet perfectly. It's just when downloading files from websites will this happen.I use a wired connection. I have tried Firefox, Chrome, and IE10, and this problem happens in all of them. I use a WRT54GS router. I have tried downloading files in Ubuntu 12.10, Windows 7 using wireless, and WinXP, and they all can download files perfectly. Only Windows 8 seems to have this problem. Another thing is that my Windows 8 is a fresh install.I have also tried disabling Windows Firewall to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday my wireless internet just appeared to stop working completely, it has always worked fine up unti now!I have checked all the usual issues, it is nothing to do with my router as i can use other laptops/desktops to access the internet fine.I am using a Pavillion DV6-1215sa which has a Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter. It has full strenght but just says Limited Connectivity, so it is picking up the wireless network but wont actually let me connect to the internet via it.
I am able to access the internet when i hard wire the ethernet cable into my laptop, but the just wont work for wireless.I have tried lots of different suggestions so far, but still cannot access the internet.
I cant download or upgrade nothing from internet because all are transfered to url...home page.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I browse or surf the internet with my computer, it causes the router to stop working on all devices connected to it. This includes my laptops, iphone, ps3 and other desktop. However, if I or anyone else connected to the router had a stream running on youtube, a file that is downloading, a game running online or voicechat with ventrillo, nothing happens to those processes. I just can't start a new download, or open a new tab, or start anything that requires internet connection.I've tried using different browsers, I've tried updating my computer, using different ports both on my computer and the router, shutting off all my firewalls, factory resetting my router and nothing works.I've narrowed the problem down to an issue with my computer as this would never happen to any other or device. This problem ONLY happens when I surf the web or view/open websites. The only way I can fix the problem is by walking up to my router and restarting the router (the router only) and waiting a minute for my computer to reconnect.I've noticed that the router stops working when I go to sites or links that have on screen popups of flash or java. When I check my network connection after the internet stops working, the rate of packets received becomes dramatically reduced.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I load a gallery of images or even when I open up a couple of websites, sometimes the image/website won't load and is perpetually loading, only to time out minutes later.I've tried out different browsers (Chrome, Firefox) on my wired desktop and tried this on my Laptop through WiFi with the same two browsers. The result was the same each time. So it's not about faulty computer hardware, software or malware on the machines. [code] When I ran a Speedtest.net test, this weird issue happened on the end-result screen. Normally when you do a test there, you can share/compare etc. But for me, that content did not appear. On Reddit I browsed a couple of ragecomics for my leisure and then some of the img.ur hosted images won't load. I know this issue still exists, because I use Randomly ordered wallpapers / Wallbase.cc to test out the case. By using this link, you're presented with a bunch of random thumbnails. So I scroll down and keep loading thumbnails as fast the website and I can endure. But at one point, it will stop at a random thumbnail, load the first 20% of the image and freeze. Or it will load 20%, freeze, and continue loading the rest. I also tried this out by opening wallpapers, closing them with CTRL+W, repeating this process until one of them refused to load, but when I refreshed the browser it would magically load the image.
I have reset my modem and my router, the router has been restored to factory defaults. So I'm clueless on what could be the cause of this weird issue. Nothing in the LAN has changed, this started about a week ago. I've narrowed it down to the router, but there's nothing in the settings that would cause this behaviour.
Why does Xbox stop between the router and the internet
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince yesterday, nearly every time I load a web page it either doesn't stop loading or sometimes doesn't even load at all. At first I thought that the problem was just with Chrome, but I've since tried Firefox and Explorer and get the same issue. I've tried scanning for viruses, malware and even ran Boostspeed to see if it will solve the problem, but nothing has worked.
I don't know why this has happened all of a sudden, I've not made any significant changes or installed anything new so I'm stumped. I have the fastest fiber optic package my ISP has, so it isn't down to not having enough bandwidth. Can I try resetting my router with the pinhole at the back, or will that cause me to lose settings, which I won't be able to restore ,and not be able to connect to the internet at all? (I know the routers password)
Whenever I start a Cisco VPN from any machine on the network, DNS requests to the DIR-655 stop working. If I reboot the router, DNS starts working again (the VPN was left on). Why starting the Cisco VPN would freak out the router?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with my router a Dlink DIR-655. I know its the router because if I direct connect from my cable modem the problem does not exist. What happens is I start downloading/streaming something it will start and then just stop prematurely causing me to restart it to get it too finish. For example on youtube, I start loading a video it loads normally for 2 mins of video and then will stop. I can get it to restart if I swap video quality and then it just does same thing. Loads around 2 mins of video then stops loading.
I have tried switching browsers, and I changed my MTU size from 1500 to 1300.My motherboard is a GA-P67A-UD4-B3 if that matters. I have the latest firmware on my router.
